HarleyQuinn Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 I'm of the opinion that we slash the two teams and add another bench spot, thus extending the regular draft to six rounds rather than five. This way, we'd have 14 teams and 14 roster spots. That means that there would be 196 players used on a roster spot total whereas originally it was 208 players. Only 12 players get added to free agency and with the added bench spot, it makes drafting even more vital to grab that key late round sleeper.
Guest Wart Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 Why not have the lower half of the league(whether its 7 teams, 8, or whatever) be in a lottery for the top picks? That way teams wouldnt tank to get a better pick, but the worst teams in the league would still get a high pick and thus make the teams more even by spreading out the talent.
Guest Wart Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 I want to make a change to my keepers. I no longer want to keep Ryan Longwell or Bubba Franks, so my keeper list now looks like: Keepers: QB Donovan McNabb, QB Marc Bulger, RB Clinton Portis, WR Laverneus Coles

I would like to keep the New England Defence and not keep Nate Burleson.
HarleyQuinn Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 Everything on the prior page concerning keepers and optioned Madness players has been updated.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 I gave up on my team a long time ago, but Im willing to give it another go next year. Guest Crazy Dan Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Hey fellas, well I am in the finals this weekend and need some more advice. Fortunately most of my players are playing meaningful games, so I don't really need to worry about trying to scournge for players, but I do have some uncertainties for some of my starters. My for sure starters will be: Duante Gates Longwell Buff Def I get to start 2 RB's, 2 WR's, and one RB/WR. As for RB's - I am starting Tiki and Goings (who gets a favarable matchup against one of the weaker Run D) as my RB For WR's - I have to go with my hottest WR, LEE Evens (Pitt will be resting their O, which means that they migth be punting more and leaving their d on the field to wear down) and I am leaning towards J. Smith, who gets a depleted secondary in Oak and a healthy Leftwich, and they are playing for a playoff spot. So here is my dilema. First I lost TO, but still have three solid WR to choose from. I still have J. Walker, who on any other week would be a for sure start, but migth not play much and Favre is rumored to only play about two series, which means that the Walker might not get thrown his way as much or not play at all. Droughns had a great game last week, and he faces the #20 ranked run def. They play in Den, where a running game will be more emphasized. However Shannahan loves to play musical starters, and I do have Bell, but I am not sure who will get the touches. I also have E. Smith, K. Collins, Faulk, E. Johnson, but these players will ride the pine. So you guys have been very helpful and if I can get some more help, I would be very grateful. This is my first Championship game, so i am very excited and i have spent more research time this week to get ready.

Guest Rrrsh Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 A couple of Questions. A: Since there some teams that are keeping the maximun (6) amount of players, why is their name on the draft order? B: One team hasnt sent there info. Will they be contratced if they dont send in info on a certian date? C: What players are avialable for the Madness players, and can they be listed. Thank You.
Lightning Flik Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Draft order is the Regular draft order. I'm still waiting for STR to return the final keepers and then I'll do up the order for Madness. I've sent him info, and if he doesn't get back to me, I'll smack him silly. All players are available for Madness. Does that help you?
Guest Rrrsh Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Ok...then why did we have give you guys for the "Madness" Draft if everyone is available for said draft. Thanks for the rest of the answers.
Lightning Flik Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 ;; Ok... They were said to be keepers. When I say everyone, I mean everyone not kept. Geezus...
Guest Rrrsh Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 No, I got that. I meant why did I select one palyer to go into the Madness draft if all Free Agents are avialable in said draft.
HarleyQuinn Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Sending 1 player means that you got 1 pick. Basically, in order to acquire a pick, you needed to "donate" a player. So it's like trading a player for a pick.
Lightning Flik Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Dammit, I never am typing in this thread again, in the middle of the night. The player you donate for the Madness draft is unavailable for you for the whole draft (that's Madness and Regular). There will be a slight change to that stipulation (and the Madness draft) after this season, but that's after this season.
Guest Rrrsh Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 AH, I got it. It was the middle of the night, I was a little slow as well.
Lightning Flik Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Which doesn't help when the other person is as slow as well! But yeah. Madness draft will be revamped for the following season.
Guest Rrrsh Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 So, when we gonna have the Madness draft for this?
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 6, 2005 Report Posted August 6, 2005 I think its getting close to the time where we either need to get this going or declare it dead.
Agent_Bond34 Posted August 6, 2005 Report Posted August 6, 2005 I agree. We need to get something going with this already, if we're gonna do it.
LaParkaMarka Posted August 6, 2005 Author Report Posted August 6, 2005 Let's just set up a league at yahoo or espn. We can do this madness thing if flik or whoever is in charge sets it up. We need a SmartMarks league somewhere.
Agent_Bond34 Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 I can set up a Yahoo one if you want... how many people can we get?
razazteca Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 I suspect the usual people will show up.
Cuban Linx Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 It's fairly apparant at this point that last years keeper league is never going to get off the ground, creating a fresh league is probably the best way to go if anything is ever going to happen here. Somewhere from 12-16 teams is probably the ideal amount of teams, though there'd probably be enough demand to do however many teams Yahoo allows. Whatever happens i'm in as always.
Der Kommissar Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 No matter what I'm in as well. I am frustrated after my disappointing performance of last year.
