frisco 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 Its 9:30 pm on a quiet city night. A long black stretch limo pulls up behind the arena. The windows are tinted black and the drivers side window opens just an inch. An attendant for the parking garage approaches the drivers side door seeking identification. Slowely the window opens a crack more and a hand reaches out. It is holding a back stage pass which it gives to the attendant. The attendant checks it out and returns it to the bearer. The hand, which is wearing a priceless rolex watch, quietly returns into the limo and the window closes. The gate for the parking garage raises as the limo drives in. As the gates as closing the vanity license plate on the limo can be seen. It reads: FRISCO Inside the arena all is quiet. The intermission has just ended and the announcers are talking about the action thus far and the upcoming card. Suddenly the lights dim and "China Girl" begins blaring over the speaker system. Riley: What's going on? Comet: I'm not sure Robert. I think someone is coming to the ring. As the entrance ramp lights up three figure emerge from a cloud of pyrotetic lights and smoke. A well dressed man, a very attractive young asian girl, and a huge, hulking man who is slowely following them at a distance. As they approach they can be seen more clearly. The first man is wearing a very expensive black Pierre Cardon suit and tie. His left wrist is decorated by a priceless rolex watch. He is a small, thin man and he seems very unimpressed by the audience who in return are giving him a less than warm ovation. The girl is extremely beautiful and is wearing a black playboy bunny tank top and ridiculously short black leather mini skirt. She is also wearing high black stilletto heels which further highlight her great legs. Her hair is raven black. So black it actually has a blueish shine when the pyro's reflect off it just right. She is smiling widely to the crowd and waving as she makes her way to the ring. The huge man in the back is silent. He appears to weight close to 400 lbs and is apparently not well dressed for this occassion. The man, who is bald and far from a good looker, is wearing a brown corderoy suit jacket and black sweat pants. He is wearing a nice tie; This unfortunately looks out of place since he is not wearing a shirt. Also noticible is the fact he is not wearing any shoes. His mouth is wide open in classic jaw dropping form and he has a confused look on his face. He is carrying a large brown bag over his shoulder. Riley: Who the hell is that? Comet: I have no idea Robert. Not much on the looks department though Riley: I'll let him know you said that After a prolonged entrance the trio make their way into the ring. The big man holds the ropes for The well dressed man and the lady and then walks into the center of the ring. He is holding the large bag much like Santa Claus. The well dressed man steps into the center of the ring and takes the mike as the pretty asian girl claps in approval. Frisco: Now if you clowns can keep quiet for a moment I have something to say The crowd boos appropriately Riley: Geez this guy sure believes in making a good first impression As the crowd quiets the well dressed man continues. Frisco: In case your ignorant and wondering who I am my name is Frisco Once again the booing begins Comet: Ok, so its citizen Frisco Frisco: I take great pride in finding incredible wrestlers. People who have skills that other people just do not possess and never will. As I look out across this sea of mediocrity I see a bunch of average ham and eggers. You guys work your pathetric little 9 to 5 jobs for minimum wage and hell your happy. Your the common little people and thats ok. The world needs worker ants... The auduence begins a very audible "Frisco sucks" chant Riley: Man this guy is too much Comet: He just called the crowd "worker ants"? He'll go far here! Frisco: Allow me to continue. In the next card there is a very ordinary man name Chance Silver. Some people call him "The Paladian"whatever the hell that means. Myself I like to call him "No chance" Silver, because the truth is that is exactly what he has. He is facing my wrestler Candace Tanaka. As Frisco points out Candace she raises her arms to acknowledge the crowd. She is met with polite applause as the audience can certainly appreciate this pretty young asian girl, however they are far more conflicted towards Frisco. Frisco: Now In case you didn't here me right I said the last name was Tanaka. Now perhaps that means nothing to you because your all kind of ignorent, but it is a pretty well known wrestling heritage. Comet: If I remember correctly there was a wrestler named Tora Tonaka Riley: Yeah. He was a tough son-of-a-bitch Frisco: Candace is the grand daughter of Tora Tanaka. She has spent years in the All Japan Pro Wrestling league. Now I know when you guys think about the girl wrestlers you think Tori, you think Stacey Keebler. What you need to think about with Candace is the Jumping Bomb Angels. Candace is no Vallet. She can go in the ring. The crowd begins to quiet as they are checking out the new girl in the league. Frisco: Allow me to also introduce our assosiate Lobo, who is going to help us out here in a moment Frisco points to the big man who drops the sack from his back and removes a thick 2x4 board which is about 2 feet long. Riley: What is he gonna do now? Comet: I think citizen Lobo is going to perform some type of demonstration As Candace faces the two by four she quickly fires a karate chop and neatly splits the 2x4 in half. If falls hard to the ring where to bounces on the mat. Lobo;s face remains motionless as the crowd claps in applause. Frisco: Now that was a nice warm up, but lets get serious Lobo reaches into his large bag once again and removes a large cement cinderblock. He again holds it in front of Candace who once again smiles towards the crowd Riley: I don't think she'll do anything with that Comet: I don't know. It is cement Suddenly Candace fires a spinning kick hard to the cinderblock, which immediately crimbles into a pile of dusk and rock in the center of the ring. The crowd cheers wildly. Riley: That was pretty impressive Frisco: And just for this crowd we have one more demonstration. Lobo reaches into his sack one last time and removes a Piniata. However this is no ordinary Piniata. It appears to be dressed in black with long silver hair atached to it. On all for legs are symbols of faith drawn clearly. It is pretty obvious who it is suppossed to represent. The crowd realizes right away its suppossed to be Chance Silver. Comet: Someone is not going to be to happy about this Candace smiles once more before firing another spinning kick that completely decimated the piniata. A smile crosses Friscos face as he approaches Candace with the mike. Frisco: and thats why I call him "No chance" The crowd returns to a mild anti Frisco Chant Frisco: And now Candace do you have anything to say to The Paladian? Candace smiles at the crowd one last time, then her smile turns very serious as he speaks in somewhat disjointed English Candace: Chance Silver, you have no chance. I make you suffer, I make you cry, I make you beg for mercy. I have no mercy The crowd now begins to boo the trio as a few paper cups are thrown in the general area of the ring Frisco takes the mike one last time Frisco: No chance Silver if your watching this I have a strong suggestion for you. I would dye my hair black, get a job at Walmart, and stay far, far away from the wrestling ring. You have no idea what Candace will do to you if you show up. You always talk about your faith, well than save yourself. The booing continues Frisco: If you show up at the next card, you will meet the devil herself, and see God all in the same night... The camera fades as the group leave the ring and return to the locker area
Toxxic 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 Well... the bit about Chance Silver dying his hair black and working at Walmart was funny. As for the rest - it's taking place at the arena, so I'm assuming it's a show promo? In which case you probably should have sent it to the poster of the next card. Board promos ususally take place 'out of work' as it were. I'm also curious as to how a 5'4'' petite girl is supposed to be stronger than wrestlers like Landon Maddix, for example (he only has strength 2, you see). Finally, it really seems like Frisco is the important one here rather than the focus being on the wrestler. Rather like Test having heat because of Stacy Keibler, only less successful. Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 I'm also curious as to how a 5'4'' petite girl is supposed to be stronger than wrestlers like Landon Maddix, for example (he only has strength 2, you see). Hey, if Annie can be stronger than men bigger than her, why not Candace? She's stronger than WC, too, but seeing as how he outweighs her by almost a hundred pounds, and he relies more on momentum than strength, anyway, I know I'm not worried about it... pending my eventual comeback, of course... Angel_Grace_Blue 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 Building on what Toxxic said, sort of. What exactly does killing a board or brick have to do with an actual match? A board cannot fight back. And considering people use these things to hurt others, by killing a board doesn't mean you can kill Chance. And I'm off to eat some babies...

frisco 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 I'm kind of learning as I go along so if the rps take place out of the arena its cool. In my last fed they were almost always done in the arena so i'm kind of working off of that. I figured i'd do one rp and get the criticism going so I can get a handle on what I should be doing and so forth. As for the strength thing I think the template had Lita listed as a 3 in strength so this girl is probably similar to her. I don't know why a 240+ wrestler would list himself as only a 2 of 10 strength as thats pretty weak. As for Frisco he's basically just the manager so while he accompanies her to ringside thats his only role--that and occassionally distracting the ref lol. As for the bricks and all it was just to demonstrate the characters martial arts ability and nothing more. Kind of what Tiger Chung Lee did back in the day. Cos Annie's bigger, by a fair amount, plus is recognised as being a martial artist. I have no problem with Annie being stronger than Toxxic - that fact that, statswise, this girl could match me in a test of strength I find a little dubious. Plus, I HATE it when people have their wrestlers related to a real one.
frisco 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 I'd be wondering why anyone would give a 240 lb male wrestler a strength of 2 out of 10. I mean thats pretty frail. 3 out of 10 probably is about the norm for a girl wrestler, but 2 out of 10 means the guy needs to hit the gym. I'd say a 3 strength girl would be Lita,Molly Holly,Gail KIm perhap. I'd say Jazz and Victoryia are probably even in the 4's. A 2 strength guy would be probably Michael Cole. the.weej 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 (edited) It should always be remembered that strength stats are hardly binding, and tend to function on a sliding scale based on the leverage someone would logically have. Stats aren't gospel, and shouldn't be followed as such. I find style to be a more important guideline to how a character should act and what their limits are in the ring. -Z Edited July 22, 2004 by realitycheck
Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 (edited) No, a strength quotient of "1" would be about equivalent to Michael Cole. A strength quotient of "2" means that you can lift your own body weight, but very little more than that. It's completely common for cruiserweight characters, such as my own, to have a strength quotient of "2," and the template even says so. Personally, I don't think that female characters and male characters should have the same strength values. Take Chyna, for example: against other Divas, Chyna might as well be Kane, but if she were actually wrestling against Kane, she might as well be X-pac. It's just my opinion, but I don't think that a "5" for women should be the same as a "5," for men, but that could just be me being chauvinistic. Besides which, you only get twenty points total, and I'd much rather have max speed than sacrifice either speed or durability for a little more strength. I tried having a strength value of "3" and a vitality value of "2" before, but I found that it was actually quite handicapping to have to write. Dace59 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 Yes WC it is just you being chauvinistic. I'm sure there are women in the world that would kick the crap out of you in a real fight. Just because you don't see strong female wrestling characters in mainstream US wrestling doesn't mean they dont exist. I'd be just as scared to get in the ring with Aja Kong as with Vader. I think Annie firmly showed a women can work just as well in this fed as a man. And did any of this stuff with stats happen for her? Ok, maybe you can push the limits with someone's body size and etc but you dont have to be big to be strong all the time. I'm not saying Candace is a great example of this one, but oh well. Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 That's not really what I meant; in most cases, a woman who could press 200 pounds would be considered "strong." A woman who was "really strong" would probably be able to push 350. There aren't many men that can only push 350 who would be referred to as "really strong." And a professional wrestler who could only push 200 would be considered below average. That's basically what I'm saying; Chyna can probably push around 350 which, using our "sliding scale," would probably work out to a strength rating of about 4. The only difference is that a strength rating of 4 is not as conspicuous for a male character as it is for a female character. The main reason why I would consider a differing scale is for the lower strength levels, say, three and below, and my thinking is that 3 is generally accepted as "average" for middleweights and such (say, 230-250). Or a man who works out very little. But "average" for men isn't the same as "average" for women, and a 120 pound woman of "average" strength would not be able to lift the same as a 220 pound man who was also of "average" strength, but our system implies that a 3 is a 3 across the board. That really only applies to the lower levels, though (3 and below, as previously mentioned). At the point in which a character has a strength rating as high as 5, which Annie has, the difference begins to cease to be relevant. I always presumed that Annie was equal in strength to, say, Jay Dawg, but Annie was not supposed to be considered to have "normal" strength, anyway.
