Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 MLB All Scrubs (the worst All Stars) C Victor Martinez - CLE 1B Ken Harvey - KC 2B Alfonso Soriano - TEX 3B Mike Lowell - FLA SS Edgar Renteria - STL OF Moises Alou - CHC OF Sammy Sosa - CHC OF Ichiro Suzuki - SEA SP Esteban Loaiza - CHW MLB All Snubs (the best players left off the All Star team) C Jorge Posada - NYY 1B Lyle Overbay - ARI 2B Mark Bellhorn - BOS or Todd Walker - CHC (I couldn't decide) 3B Melvin Mora - BAL SS Jose Valentin - CHW OF Bobby Abreu - PHI OF JD Drew - ATL OF Adam Dunn - CIN SP Brad Radke - MIN discuss. I left off Beltran because he has an actual reason to be snubbed due to switching leagues. PS - I based these picks on just this season, not a whole career.
Brett Favre Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 I wouldn't say Victor Martinez and Moises Alou are scrubs. Either way, I say the scrubs. Although i'm still puzzled why Melvin Mora doesn't even get on the online vote for the last roster spot.
The Czech Republic Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 Jason Giambi is the scrubbiest of all.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 well not all the scrubs are true scrubs. Lowell, Martinez, and Soraino have all been allright this year but not as good as the other All Stars. Giambi vs. Harvey was a real dogfight, so was Renteria vs. Jeter.
Brett Favre Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 Hey, Jeter is having a good year. His average is up near .280, 13 homers, and around 45 rbis.
Brett Favre Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 Tom Gordon should be the Scrub RP. You should check out his stats first.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 (edited) Tom Gordon should be the Scrub RP. You're an idiot. And no, that's not a flame, that's an accurate statement. You're an idiot. Edited July 6, 2004 by Anglesault

If he was on the list and got voted in (not likely..) they'd still have to pick someone else. Javy Lopez should have been the Snub Catcher too. Id say the Scrubs win.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 I could come up with worse scrubs than that. To me, the scrubs are the guys who put up gaudy first half stats that are out of line with their career marks. If we're playing an ACTUAL game, the snubs will beat those guys easily.
razazteca Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Its not an All Star Game its the Yankees vs everybody else.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Its not an All Star Game its the Yankees vs everybody else. That's what it is.
Damaramu Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Soriano is a scrub? I don't think so. He's good at what he does and I believe he was like the 2nd highest if not the highest vote getter.

I believe Soriano was the highest vote getter. And deservedly so.....he's one of the men responsible for the Rangers resurgence.
Styles Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Melvin will lift the snubs to victory, foot injury and all! (After taking a few days off for the initial injury, he returned for one at bat, blasted a homerun, came up limping and had to benched again and was then DLed. He's a Kirk Gibson for our time!) A man who as a young boy witnessed his father murdered on the streets of Venenzuela, grows up to be a star boxer in his country, battles through the minor leagues to become a utility man that keeps his name in the lineup with his consistent play, moves to 3rd base which he hadn't played in years because it was best for the team, becomes amongst the league leaders in hitting, raises a family of quintuplets and states his intentions when his playing career is over, to run for President of Venenzuela to help bring the country out of it's poverty and crime stricken state. Melvin is a wonderful player and an even better person!
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Soriano had the worst first half of the 4 All Star 2nd baseman. So he's on the scrub team by default.
Guest Deebo Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Soriano doesn't have worse stats than Ronnie Belliard
nogoodnick Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 I definitely wouldn't consider Soriano a scrub. Why is Ichiro a scrub though? Hes having a fine year, one of the only bright spots on one of the worst teams. Batting .318, 111 hits, 30 RBI's.
Dr. Tom Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 If this were an actual game, the Snubs would win this one going away. I gess we'd have to see the rest of their pitching staff to accurately tell, but there are plenty of pitchers having good years who aren't on the All-Star team, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Both Soriano and Ichiro are bright spots on there teams(even though the rangers are good all around). I say remove those two from the scrub list. They deserve to be all-stars.
Rob E Dangerously Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Ken Harvey - 75 games, 89 for 279, 13 doubles, 10 HR, 34 RBI, 30 runs, 19 walks/50 strikeouts, .319/.366/.473 Jason Giambi - 59 games, 48 for 196, 9 doubles, 11 HR, 32 RBI, 29 runs, 36 walks/42 strikeouts, .245/.381/.459 It's a pretty even race between these two for the "scrub" team.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 I take Giambi. This is a low point for him. Harvey's about as good as he's going to get.
Bored Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Soriano doesn't have worse stats than Ronnie Belliard Belliard has an OPS 34 points higher than Soriano, who has a mere .686 OPS away from hitter friendly Arlington.
