EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2004 Reggie Jackson's banter gets quite tiresome after awhile. Especially his blabbering about heart, determination, and "looking into a man's soul." And for the record, Mr. October hit .227 in 163 career LCS at bats.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2004 Im rooting for Raffy to hit more than Berkman so we get an all Oriole final..
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2004 Tejada needs to break the record and then quit..
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2004 Good god, Tejada. At least O's fans finally have something to cheer for. As it is, looks like it's going to be the two last minute replacements in the finals.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted July 13, 2004 I loved Schilling's kids running over to Tejada with the Gatorade while Ortiz lays on the hug and hands him the towel. Something tells me the happier Manny combined with Schilling and Ortiz are going to recruit alot of big name FA for the next 3 years.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 13, 2004 This final is kind of nice for a couple reasons. It's nice to see the "subs" make the finals over Bonds and Sosa and whoever else was favored. And it gives fans of shitty teams something to be happy about.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted July 13, 2004 Just because of the affect it would have on the clubhouse and the fact he can replace him suitably enough, if the Orioles and Red Sox traded SS would Orioles fans be ok with it should part of the deal mean an extension for Nomar? I'd love to see Pedro, Manny, Ortiz, and Tejada interact on a daily basis.

geniusMoment 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2004 A good derby but nowhere near the level of 99 or the one in the Brewers park, with Sosa hitting ungodly shots. The lack of stars at the end killed it for me, its nice to see the subs do well but I still would have preferred a Sosa/Bonds/Griffey final in some form. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2004 I knew there was a reason I voted Tejada for AL shortstop for the All-Star Game.......... Anyways I liked Bonds "I'm tired....I'm 40 years old!" comment. And that damn Celebrity Softball game annoyed the hell out of me. They throw the ball up in such a wide arc that all you can really do is pop it up.....should've gotten Jennie Finch on the mound. Styles 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2004 I loved every single moment of it. Forget that the announcers were completely ignoring Tejada to blow Jeter and the Yankees with Reggie Jackson and talking with Frank Robinson about everything under the sun while Palmeiro hit, the O's spoke with their bats tonight. Was rooting for an all Os final, but Raffy made his stand with more homers than Barry Bonds in both rounds. And what can I say about Miggy? Setting record, blasting moon shots out of the stadium, I love this guy. YOUR 2004 Home Run Derby champion and record setter:
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 13, 2004 I loved every single moment of it. Forget that the announcers were completely ignoring Tejada to blow Jeter and the Yankees with Reggie Jackson Well, if you don't count Joe Morgan calling Tejada the best shortstop in the league about eight times, sure. Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2004 I heard Morgan mention that Tejada may be the best all around SS in the game once. This was wedged into the Jeter lovefest.

I was more referring to them letting Reggie hijack the broadcast with his "Jeter is a true gamer" blabber.... You mean how they let him hijack the broadcast while repeatedly reminding him (and getting him to admit) that Tejada is the better shortstop. I assume you're trying to make some kind of point, but it's getting lost in the usual anti-Yankee whining. Or, possibly, it is only the Yankee whining and there really is no legitimate point. God knows that never gets old.
Styles 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2004 Anglesault, Im happy cuz my guy won, so there's no use arguing, but really they were just letting Reggie run his mouth and they didn't challenge him at all. It was a Yankee lovefest, but actions speak louder than words. Thanks to Giambi for not feeling up to it btw!
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 13, 2004 Anglesault, Im happy cuz my guy won, so there's no use arguing, but really they were just letting Reggie run his mouth and they didn't challenge him at all. Except for when they did. Thanks to Giambi for not feeling up to it btw! I'm glad he didn't. The way he was this year, he would have pulled an Ortiz and embarassed himself. I don't really look at Big Poppi as a homerun hitter though. He's a doubles machine that takes advantage of the Monstah.
