Guest tangerine Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Watching over the convention this week; i've arrived at the conclusion that The Democractic Party has a good selection for the 2008 election. I'm not sold on Kerry and so is the general consensus of the Undecided voters like myself. I like Edwards and the Obama kid. How old is Obama? Could he run for 2008 if Kerry doesn't pull it off? Guest MikeSC Report post Posted July 29, 2004 This is gold. Albright told Greta that N. Korea developing nukes over the past 3 years is BUSH'S fault --- not the fault of her and her President's fucking idiotic policies. -=Mike
Vyce 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 How old is Obama? Could he run for 2008 if Kerry doesn't pull it off? Heh. It's going to take a lot more than 4 short years for America to get anywhere close to electing a black president, no matter how good of a speaker he is. Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Yeah, that's one of the things he's got going for him. Rule of thumb, though, is that he has to be 30 to run for Senate

Besides, NO WAY the Democrats EVER would vote for a black man to be President. The first black President will be a Republican. -=Mike
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 I don't give two shits about American Politics in the least, though I find it interesting in a "10 car pile up" kinda way. But MAN Sharpton had me riled up with that speech. I was gettin' riled up for stuff which I had no clue about. Who knew the man could work the mic so well? Obviously not me. Guest MikeSC Report post Posted July 29, 2004 They want blacks to vote for them, and then shut up and go back to the background. You don't see too many blacks in important positions in Democratic administrations. -=Mike
Guest Brian Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Has being in high positions in republican administrations earned them anything lately? Would being in high profile positions in a democratic administartion benefit the black community?
jesse_ewiak 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Just ignore Mike on this point. He's somehow doesn't understand Obama is going to be a US Fucking Senator at the age of 42, which isn't exactly being a porter or chauffer. Also, Al Sharpton is a black preacher. By law, he has to give a good speech. :-)
Gert T 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 I would guess Obama would likely get a shot for President in 2012. By no means does that mean Kerry will be a two-term Prez, or even get it once. Hell, if W gets the bid this November Obama may get the bid in 2008, there is quite a buzz about him.
Vanhalen 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 I think Mike is spot on about the Republicans electing a black president before the democrats, and theres only one man for the job, Colin Powell.
