Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2004 http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/M/MOO...EMPLATE=DEFAULT BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) -- Filmmaker Michael Moore's Bush-bashing documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" has apparently upset more than Republicans. The Pantagraph newspaper in Bloomington said Friday it sent a letter to Moore and the film's distributor, Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., asking for an apology for using what it said was a doctored front page in his movie. The paper is seeking $1 in damages. A scene early in the movie shows newspaper headlines related to the contested 2000 presidential election. It includes a shot of The Pantagraph's Dec. 19, 2001, front page, with the prominent headline, "Latest Florida recount shows Gore won election." The newspaper says that headline never appeared on that day. The paper said the headline appeared in a Dec. 5, 2001, edition but was not used on the front page. Instead, it was found in much smaller type above a letter to the editor, which the paper says reflects "only the opinions of the letter writer." "If (Moore) wants to 'edit' The Pantagraph, he should apply for a copy-editing job," the paper said. Neither Lions Gate nor Moore were immediately available for comment Sunday. © 2004 The Associated Press.
Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2004 Ha, $1 in damages. That's great. They obviously only want the dollar so they can say they siccessfully sued Michael Moore for being a lying windbag in one of his mockumentaries. It would be great, however, if Moore contested it and then had to pay a hell of a lot more than a dollar in legal fees. Heck, legal fees might cut into his Krispy Kreme budget... Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2004 I knew Moore was going to be on Jay Leno, so I watched it in HDTV because of the whole widescreen thing. I figured if I was going to watch him on TV, I'd need a widescreen. However, it didn't turn out so well still. I think we're going to need to develop Super Ultra Wide Screen TV so that we can see all of him at once.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2004 An actual interesting thing on Moore I caught was him on Bill Maher's Real Time show the other night. Michael Moore was part of the 3 person panel and was open and talking up a storm, debating the hell out of the one republican that was there. Late in the show, Maher rolls out Ralph Nader, who has called out Moore publicly on his website for deserting the Green party in favor of the Dems. Nader comes out and there is applause from the panel members except Moore. Moore all of a sudden got quiet and had this sour puss look on his face as Nader went on and on. Nader got his Bush bash in, then turned around and gave Kerry a blast while tying it into Michael Moore's website about protesting members of Congress who voted for the war. Nader stated that means you would be against Kerry since he voted for the war. Moore looked less than pleased about all of this. Then at the end of the segment, in what can only be described as very pathetic looking, Maher and Moore (with prodding from Maher) got on their knees and begged Nader not to run for president. Just an observation about Moore on Maher's show is all.

Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2004 Considering there's a few thousand in the House of Saud (thanks to polygamy), it'd be a bit of a mismatch
Guest whatitistoburn Report post Posted August 2, 2004 Considering there's a few thousand in the House of Saud (thanks to polygamy), it'd be a bit of a mismatch Because they'd need a couple of million to deal with the mass that is Moore?
Guest INXS Report post Posted August 3, 2004 I doubt the Saudi's are that bothered about Moore and F/911. The media are doing a good job at attempting to discredit Moore. Besides, I think Moore would win any court case; the facts are there regarding the Saudi's.

Man, there was a time when I thought you actually had the capacity of rational thought. -=Mike
