Apparently Eddie went up to them and asked which one "wanted to be a man". IIRC, this is Eddie's 3rd altercation with a crowd in the last little while. Mind you, not all of them were his fault, but his reactions are really starting to get me to believe he is feeling the burnout now more than ever, and desperately needs a break.

It's not normal for someone to be lashing out at fans like this, as a face. I really hope to god he isn't back on the dope because he really has come a long way. Give Eddie some time off, Vince.

nl5xsk1 Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 As much as I consider this to be non-news, the honest answer is that it is likely to trigger a real conversation ... it seems that everytime that Guerrero has an altercation with a fan the board is split between those that say what he did was justiable and those that say what he did was wrong. So, while it's not big news, I actually think it does deserve it's own thread. And having said all that, if Guerrero really did challenge a fan to 'be a man', he should be reprimanded in some way for it. Unless he was physically assaulted, he has no excuse for getting into it physically with a fan (or even TRYING to get into it physically).

My advice: Don't hassle Eddie, he'll beat you up. I've never read a report of Eddie beating up innocent bystanders. And to draw the conclusion that now he'll get back on drugs is completely moronic.

It's an upper-midcarder insulting and verbally attacking the fanbase. Why shouldn't it be a thread on it's own and why should the guy get banned for making the thread and over-reacting to Kido's heavy handed reaction? Hate to bring up this arguement, but if this were Bradshaw, we'd be up to page 4 by now already.

If this keeps happening, it's just a matter of time before he goes in to the crowd and something really bad happens. You never know what someone will be carrying these days. But if they were physically provoking him [like in the past with the fan dumping a beer on him] then I'm all for him kicking a little ass.

Bubba Ray Dudley made a career out of it. BuhBuh did it as a shtick and a way to generate heel heat. So far, Eddie has had one physical confrontation & two verbal ones (or the other way around, my memory's not that great) ... all as a face, and none of which were meant to generate heat or interest in the show or angle. Apples & oranges.

There is no justifiable excuse for this and I am a huge Eddie fan. Just think if this were to take place in a major sporting event. I mean I believe it was Vernon Maxwell of the Rockets who jumped into the stands after a fan was harassing him and started fighting and he was suspended for quite a number of games. Plus there was that thing with the Yankees at Fenway last year and those players were suspended. Frankly, Eddie should have been punished the first time, and the second time he did it he should have been sent home, champion or no champion.

If it's the latter then Eddie definately needs some time off.
