Big Show comes back

Recommended Posts

Main event interview: Brock calls out Big Show and tells off a terrified Heyman. Show comes out to answer, and Brock destroys him with a chair and leaves him laying and bleeding. Well, that’s certainly a unique way to build up your monster heel in the last Smackdown before the PPV. I hope this isn’t one of those deals where the last guy standing is the one who loses at the PPV, because I don’t think I can deal with a universe where Paul Wight is the champion again. (Nov. 14th)

They can't build a strong monster heel as long as Shane McMahon is still lurking somewhere. We should know that by now.

Shane went out of his way several times to derail strong pushes for Show and Kane.

I think people who think Big Show is lazy expect him to work like Rey Misterio and hate him because he doesn't. It's a little humorous.

If Big Show does come back, he should go on a rampage and destroy Angle and Bradshaw in the same night. Interrupt an Angle interview and chokeslam him, and then later on when Bradshaw is cutting an anti-Undertaker promo, have Big Show come out and no-sell the clothesline from Hell, and kick his ass too. It will set up tag-team matches and interesting matches between Angle and Taker and JBL and Show, and vice versa.

Put McLarge Friend Of Hogan and Mr. ECW in the 'some smarks want these guys to headline nevermind that neither have done squat to justify it' headline feud of the year and watch it make Bradshaw look like Ric Flair by comparison..........

I'm a Big Show mark, and I am proud of it. The guy tries, and most of the time he has watchable matches. He has improved so much (go watch something from 2000 and compare it to his 2003 stuff) and that is clearly due to his effort. I am looking forward to his return, as SD needs stars and he is a big one that will really help out the show, just due to his presence.

Big show realistically can probably beat everyone, but he doen'st get enough pushes. Maybe his time has passed

Doesn't get ENOUGH pushes, WTF????

This would be, what, Big Show push #273?

I won't say he's been held down, but I will say monsters can't do jobs and manage to maintain all of their value. Kane is another example of this, as he's gone from the #1 ratings draw to a guy in a neverending sideways push.

He should definitely be working less matches. It should be a huge deal every time he has a match.

You act like he's Test.

The pushes don't fail because of Show himself, they fail because everytime he gets some momentum, he jobs to Shane McMahon or someone along those lines.

Think about it. Three separate times, just as show was possibly getting somewhere (Spring 00, Spring 01, Fall 01) He did a big job to SHANE MCMAHON.

It occurs to me how convenient all this love for the Big Show is everytime he's been gone for a few months.

His pushes each of those times had fizzled out--spr 00 he was dead by Wrestlemania, spr 01 same, fall 01 don't know what push you're referring to. You forgot summer 2000 where he ate his way back to OVW.

Oh the hilarity if Test showed up at Smackdown and they did a Test/Show tag team, what would Sault do?

but I will say monsters can't do jobs and manage to maintain all of their value

That's the problem, EVERYONE does jobs (yes even good ol' HHH) at some point. How do expect to realistically give Big Show a Goldberg-esque run and not kill the company? Yeah it worked for Andre, different timeframe I might add.

IF HE'S NOT WRESTLING EVERY WEEK, HE'S NOT BEATING EVERYONE. DON'T PUT HIM AGAINST ANYONE YOU DON'T WANT LOSING.

Hopefully, that'll sink in sooner or later.

They're semi-doing that with the Undertaker, you act if Show has built up that much credibility.

So I'm guessing Big Show will come back and immediately get sacrificed to Angle and Undertaker.

I've never understood how the WWF has never been able to book him.

Show has done so many jobs that beating him doesn't really mean a lot. I don't think show needs to be made strong for his own benefit, but a wrestler can get a huge shove off of beating him, and that's why he needs to be kept strong, only jobbing very occasionally either to build challengers or to further good storylines.

It's true everyone has to job sometime, but the man lost to JEFF HARDY A MONTH BEFORE BECOMING WWF CHAMPION. Now that is S.T.U.P.I.D.

Before WWE Big Show re-programming 9764. Of course I thought the whole 'My name is The Big Show, and I want the WWE title' bit was stupid too since it only devalued Brock all that considered. They should have left it at where he took out the Undertaker and called that good, then spend three months beating up Rikishi, Mysterio, and the SD jobbers maybe get in a feud with Benoit then Taker comes back.

Bradshaw lost to Rikishi a week before he became a main eventer. Now that is stupid.

I thought according to most here Bradshaw being WWE Champion in and of itself was stupid, not even mentioning whether he jobs or not.

I think they should gice him his old name, The Giant, and push him as that and only let him wrestle maybe 1 smackdown a month and the SD! PPV's.

Where he turned face and was built as a top challenger to the "Fac-gime". He promptly hurt his knee, and rather than work that into, you know, anything, they decided the best way to keep some momentum was to job to the boss' son.

spr 01 same

The Rumble to Mania run wasn't so terrible, save the Hardcore title job at Mania, but when they had Show just absolutely flip out on Shane, they could have really had something going with the "Mentally unstable angry Giant" role.

So they jobbed him to Shane.

fall 01 don't know what push you're referring to

The Survivor Series elimination where they booked him as a guy who finally found his focus and could be Team WWE's ace in the hole.

So he did the first job of the match.

To Shane.

Instead of Big Show's earthshaking return I'd rather watch you flip out when Show gets dealt to RAW and his first two jobs are to Orton and Test :D

Top challenger to the Fac-gime? You mean over Rock, Jericho, or even Rikishi? You mean 'The Showster'? Comedy gimmicks are just that, see Eugene. He also acquired a larger frame during this time.

but when they had Show just absolutely flip out on Shane

And somebody actually cared? Wow he's flipping out on Shane again, never mind he did the same thing last year and was back with him two months later!!!!!

The Survivor Series elimination where they booked him as a guy who finally found his focus and could be Team WWE's ace in the hole.

You mean 'he can't be the Big Slow tonight' push? Hey here's an idea, he should have gotten ANGLE in the first pin of the match, would that have been better?

What is this, Big Show=Benoit night? Wait a minute.....

(Image of Benoit sending Big Show tumbling to win the Royal Rumble)

HE'S BEING MISUSED I TELLS YA!!!!!!!

On an episode of SD!, they built Big Show, Rikishi, The Dudleyz and someone (maybe Jericho) as a force to fight The McMahons.

The ideal situation would be to remove Shane from the equation and have him flip out on real wrestlers.

How about Shane pins no one?

And I'm supposed to be impressed where? Yeah push Big Show over Jericho, Benoit, and Angle. How about that?

Of course I didn't bring that up originally as an example, you did.

How about Shane pins no one?

Actually I was talking about Big Show hypothetically pinning Angle.

So when did this 'conversion' happen anyway?

Why not push him along with those three? Besides, Angle and Benoit were heels at that point, so pushing Show against the McMahons would have no real effect on them.

Of course I didn't bring that up originally as an example, you did.

I brought up that the idea of a mentally unstable heel monster (without jobbing to the boss' kid) could have been a nice character. They had something going and decided to use it to push Shane.

Late in the match it would have been fine. If it was the first elimination, it would have been moronic, but if it was in the last three or four (Like Angle's was) it could have worked.

So when did this 'conversion' happen anyway?

What conversion.

Show him as the next Andre, how hard can it be?

I have to wonder if it's because Vince honestly respects Andre and worries that such a gimmick would tarnish his memory, but then I remember all the other angles that Vince has thought up of and shake my head.

Also, I have to wonder what Show did to piss people off since he's always put in shitty angles, jobbing to fucking cruiserweights and cripples and non-wrestlers, yet I've never heard any story about him stirring up shit backstage or refusing to do a match or an angle.

That's just it;

He's a nice guy who doesn't play politics and doesn't mind putting talent over and doing the job...

Those are the kind of guys who get fucked in the ass

Not saying that Show will do the same, but taking advantage of "Nice Guy" kurt Angle and constantly putting him in useless midcard feuds and jobbing him to midcarders to "put them over" may be what has turned Angle into a monster.
