BREAKING NEWS - NEW IWA LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION

« Thread started on: Today at 4:43pm »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have breaking news for IWA Mid-South Wrestling fans tonight, August 11th, as a new IWA Light Heavyweight Champion was crowned just moments ago!

Jimmy Jacobs scored the pinfall following the Contra Code in his IWA Light Heavyweight Title shot against Delirious tonight at the Evansville Coliseum in Evansville, IN, and is your new IWA Light Heavyweight Champion!

For those unaware, Ian Rotten has been the matchmaker for Coliseum Championship Wrestling for the past several months. CCW runs weekly events every Wednesday night at the Coliseum, and has featured previous IWA Light Heavyweight and World Heavyweight Title defenses (by former champions like Matt Sydal and BJ Whitmer). Tonight, history was made as Jimmy Jacobs earned the belt on a non-IWA event!

Jacobs will now defend his newly won title in a rematch against Delirious on 8/21 in Highland, IN at the Lincoln Center for IWA. This is Jacobs' first IWA title reign.

Hopefully, I get to be there to see Delirious regain the title on the 21st.

I think he ditched the HUSS gimmick. And that's a shame. He was really good at it. At the two shows I've seen him on (The last two ROH ohio shows) he was REALLY over with it.

Anyway, good for him! Jacobs is one of the better Light Heavyweights who doesn't rely on all flippymados. (from what I've seen, anywho)

Personally, I haven't really liked Jimmy Jacobs's non-Shelley work at all for months now. He seemed so unmotivated. He was showing little glimmers of hope at the last Highland show, so I'm more than willing to give him another chance, in case it was just the stale gimmick that was holding him back.
