Guest The Last Free Voice Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Okay, thoughts, opinions, complaints ect. go here. And sorry for the Rush not getting done this past week. I'm trying to find a method that works for me, so hopefully tonights does the trick.
Mole Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Eh, I was thinking about ordering the PPV this week. But Dusty in the main event seems like a waste to me. Impact has really gotten me into to the product though.
Mole Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Nevermind, I did buy the PPV. AJ Styles in two matches is worth the price, even though a fat ass is in the ME.
Mole Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 One of the whole reasons I ordered the PPV is hurt now. Or "hurt" I should say. That is a bit annoying.
Guest mynameisdane Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 I don't know...I kinda think it was legit.
Mole Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Eh, I thought that too. But he landed on the back of his leg, and he was grabbing his knee. Now I don't know much about the human body, but whenever I flip out of a ring and land on the back of my leg, I usually don't grab my knee.

If your leg stretches completey straight when you don't want it to....then you might. I'm not watching, so I don't know what happened, but I'm just saying it could be legit even if the person did grab their knee after hitting the back of their leg. But who was it?

He had his leg bent and hit the top half of his calf/back of his knee on the top rail.
Mole Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 I never wish injury on anyone, but please hurt Dusty. And that chair is plastic!
Robert Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 I would've ordered, but finding out that Zbysko and Rhodes in a ME made me change my mind. There both in there 50's right? Wouldn't they break there hips climbing the pole? Styles injury sucks, him and Monty Brown are two reasons why I order the PPV. Any other matches happen?
Mole Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 ACCTUALLLY, it turns out that the 8-Man tag match wasn't the main event, but the match that is at 9. So it is the second main event, if you will. The ME is the double ladder match, and as of right now it is one big spot fest.
Mole Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 I wish the ladder match was better because it wasn't any better than any other ladder match I have seen in the past. And next week the 6-side cage match sounds VERY interesting. Obviously Styles wasn't hurt, which was pretty obvious from the way he hurt his knee. Seeing how he didn't hit his knee made the injury a little sketchy. I liked how he lost both matches, seeing how Kazarian and Shane get to feud over who gets the title shot. I didn't pay much attention to the 8-man tag because, well, Dusty was in it and he is about 70 years old. He has no business being in the ring. Maybe I missed something, but did they ever explain why Shamrock is now on JJJ side? It doesn't make much sense. I am not a fan of this little feud that JJJ is having with Alpha. I've only seen Alpha wrestle once and it didn't do anything for me. Plus, I am a mark for D'Lo so I would have liked him to get a title shot. The Raven/Sabu feud is interesting, but I don't Sabu. His spot-fest matches in ECW were ugly and him being older doesn't seem like he is any better nor did he change his style. TNA got a new fan these past few weeks. Impact got me to buy the PPV and I like where the product is going right now. They actually have direction, which WWE doesn't have really. Vince better pay attention because it looks like he has some competition coming up right now. He already lost one fan because I like TNA better than WWE right now. And I wouldn't be surprised if other people do the same.
Magus Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 read the review and it sounds pretty decent. i'm a little irked though that they advertised Raven and Hardy and neither man was there. that's bad mojo for PPV, and they've been doing it more and more lately.
Mole Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Next week they said Hardy will be there, so we'll see if they keep up with their "bad mojo." EDIT: Wait, isn't Raven one of the higher paid wrestlers? If so, why is he never around?
slimm44 Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 I enjoyed tonights show. Last week I thought they overkilled AJ for the live audience because he showed up three times, but then I realized Shane and Kazarian were on the PPV alone the same amount. But tonight I thought they used him pretty well. The ladder match was awesome live. They took some spots from the TLC matches but still a pretty good match. Next week's cage match should be pretty cool. Plus Kid Kash will be there too. Tenay said it would be an interview but i think he will show is face during the ppv. The only thing that bothered me was Borash sort of hinted that they were eading to Orlando for the PPV soon which is cool for TNA but the Asylum fans will be unhappy
Magus Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Next week they said Hardy will be there, so we'll see if they keep up with their "bad mojo." i heard that he's actually been signed now, so he'll be there. BUT, one can't help but feel stupid for believing them now. they've advertised Hardy for what, 3 weeks now? ever since his match with Styles (which was good), they kept mentioning him like he was going to be there, and he's never showed. Dusty said last week that he had 7 days, so where the fuck is he this week? and on top of that, Meltzer said the crowd was silent when Hardy's name was mentioned tonight. i just think it makes them look bad and it kills a lot of the heat Hardy had coming in.

Mole Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Next week they said Hardy will be there, so we'll see if they keep up with their "bad mojo." ever since his match with Styles (which was good), Was it a spot-fest or did Styles carry the match?
AnonymousBroccoli Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Was it a spot-fest or did Styles carry the match? There wasn't a whole lot spot-wise, for an X match. Jeff wasn't awful, but didn't do anything special. It was maybe 8 minutes, with most of the appeal going to the crowd heat. I can send you the match if you want it.

Copper Feel Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 what was the match like? on paper it sounds like it sucks because neither a.j or jeff do anthing for me but the people around here have been pimpin it pretty bad.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Jeff/AJ match is terrible. Hardy still manages to make most of his moves look like total shit, meanwhile AJ was selling for him left and right. On top of everything else.......the match was only seven minutes. So basically it's a total throwaway.......
Guest Nelly's Bandaid Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 The best part of that match was AJ throwing himself at Jeff's whisper in the wind to make it look like death. Refreshing to know when people throw themselves in the way of Jeff's offense it's not that bad. Anything worth a download?
Guest The Last Free Voice Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Okay, here's the deal ya'll. I have some preliminary PBP and star ratings and such, but it's not much. I am VERY sick right now, but I'll try to get it all typed up to send in. If I start feeling better I'll try to rewatch and do more in depth stuff. Sorry Ya'll...

Guest The Last Free Voice Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 The only match I don't have much for is AJ/Kazarian. I was kinda getting sick in the bathroom. (Why couldn't it wait for the eight man? WHY?) I'll try to check out the tape either later or tommorrow but I can't promise much. Thanks for the well wishes DK. You're a pretty cool guy, despite ripping me in the "Fabled" thread. Now if you'll excuse me, I must go regurgitate my lunch.
Guest Donners Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 Looks like The Naturals are coming along really well. I had my doubts for quite a while, but they've apparently been impressive both in the ring and on the mic lately.

I have to admit, I hated the Hot Shots, so I instinctly hated the Naturals, but they've gotten extremely good as a team. I'm glad they got the tag belts.

But I liked the Naturals from the start. I don't know why. I just liked Andy Douglas for some reason. That plus the pink brought a certain cool factor IMO which made me like them..
Mole Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 Even though the Naturals title reign seems like a joke, they are decent wrestlers. From what I have seen of them.
