Serious Moments You Found Funny

Recommended Posts

Guest The Decadent Slacker

I second the bloody Vince peer over the apron. Gave me this great Wile E. Coyote vibe.

HHH ruining the renewel of his wedding vows. Jesus, that was bad, yet good in a pathetically funny way.

HHH ruining the Test/Stephanie wedding. The whole angle was pretty dumb (the wedding, not the following 6-8 months of storylines), but man, i still laugh at the whole Vegas wedding & having everyone sell it as the most evil thing ever. If he had the same cHHHarisma he did then, i'd love him again.

And of course, the nWo murdering the Rock with the semi. Ruined what is still my favorite RAW moment ever.

And WCW doesn't disappoint me... I was going to give this Thunder a glowing review, but then they had to go and do this:

Big Poppa Pump hits one of the security guys with the pipe and his leg falls off upon impact. OK, not completely off, but everything under the knee just dangles.

Not bent at an awkward angle, not twisted the wrong way. If the guy was wearing shorts, his leg would have fallen off.

PIPE-SWORD!

I laugh during the Lita/Kane stuff, that counts, right?

very obscure one. I think it was in late 88, early 89, on Prime Time when The Brooklyn Brawler attacked Gorilla Monsoon. The Brawler comes storming out of a locker and nails Monsoon from behind with a chair. Monsoon, who I believe hadn't taken a bump in about 10 years at this point, VERY akwardly and gingerly collapses face first into the broadcast table. For some reason I could not stop laughing. To see Gorilla just laying face down "knocked out" while Heenan is going crazy in the background was hilarious to me. They played it off as a serious angle, but to see the 60-70 yr' old Monsoon take a TERRIBLE looking bump was just funny to me.

I can't believe someone put this.......

This is hands down....one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

The Triple H-Stephanie-Vince renewal of the vows. Especially cause HHH had this huge grin on his face the whole time. Vince telling the audience to stop chanting What? was hilarious. Oh and HHH coming out to his own music was gold.

How about during the Austin-HHH stuff from 2001:

JR: THERE'S NO ANCHOR TIED TO HIS ASS!

Kido, I would kill to see a tape of this again. I swear I was only 8 or 9 at the time, but this was one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my life and I will always remember it. It happened 16 years ago and yet I can remember every single detail. I literally laughed for about 20-30 minutes after seeing it for the first time. I wish Wrestlecrap or someone could put it on their site, it is THAT FUNNY. Hopefully more people other than you and I have seen it, but like I said, it is very obscure.

When Foley and Funk were tossed off the stage in the dumpster and everyone "broke character" to check on them for the better part of an hour.

I was just laughing at how ludicrous the entire scenario was.

How about RVD/Kane vs. LOD? It wasn't really meant to be serious, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't meant to be comedy either. I wish I had that whole match on tape. It was hilarious.

How do you think I felt?

I was there LIVE for that match!

I actually do have this one tape. I don't have the episode of Prime Time that it was on, it's shown on a episode of SNME from 1989 I believe. Here's exactly what happens.

Bobby Heenan is sitting on the set when the Red Rooster is brought on for whatever reason(him and Heenan were feuding around this time), and Heenan wanted to apologize to him for what has been going on lately between the two. Heenan then proceeds to slap him in the face, when off set the Brooklyn Brawler runs up and hits Monsoon with a wooden stool right in the face/head. Then as Heenan yells out some of the funniest stuff ever(GET HIM....SLAM HIM through that!!!), Brawler then bodyslams Rooster through a medal storage cabinet.

FUNNIEST. SHIT. EVER.

The HBK-HHH promo on RAW leading up to their Summerslam match(HBK's comeback match). HHH was revealed as the guy who attacked HBK, and it was just hilarious because HBK was trying to be so serious during this promo.

"I have to show my son that sometimes.... it's OK to fight!"

"You know, the doctor said I should be healthy and ready to come back in a couple of months.... maybe around.. ohhh.... SUMMERSLAM!!! <serious look into camera>

I taped that and watched it about 10 times over and over that night and couldn't stop laughing.

No, the funniest was HBK no selling being crippled and dancing around after pooping out of a wheel chair.

Play SD 5, and they actually USE THAT FOR STORYLINES. Seeing Rodney Mack or BATISTA do that is too fucking funny.

Not as funny as Old School Taker. So surreal yet funny as hell.

I also remember being amused when Vader broke Yokozuna's leg.

Oh, & the Ministry sacrificing poor Phineas I. Godwinn in late '98-early '99. Wish Taker would bring back his pseudo-Latin.

Speaking of Vader and Guerrilla Monsoon, the segment where Vader attacks then President Monsoon was just too hillarious to me and my brothers. That must have been early 96 after Vader debuted in the Rumble (I'm going off shady memories but I think that's right.) Vader was just laying chops on the helpless Monsoon, and then Vaderbombs him. The scene of helpless old man being brutally attacked was repeatedly re-inacted in our living room. :D

Unless RAW got scatalogical and I missed that week's installment, I think this is the funniest unintentional thing in the thread, moreso than any reference.

This scene was priceless. I especially liked the styrofoam popping up out of the dumpster when they were thrown in it. They replayed this like 20 times during the broadcast, and it was even more funny in slow motion.

The nWo beatdown at Disney MGM. Rey getting darted into the trailer had my dying.

YES, I thought I was the only one.

All of my friends thought I was a sick bastard, as I was the only one watching it live to fall to the ground laughing. I was an nWo mark on psycho-maniacal levels though ,so that may have contributed.

Even now, I find that spot to be some funny shit.

Oops? I couldn't stop laughing for a good couple of minute after reading THAT fuck up.

"Okay. I did it. In case you didn't hear... I admit... I did it. I ran over Austin. And you ask why? I didn't do it for me... no, I didn't do it for me. I did it for...The Rock."

I'm suprise no one mentioned Survivor Series 00, when Steve Austin dropped HHH in that car like 50 feet.

And I can't forget one of my faovrite wrestling quotes of all-time, "Hey Paul Wright, your a big nasty bastard and your momma said so!" - The Big Bossman.

I remember watching RAW as HHH came out at the end of the show to build for his feud with Kane, and make a shocking revelation.

"Kane...you're a murderer!"

I laughed my ass of in disbelief at how bad that was.

Watching Bret Hart throw monitors on the ground after SS '97. Ooo Bret not the montors!

Or when Hunter was showing Trish wrestling holds and Steph walks in while Trish is bent over in front of HHH, and Steph fucking ROCKS a lamp at HHH at 99 mph missing his head by inches. HHH's reaction was priceless, looking like he just crapped his pants.

The "Sumo Monster Truck Battle" from WCW Halloween Havoc 1995.

The way Tony and Bobby went on about how Giant was dead after Hogan knocked him off the roof of Cobo Hall was funny but Hogans reaction was even better, "Help, Help". I mean he had just knocked the guy off a roof during a fight and then he was wimpering for help. It was too funny.

Then Giant appeared for the main event later on with no explination at all!

God bless WCW.
