PROMO: “Name of the Game.”

A montage of SWF footage from the last few months begins to play, starting with a slow-motion replay of the Dangerlust that took Nathaniel Kibagami out of commission at 13th Hour. A familiar song begins to brew in the background as image after image flashes by – Janus defeating Danny Williams for the SWF World title, Flesher’s triumph in the Best of Five Series at 13th Hour, Landon Maddix and Johnny Dangerous struggling over the ICTV title, the formation of Revolution Zero, Dace and Janus tearing each other apart, …and a strange, soft voice begins to narrate the chaos.

”This place has seen a lot of changes in the last couple of months. It’s gone through a lot…”

More clips are shown: Andrea Montgomery and the Birdman falling to 42nd Street, Manson’s USJL title win, Sean Davis capturing the HGC title –

(Get ‘em up in the back row)

”So much begins here. So much ends here. Everything’s dramatic and nothing really lasts. You can find almost anything you’d ever wish for in a place like this…”

Tom Flesher, Toxxic, and Janus go to war, Mark Stevens returns to the ring and the Suicide King resumes control of the SWF –

(Get ‘em up in the back row)

”…actually, the only thing that’s missing here…”

Toxxic stands triumphant, World title in hand, fresh off a victory over Dace Night –

(I said, get ‘em up in the back row)

The music screeches to a halt and the video montage freezes on Toxxic’s mascara-stained face, sneering out at the audience, clutching the only prize that matters –

”…is a sense of style.

Mutha’fucka –

A series of images begins to blaze across the screen – an unidentifiable young man, presumably our narrator, rocketing back and forth across the ring. He drives one opponent into the ground with a hurricane DDT, sends another flying out of the ring with a lucha-tinged hurricanrana –

(That’s the naaaaaame of the game –)

Dives through the ropes and wipes out another three nameless jobbers with a heart-stopping tope suicida hilo –

(That’s the naaaaaame of the game –)

Another clip of the narrator, all wild hair and bleach-white tights, driving another opponent into the mat with a springboard Diamond Cutter –

(That’s the naaaaaame of the game –)

Another clip, this time a picture-perfect double-jump moonsault leg drop without so much as a glance downward to see if the other man is still there –

(That’s the naaaaaame of the game –)

A low chuckle escapes the narrator as the screen fades to white and a name appears:

BRYAN LEVY

(COMING SOON TO THEATRES NEAR YOU)

“Heh heh…I liked that.”

(Calling all freaks – all freaks – all freaks –)

END

The Teebler's Mall Brawl was a one-time deal. Mark may be marking, but it's not like it's his own matches. Countless active WFers marked for the JL back in the 80s. And Kibs hasn't exactly debuted Levy yet. So whoat to you, Citrus man.

Good promo-ski, Kiiba. Yay for Levy! Yay for things!

WHOAT!

Oh, I wasn't accusing anyone of impropriety, Drea; I was just curious about whether or not it had been done before. I suppose that I pay more attention to stuff like that than I did before I got bumped.

Apropos of nothing, excluding the guys who were called up after the JL closed down, is there anyone here who never got bumped from the JL?

I believe Jay Dawg used to mark matches while he was active in the WF, but don't quote me on that.

If Levy was to become fully active, though, I bet he'd step down from his marking duties.

Oh, no, of course I wouldn't. I'd mark with little regard for right and wrong and work only to further my own nefarious ends. Preferably I'd mark my own matches, as well, so I could abuse my considerable e-fed power. I doubt CC would've noticed, too, if it weren't for those meddling kids.

All in all, I think it was a perfectly reasonable question.
