Madden

Recommended Posts

I have 2k5 already, and with the feedback and such I'm sticking with 2k5. Besides, hockey is coming out in a few weeks. With the lock-out looming, I'll need a fix.

Damn, the new Madden exceeded my expectations. The hit stick is quite fun to use. I hit Daunte Culpepper with it when he tried to rush and fractured his hip, which ended his career.

I've heard nothing but good things about this year's Madden. Although as Exslade stated, I'm pretty satisfied with ESPN.....I doubt i'll get two nfl games.

To quote IGN, "If you have $70, get both games. If you have $20, borrow $30 and get Madden."

The comment about ESPN being more like a real game was correct. I've had some very real games thus far against other people, with scores like 17-7 and such. Also, some teams are just plain better than others, which also makes it more realistic. No one should be able to pick up, say, the Cardinals, and run game on the Patriots for example.

I picked up Madden yesterday and was blown away by the sheer speed of it. That might sound dumb to some of you, but I haven't played Madden in a couple years (sticking with just NCAA in the meantime). It used to be the college game played a lot faster, and while it has stayed the same speed, I think they put Madden in overdrive since I've been away from it.

The Hit Stick seems like a nice idea, but the game moves so fast right now, I'm lucky to just be able to keep up with the play.

Ha. I know what you mean. I never used playmaker controls in '04 after the snap. Must be my old age or something...

i got my collector's edition last monday at a gamestop that was having a similar NFL party as was mentioned before (of course the shipment was LATE after they told all the preorder people it would be there at a certain time)

its so killer

there are computer trades so far in mine btw

my one complaint is on the CE it should have been 2 discs cramming on all that extra stuff causes a little slowdown compared to the regualr PS2 edition (not during gameplay just all the inbetween stuff)

where are the codes???

i only found one so far on videogames.com (a TJ Duckett gold card code)

OK, you said computer trades -- Are you meaning that when in a franchise mode the computer will make trades in-between teams not controlled by you?

And I wish they would have included the first Madden game, too. I LOVED that game's music. And when you were playing a tourney they would show the final minute or so of close games. I always remember seeing Chicago lose to San Fran 13-6 because they could never score a last-second TD...

I get to wait till September 8th since I only have my PC now.

Darrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Damn, another month? Oh well, I prefer PC anyway. $10 off from the PS2 price and another $15 from EA for B-Day makes it nicer. $25, isn't bad for Madden.

Wait, you get $15 for your b-day? Mine is on September 4th, right before it comes out so it will be a good birthday present.

Lol, my B-Day is September 4th too. I think if you register your game they'll send you one around your next B-Day. I got one last year too.

And we are both turning 21.

I don't know if it's because i'm used to using the PUTRID offense of the Ohio Bobcats on NCAA, but the passing on Madden is striking me as shockingly easy. I'm playing with the Browns and I'm throwing for almost 300 yards a half without breaking a sweat. I almost feel guilty about getting away with some of the bullshit passes I've completed.

Yeah Madden has always seemed to allow crazy bordering on bullshit catches, but it sounds like you need to turn up the difficulty.

Does pass interference exist on Madden? Seems like it doesn't based on my screwings as of late. Or maybe it's me not playing a football game since Madden '93 on SNES.

I'm amazed how easy it is to create a team of fucking MONSTERS, though.

Yeah that's one thing I always found to be far too easy with Madden is the franchise mode. I've never hit a snag creating an all-powerful team until I started playing ESPN, what with all the signing bonus shit and all...
