Guest goatfish Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 I know Mark Henry was injured before Wrestlemania XX, and that he's due back soon. Where do you think he'll go, and what should he do? Will they match him up with Teddy Long on Smackdown and doom us to the inevitable Mark Henry/Undertaker matchup? Could he return as a face and be Rhyno's answer to winning the tag titles on Raw (hopefully not as the all american/I can bend a frying pan character)? What would be the best thing for the WWE to do with him that actually uses him, and doesn't include firing him or keeping him in OVW?
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Put on a bunch of shitty matches before getting hurt again.
Guest goatfish Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 I thought that would be a given considering the wrestler involved, but they appear to have a hard-on for him, so they will use him. I just want to know what to expect.
Guest Choken One Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Here what is pissing me off... Mark Henry will come back and he'll get another mini push to justify his large contract... Scott Steiner is finally uninjured and is being kept on the sidelines to run out his large contract. How come steiner, the more credible good heel who could be a valuable asset on Smackdown has to sit out and Henry, a less credible never was gets opportunity after opportunity.
Mole Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Henry was the first man whose sperm made a 99 year old woman give birth to a hand, that is why he always gets a push.
Guest Dazed Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 How come steiner, the more credible good heel who could be a valuable asset on Smackdown has to sit out and Henry, a less credible never was gets opportunity after opportunity. I agree on the Steiner part - even jobbing him out for three months would be more beneficial than paying him to sit at home all day. As for Mark Henry. Vince signed him to a 10 year contract, and has invested a lot of money into him. His frequent pushes are an attempt to recoup some of that money - again, this is more beneficial than paying him to do nothing. It's not ideal for the fans, who already hate him, and can't tolerate him in the ring, Vince is hoping that with enough repackages, he'll one day get over.
algrim Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Place him in the tag division with a veteran like Val.
Guest Fook Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Benoit was the one who injured him in storyline, so I have a suspicion that they'll feud when Henry comes back, especially if HHH wins the belt since there'll be nothing else for Benoit to do.
spman Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 The Steiner thing is more of a liability issue. They don't want him to wrestle for the last 3 months of his contract and worry that he'll sustain another injury for which they'd be responsible for footing the bill.
Guest Choken One Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 That may be the case but shit at least have him go to smackdown, cut a bunch of fun crazy promos for a couple months and then Eddy can squash the fuck outta him right before he gets the boot.
razazteca Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Time to bring back the World's Most Sweaty Man? Send him to Smackdown so he can join the new Team Angle with Horseshu and be tag team champions for a few weeks.
Youth N Asia Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 He'll suck ass in the ring and take up time that should go to Shane Helms
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Yeah, the Steiner thing bugs me too. I bet Guerrero/Steiner could've drawn just as good or better than Guerrero/Bradshaw.
Guest Quik Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Mark Henry can sweat a lot. That's about it.
Guest Fook Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 And he can look menacing when they do one of the hundreds of closeups they always do every time he's on screen.
Lord of The Curry Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Mark Henry has nice punches. That's all I got.
AndrewTS Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 He'll do a Predator gimmick to coincide with the new AVP movie. He'll be teh fat one.
JN News Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 He's a Hoss, Bah Gawd! He's the object of Vince & JR's desires, along with several other Hosses.
Guest BillyTheStud Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Actually, JR doesn't like Mark Henry, and also Big Show. He likes fat hosses, but not THAT fat.
Guest Staravenger Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Mark Henry will reveal he is Warren Sapps long lost brother, and come to the ring wearing football pads and a jersey with Sapp #2 written on the back. His finisher will be a fat ass tackle.
AndrewTS Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 He'll do a Ruben Studdard gimmick, because Vince has his thumb on the pulse of American pop culture.
2GOLD Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 He'll do a Ruben Studdard gimmick, because Vince has his thumb on the pulse of American pop culture. Didn't he already do this gimmick as "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry? He was Ruben before Ruben was Ruben. Not that that makes any Earthly sense but it makes more sense than Henry in the ring.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 I actually liked Henry before he got injured that last time, I think a lot of people forget how solid his push was with Long.
Guest Staravenger Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 I actually enjoyed Mack & Henry as a tag team. Too bad Mack got injured in like a month, and Henry followed a few weeks later.

Mark acted kinda like Ruben did (in that beer commercial) when he was dating Chyna , and he also begged for forgiveness from Chyna about 2,001 times, but he didn't sing, I don't think. Of course, they'd have to team him up with Funaki...
Australian Pride Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Used in a tag team with a smaller guy is just about the only use for Henry. He is good (well, bearable) in short bursts, but if you leave him in the ring too long it will get very boring, very quickly. I always thought he and Rodney Mack would get a run as tag champs prior to Macks injury, and that may still happen when both return, possibly with Coach as there mouthpiece. I dont want to see another Henry singles run, but i'm sure Benoit could do something decent with him if they were paired together.
BHK Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 on the bright side of all of this, Henry's contract expires in 2006. Not sure when though. But at least that means only 18 more months of him. always thought he and Rodney Mack would get a run as tag champs prior to Macks injury, and that may still happen when both return, possibly with Coach as there mouthpiece I never understood why WWE never put together a stable of black wrestlers managed by Coach or Long, at least it'd make things fresh. Heck, you could even throw Jindrak in there really.
Guest Staravenger Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 I'm pretty sure they signed him in June/July 1996, so in those months of 2006 he'll be gone..unless they resign him. (shudders)
