Feed-back for the 8/5 HD~!

Note to Zack (not like you'll read it!): Popick called the opener days ago so that's why I put your seg later in the show.

Before anyone says anything, the grammatical errors in the lyrics of the Saints song are done on purpose.

Gonna go for some quick feedback on tonight's VERY eventful episode of HeldDown. I mean, it had it all tonight.

TITLE SWITCHES!

FAMILY REVELATIONS!

COUNSELOR MEETINGS WITH EDDY KALM! *GASP*

Well, let's get started....

-Good opening segment with Popick and the entire INTEN5EZONE stable. I haven't been in the OAOAST long enough to know who Andrew Hyland is, but I'm interested to see what role he's going to play in this storyline.

-Nice to see Hoff call out some of the messed up stuff that went on with the PPV this Sunday. And I loved the sudden character switch he had, going from the

intense spokesperson to the goofy Emperor in one second. I don't think many other guys could pull that off so convincingly.

-Awesome match between Leon Rodez and Skull Kid. The back-and-forth action was done very nicely, and I liked how it seemed to hold a story of Leon trying to prove himself to Drek, who was watching with interest on the ramp. Could a feud between the two be coming up soon?! Don't change the channel~!

-Really fun stuff when it came to Rick Edwards this week. The filmlike, melodramatic nature of the storyline this week definitely contrasts from the more realistic plotlines we've had for the past few months, but I can appreciate where LPYC is looking to take this story. The fight between Rick and Cain at the beginning had a really cool Matrix-y feel to it, which was further developed when it was finally revealed that the Boss was actually Rick's father. I am so interested to see where the rest of this plotline goes. Again, while this definitely felt more like a Summer blockbuster movie storyline rather than a wrestling one, I think the originality of something like this in the OAOAST is really going to be entertaining.

-Nice heel interview from Hoff, leading to a promo from Chris Stevens that I feel REALLY shot him into a completely different level in this federation. Suddenly, with that one interview, Stevens had become a real threat. This was further established with that brutal Hardcore match, leading into something I was NOT expecting - Stevens becoming the NEW 24/7 Champ. I'm glad that the Hoff/Gunner storyline hasn't been forgotten and, of course, I'm looking forward to seeing where that goes. But, to me, this match made Stevens a force to be watched in the OAOAST, so I was just very impressed.

-Great, dark interview from Axel. I liked the intensity in this interview, and all the history that Axel kept bringing up about the Thrillogy members. This growing feud between Axel and Hoff/Calvin/Zack is quickly becoming really personal, which just does an amazingly effective job of building up anticipation for the payoff matches.

-Excellent Panther/Bryte match. This match had just the right amount of action when it came to continuing the feud. There was enough here to show that the two men still really hated each other, but not nearly enough to signify that the feud is near ending. I really Panther's complete destruction of Bryte at the beginning of the match, only for Bryte to use his karate skills to even up the odds later on. I'm really interested to know who Big Kev is, and just how he's involved in this Love Triangle.....well, Love Square, if we throw in The Hand. Bryte continues to be one of the biggest douchebags in the OAOAST - which is a very good thing.

-I like how The Saints continue to try to go for Krista and Alix, and I'm definitely still intrigued to see where those love plotlines may go. The concert itself was also good, but .....I don't know, it just seemed like this segment was missing a little something. Maybe I've been preconditioned with these types of segments to expect a sneakattack, or some major storyline development, but it just seemed odd to me that there was only the concert - and nothing else. Still, what WAS here was very solid.

-Amazing heel interview from Zack. I loved how he completely tore down Crystal, but she wouldn't even bother to speak back to him. She just let her facial experessions speak for her. The stage has been set in the perfect way for Crystal to finally shut Zack up, and become the new OAOAST Heavyweight Champion! Of course, whether or not it happens is a different story....

-The Frankensteiners look to be yet another interesting team in a thriving Tag Team division. Looking forward to their debut.

-Very fun interview from GPX.

She said because I keep staring at her vagina, covering my sack with my hands. "Oh, shit. I'm screwed," I thought. The blonde took my hand and started rubbing it on her...

...To make a long story short, two of my fingers go AWOL and she starts moaning like there's no tomorrow. It sounded like a B-52 was flying overhead, bro.

Awesome! It's great how they keep their complete, cool, nonchalant attitude, even when they have one of the biggest matches in their careers only a few minutes away.

-Nice promo from SB87. Much like Chris Stevens before, Sean Bryant has suddenly established himself into becoming a force to be reckoned with in only a few minutes. The Bryant Brothers could turn out to be an AMAZING Tag Team. I really wonder what the Rave & Assault Squad is going to do for revenge....

-GREAT segment with Sly Sommers. I really liked the twist with Michael Buffer reading out Sly's comments and that Barbed Wire Pergatory match has the potential to be one of the bloodiest matches the OAOAST has ever seen. Awesome fight between Sly and Calvin afterwards. Already, the violence and the intensity of this feud has risen to a feverpitch. I can't imagine what those two guys are going to do to each other at AngleSlam.

-Good pre-match heel interview from Black T.

-Very interesting segment with The Mad Cappa. Between that Cell match and his formation with INTEN5E, he's slowly going over the edge, and I'm liking the sadistic side he's beginning to grow. As it turns out, that Hell-in-the-Cell match has done a lot to hurt the minds of both guys.

-Really good Main Event with Black T/GPX. It was great to see GPX finally win the Tag Team Titles, and overcome something that had been bothering them for months. It's a testament to Black T that they have done SO much for the credibility of the Tag Titles in the past few months that it now means so much that another team has actually managed to win the titles. But, as we saw at the end, things aren't over yet. Between the tag champs in GPX, the "unofficial" champs in the NNMX, the former champs in Black T, Jingus & The Sadist, The Rave & Assault Squad, The Bryant Brothers, The Frankensteiners.....the tag divison has just grown SO much in recent months, and I'm really anxious to see where it goes next. Great job!

Well, in hindsight, that feedback wasn't all that quick. Anyway....as always, ANY comments or thoughts on my Drek Stone/Eddy Kalm segment - OR the subtle developments in the Drek/Rodez feud - would be GREATLY appreciated.

Just one think NYU. I'd like for anyone using Eddy Kalm to contact me first so that Eddy's character doesn't get messed up, but with that said you did a perfect job. However, next time give me a heads up.

Sorry, man. I just thought Eddy was open for the rest of the federation to use. Didn't realize he was still one of your private guys....either way, I'll ask next time. Sorry about that.

Feedback time!

The Inten5e promo was great. I wished there was more Inten5e stuff this week, but I'm sure there will be more to come in the following weeks. Wow...I didn't expect Andrew Hyland to be back at all, but that is awesome.

NYU's Eddy segment was great. He did a good job of writing Eddy and the segment was quite funny.

Hoff continues breaking Kayfabe and his Emperor antics had me rolling. Good to see that the wrestlers themselves were upset about LTP.

Rodez/Kid: A very fun match and I'm interested to see where the stuff with Drek goes.

Hoff's promo was awesome. I wasn't expecting Chris Stevens to come out, but his promo was great as well. I'm interested to see how the Stevens stuff interweaves with Gunner/Hoff.

Hoff/Stevens: Wow! Stevens gets the upset win! What a fun match and Gunner making an appearance was nice since they said he wasn't even there.

Axel cut an awesome promo that easily set up a feud with any member of the Thrillogy. I'm glad Axel is back because he's a very good character.

Panther/Bryte: Bryte's tactics were putting me in stitches. All the weapons pulled out of his outfit and the faked injury were great. I can't wait to see where the "Uncle Kev" stuff goes and will The Hand show up with an eye patch or just a grissly looking scar? I think leaving the scar showing would be badass.

The Saints concert was pretty cool and I love the storyline with Chicks over Dicks.

Zack's promo was harsh and you could just feel the emotion from Crystal. This is such a great feud so far.

The Frankesteiners! I'm glad they're going to debut finally.

GPX bring the funny as they prepare for Black T. Where do they come up with this stuff? I love some of the offbeat stuff they say.

The RAS promo was incredible. The Bryant Cousins should be an awesome team and I'd like to see what the RAS does without Sean.

Sly's promo through Buffer was awesome. What happened to him at LTP was just brutal. This match at AngleSlam should be insane!

Black T with a great promo. They're so cocky and it fits them so well.

Watts and Jivin JR together without animosity? You'd think since JR manages Black T, who are in Inten5e, that he wouldn't be so jovial around him. Maybe he's just a professional about it.

GPX/Black T: Wow I didn't expect the tag titles to change hands tonight. This was a great match and GPX had a good gameplan. NNMX of course spoil the fun (in a good way in my book because it adds intrigue) and we have a surefire feud.

-----

Thanks for the compliments so far on my stuff. Hope it wasn't too predictable who the Boss was. I had been planning on doing that Hollywood like fight scene for awhile.

EDIT: NYU, Eddy is open for anyone to use. I just want a heads up when people use him is all, because he's still a character that I'll use on a regular basis.

Misc Feedback:

- MAD MAD PROPS to Hoff for a great segment with the 24/7 title match and the first segment about the Pay Per View. Very well done, good by you Hoff.

- MAD PROPS to Papacita for a great Panther-Bryte match. I look forward to the storyline developing, as it is one of my favourites.

- Drek Stone continues to be the Rookie of the year on the back of more phenomenal writing by NYU. You're a prodigy, man.

- Great swerve by LaParka, just shows how much continuity he has, and how far back you have to go to get to the start of this storyline. Amazingly cool stuff.

- Terrific storyline development by the likes of Cappa, Sly, and the Tag Title scene. The Tag Division has never been stronger.

- Finally, the Zack-Crystal segment was very, very well done, and makes the storyline *that* much more interesting. This war is far from over.

I hope everyone enjoyed the Axel promo, and I hope everyone has their thinking caps on as to who the friend is! Feedback would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the props on the Stevens stuff, guys. If you know me, you know I'm a fan of long-building feuds with big backstory, and that's what this will be...talking over the course of YEARS. So...yeah.

Anyway, the two things that stuck out in my mind were Axel's promo and the Zack/Crystal staredown. More later, though, for a VERY good show.

OMG in GREATER DETAIL~:

- Interesting start to the show with the Inten5e faction causing a bit of chaos. I don't know this Hyland character, but more people is a good thing, and it gives this angle somewhere else to go. Great dick heel promo by Popick, as well. I also like the tension involving Cappa. I know the real Cappa was hesitant about this, and it seems like that's being handled in a clever and creative way, so kudos.

- Drek's promo with Eddy was light-hearted but serious. I liked it. I love when heel characters show a more human side. I LOVED that Rodez just crushed him right off the bat, too. Just painful. Very well-written segment, the dialogue was realistic and top-notch.

- Rodez vs. Skull was GREAT! I loved everything about it. It put Rodez over, while establishing that Skull Kid isn't just a nobody now that Dama's gone. Both guys looked good coming out of it. And the Drek appearance was a great touch. Things like this add a little mystery to the angle, as opposed to just a beatdown or confrontation. And I could really get into the ego of Rodez vs. the ego-but-possibly-newfound-humility of Drek...yeah.

- Gruesome little brawl between Rick Edwards and Cain before the BIG REVELATION~! I think we all had an idea, but the revealing was still well done by LP, especially the Dr. Wily-esque robot Father sitting in the office and the daring helicopter escape. Still into this story, which reads like a comic book.

- Two bums had a match in an angle that doesn't interest anyone. BORING! :)

- Axel just cuts a ridiculously great return promo, running down his agenda and calling the Thrillogy out. Very dark, very dramatic. I can't wait to see where Adam takes the character next. And the friend...well, it so happens I know more on that front than I can say. But it's gonna be GOOD.

- Panther vs. Bryte...what can be said? Papa just gave us a PPV-level match for "free," and yet kept the feud alive so well that I shudder to think what he's truly capable of doing. I've always been a fan of Papa's, but this was...yeah. I love the ease that the comedy spots are worked in with. I loved the heel tactics by Bryte. I loved the psychology and I loved that the match with THE HAND~ came into play. I love that Panther still wouldn't quit. And in the end, we finally get a glimpse of Uncle Kev. I dunno who Taylor is, but Panther seemed to, and I can't wait to see where THAT goes. And of course, the ending certainly leaves the rematch wide open. Great stuff.

- OMG the Saints bit was great! Loved the descriptions of Logan's vocals. Just FUN to read, and of course it keeps the Saints/COD story going.

- Zack's descent into madness is fun to watch. Just a bitter, harsh, angry promo...one that the reader can really feel. Crystal's reaction was great, as well. Is she scared? Starting to lose hope? The staredown at the end sealed it, though. You know their heads are messed when they can pass nose to nose without throwing a punch. Just eerie. Tres bien.

- Frankensteiners, huh? Should be interesting. :)

- GPX cut another hilarious promo while still seeming focused. Good times.

- Interesting development with the RAS and SB...er, Sean Bryant and his cousin. I'm curiosu where the Brynats will go character-wise, but I definitely look forward to the matches.

- Sly's promo was both funny and got a point across. Good to see that Sly vs. Calvin isn't done with, either.

- Black T's reasons for joinging Inten5e become clear. I'm not sure I like JR in this semi-serious role, to be honest, but the champs can still talk the talk.

- Cappa just showed further how conflicted he feels in a short but sweet promo.

- The tag match I want to read again, because it's 6 AM in the damn morning. Yeah, 6 AM in the morning, that's what I said. But the ending was unbelievable, and I loved the twist at the end as well. Nicely booked at any rate. :) What I skimmed looked superb.

All in all...just a HUGE show full of twists and turns and character development. One of the best in a long, long while.

Actually there was supposed to be some storyline advancement with Krista and Logan after the concert but I was too lazy to write it.

I think it stood on its own. 'Course I've never been one to rush things, either.

I'll leave some feedback.

In the OAOAST interactive poll the NNMX only got one vote! hahahaaa! Maybe that was a typo.

I figured that Chris Stevens would one day get involved with Hoff. However I didn't think he would beat him for the 24/7 title. I thought he'd be Hoff's lackey or something. Or maybe pay Hoff money to teach him to be as cool as he is. Anyway, nice segment from our EOD. When he said that he was retiring the 24/7 title my heart actually sunk!

Chris Bryte/Panther was a high quality match. Too high quality for a mere HeldDOWN! It was also long. So long that when I tried to run the concert next to it, a good portion of the concert got cut off.

Nice main event. Disappointing to see Black T lose the belts but I'm sure they'll gain them back at some point.

Thanks to those givin' the love to the tag division. It wasn't long ago when Eskimo & I thought the division was screwed; we were the only active team, and we had to control our own opponents (HH & GPX) until more guys got involved. Now the division is in a boom period.

And big thanks to those who voted in the Interactive poll. Now, that's a poll with a payoff.

GPX. I don't consider myself hip, so writing their characters can be challenging for me, especially with their high use of slang. When writing for them I just think of something stupid and mix in some seriousness.

Watts & J.R. Simple: J.R. wants to be the voice of the OAOAST again. Him & Watts are good friends, and rarely -- if ever -- do you see him verbally bash Watts. While J.R. is living life now he knows he's better than Cole & Coach combine, and likes to showcasing his skills whenever possible.

I thought the match commentary to the ME was very strong. I feel it was my best ever. When the crowd chanted "REST HOLD," I loved having Watts explain why it was such a brilliant move on Scotty's part.

While I haven't read all the matches, I thought the promos were excellent. Easily one of the best HD's of all-time.

You've done a good job since I gave you free reign of the GPX Tony, but you also don't have to be shy in asking me to turn in a promo or help out with them. I just thought you guys had a good grip on things, and combined with my schedule, as well as my work on the Zack/Crystal feud AND my SWF ventures, writing for two more guys probably wouldn't have done the GPX justice. You've built them well, and I'm happy to see my creations with the gold.

Probably not, as I literally was the only person to vote for them.

More on topic: A very enjoyable show and the tag division is looking great right about now. My match doesn't look too bad, but I'll be damned if it didn't give me more hassle than it really should have.

Pfft, he was riding my coattails to tag team gold and glory in the WF FIRST, so NYAH.

...nyah. Awesome show, although I'm questioning having two guys without set handlers as tag champs, but I'm interested to see how it works out.

Well, they are my babies, so I can take control. It's just that Tony and Eski had the long feud planned out, and it was easier for the two of them to write alongside each other rather than me juggling three guys.

And I ride no one's coattails!

Awesome show, agree with everything said (saves me going into details :) )

I'm glad everyone's enjoying the tag team scene. GPX finally won the gold, but don't think Black T are finished yet, not by a long shot. Look out for some BIG things to happen in the division soon, including a crazy match at AngleSlam...

Chris Bryte/Panther was a high quality match. Too high quality for a mere HeldDOWN! It was also long. So long that when I tried to run the concert next to it, a good portion of the concert got cut off.

Yeah, sorry about that. I probably would've had the match be a lot shorter, but since I'm still trying to figure out Bryte's style, I decided to go through with the full match just so I have a better idea of how to handle their eventual rematch. The match was pretty long though, and it probably would've been a lot longer but I cut out a lot of Panther's comeback in the end to get it in on time.

As for my feedback (all late), I was really feeling the show all the way through. The stuff with Hoff and Chris Stevens was awesome, I loved Axel's promo, and the tag title match was great. And even though I was hoping The Boss would turn out to be a talking goldfish (DAMN YOU!), Rick's segment was probably my favorite on the show (close between that and the Hoff/Stevens match). The fight scene was well done, I'll be damned if I didn't mark for Father's robot. It was so over the top, but it worked well. Great show.
