Norris "Hardbody" Harrison Jr.

Recommended Posts

Former WCW wrestler Norris "Hardbody" Harrison Jr. was arrested on 8/18 and charged with forcing three women into prostitution as a way to force them to repay their debts to him as reported by NBC affiliate WXIA Channel 11 in Atlanta.

Harrison, who lives in Cartersville, Georgia, was arrested the day after one of the women approached a police officer and alleged that she was being held against her will. Three of the seven women with Harrison at the time claimed they were forced into prostitution.

According to the article, Georgia investigators contend that Harrison would claim to help the women by paying their bail fines and helping them find housing. Once he gained their confidence, however, he would allegedly force them to prostitute for him until they had paid off their debts to him.

Harrison, 38, is currently charged with three counts of false imprisonment and is currently free on $55,000 bond.

He wrestled for WCW in the late 1990s, mostly appearing on WCW Saturday Night. He was among the wrestlers involved in Sonny Onoo's lawsuit against AOL Time Warner from awhile back, claiming that WCW paid them less than white performers and failed to promote them on nationally televised shows.

In an Atlanta-Journal Constitution article on the lawsuit, Harrison described his time in WCW. "I found myself lost in the shuffle, I was sold into slavery. They told me they weren't hiring, but I kept seeing all these other white guys coming in getting contracts and leapfrogging past me."

That lawsuit was later settled out of court.

I always got Hardbody Harrison confused with "Hard Work" Bobby Walker. And then there's Ice Train, and OH GOODNESS SO MANY ROIDED BLACK MEN ON SATURDAY NIGHT WHAT IS A BOY TO DO?

Whip out....a poster of Randy Orton and take a 5 minute break in the bathroom.

Heh, I just had a former WCW employee tell me about this today. His take on Hardbody: "An idiot. A really thorough, complete idiot."

The only time I ever saw "Hardbody" Harrison was on a show here in the UK called "Louis Theroux's Weird Weekends".

It was a series about American sub-cultures and it did on on Wrestling.

The particular show was about wrestling. Louis went to WCW and went backstage before Nitro, meeting guys like Roddy Piper, Goldberg and Alex Wright, and later went to the Power Plant to watch the guys train. "Hardbody" was amongst them, as were guys like Kwee-Wee and Chuck Palumbo. Anyway, "The Sarge", who teamed with Goldberg at Sin 2001 and head trainer at the Power Plant, made poor Louis train until he puked and generally treated him like crap because he asked about stoylines in wrestling. What an asshole.

Anyway, that was the only time I saw "Hardbody" Harrison.

I always get Hardbody Harrison confused with Hardwork Bobby Walker. I think Hardbody Harrison had his hair bleached and had his beard bleached, therefore making him look like James Earl Jones in the Cay (That's a 10 for obscure references). I remember Hardwork Bobby Walker rising to the level of JTTS. In fact I remember seeing Bobby Walker squash a young Jamie Noble on WCW Saturday Night.

Hardbody Harrison sometimes _did_ dress like a pimp on WCW SN, so I'm not surprised. I remember one time he came out in like a blue ring jacket, with his hair really weird and dyed almost a gold color, and I think he had a cane too.

I think there might be a pic of him in DDTdigest.com's downfall of WCW in pictures page. Man WCW Saturday Night and WCW Worldwide were some of my favorite shows as a mark. I almost always enjoyed the midcarders more than the main eventers in WCW even as a mark. This thread brings back some good memories. Dammit someone post a Gambler thread!

I believe Hardbody fell into the pool on one of those spring break episodes of Nitro, I believe it was against kevin Sullivan. If that is true, and I know it off hand, that is the dorkiest thing of all time.

Was he the one who tried to sue WCW? Saying he got fired cause he was black, and NOT because he was a completly awful worker?

It was either him or Walker. Who's basic defense was that he was a great athlete who was great at everything he did, THUS he was a great wrestler.

Yeah, there's a reason why Buddy Lee Parker is sitting on his ass at home instead of training wrestlers for the WWE.

He was, for the most part, a terrible wrestler turned terrible trainer. He kept his wrestlers in top physical shape, but beyond that, did shit.

Actually his still uses the power plant facility to train wrestlers for a small indy promotion in the southeast called the W.W.A. New Jack has even guest trained there...which can tell you the quality of the work *cough*

I don't remember him actually being in WCW, but I remember seeing him on those FX toughman shows and they'd say he was in WCW. He wore like half a pair of pants or something. There was one leg that went the whole way down then the other leg wasn't even there.
