My personal thoughts at this point is that Simpson isn't that dumb, but she IS that damn naive and innocent. I wouldn't be surprised if Nick didn't take advantage of that...

There was this girl in my high school who was a ditz in particular but was in reality one of the smartest people in the school and had an IQ of like 156 or something I hear later on.

However, she was a marine-bio major and got a 3.0 every semester. My guess is that Jessica is the same way; book smart but not street smart.

I honestly have no idea of what this is. There are people who are incredibly intelligent who act stupid or ditzy so as to hide their intelligence for any range of reasons. I don't think Jessica Simpson is one of them. For her to say "Isn't it amazing what nature can do" while looking at Mt. Rushmore, thinking it was the product of erosion shows an incredible amount of stupidity. It could be put on (I know I at times act like an idiot at times) but the sheer amount of times she has done such a thing makes it seem unlikely.

I rate that. The booksmarts thing is pretty possible too, I know a chick who was quoted in classes at school with gems like, "Can you walk on the sun at night?" & "Do animals talk when people aren't around?" and now she's studying Law.

Much like most shows..they edited how they want, RW being an example, and they could make a person seem comletely different. Now don't get me wrong..I'm sure she's no genius. But I do belive she's the kind of person with no common sense, but book sense, as the quoted post says..

They can't edit someone to say, "Buffalo's don't have wings?" I believe it was on Driven, but Ashlee said something like "This is the way Jessica has always been, there is nothing wrong with it."

I guess it's the editing to that makes her look that way but, here's the thing. Her dad is the executive producer and has alot of say in what is shown. So am I the only one thinks it's messed up that her dad is editing the show to make her look like a dumbass? Even if it's getting them ratings? Of course, I do wonder about her dad. Remember the ep were they were filming the video for Sweetest Sin and they're doing the love making and her dad is standing RIGHT THERE like a few feet away watching very closely. Hell even Nick said something about it in a joking manner but, even he seemed not to like it.

The Counting Crows cover of "Big Yellow Taxi" was my least favourite new cover. Then this came out. They took out the synth/bass line that MAKES the song, and threw in a lot of space for glory notes, thus changing it into your standard bland "Diva" pop song. At least Berlin (or whoever the songwriters are) gets some royalties out of it...
