Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 28, 2004 Blech....nothing looks too good, and the stuff that does will probably not be as good as I expect. Styles/Truth vs. Kash/Luggage: I don't know, Kash is not one of my favorite in ring workers, and Dallas sucks worse than Sid when it comes to wrestling, so this won't be too good. Triple Threat Tag: Clusterfuck, City U.S.A. Probably either a cheap win by the Naturals or AMW win for the 76th time. Williams/Dutt: Dutts OK, but he's not high on my favorites list, and Williams does nothing for me, so this is a pass for me. Team Canada vs. 3LK + 1: If we get the Midnight Rider I'll never watch a TNA PPV again. Didn't Rhodes sell the MR gear off ebay last year? Kazarian & Shane vs. Sabin & Red: This has a chance to be good, but it will probably be no more than a ** match. Overall another $10 I don't have to spend on PPV. I'll just buy a cheap ass DVD or something instead.
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted August 28, 2004 This show's not gonna be too good. Shane/Kaz vs. Red/Sabin could be okay, and Petey/Sonjay could be good. But the Rest? Not so much.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted August 28, 2004 Wow, ANOTHER absolutely pointless PPV. Classy of TNA to provide something actually worth $10. -=Mike
Guest Donners Report post Posted August 29, 2004 The street fight could be good, and the title matches are reasonably interesting. They're obviously going to stack the final weekly PPV though.

Guest Donners Report post Posted August 31, 2004 I like the way Jamal doesn't rate a mention in the Emancipation match. They sure forgot about him quickly... Incidentally, if the Hardy vs. Jarrett thing continues its font size increase, it'll be taking up a full screen by next week...
Guest The Decadent Slacker Report post Posted August 31, 2004 Alright, i haven't seen Dallas in action, how bad is he? Does the fact he looks exactly like Test speak enough volumes by itself? Are they trying to make their final shows bad in order to blow the roof off for their final weekly PPV? Or is it that they alternately forget they have fans? Guest Donners Report post Posted August 31, 2004 Alright, i haven't seen Dallas in action, how bad is he? Does the fact he looks exactly like Test speak enough volumes by itself? Actually, he has the same look and movelist as Nash IMO. He's not too awful for somebody used in a bit part.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2004 I don't care. I only pay to watch Monte Brown, and he aint even booked.
Guest Donners Report post Posted August 31, 2004 He'll be there, I'm sure. He's already been involved in the Jarrett/Hardy build-up, and I honestly could see the September 8 match being swerved into a triple-threat.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2004 I like the way Jamal doesn't rate a mention in the Emancipation match. They sure forgot about him quickly.. That was a big, stupid mistake on TNA's part. The bookers didn't tell Tenay/West if Jamal had a "figurative" TNA contract (one that Goldy could win), so when Jamal lost, one of them just had to say, "Goldy owns Jamal's contract!" because they were never told he lacked a contract. I thought I was the only one who picked up on it.

Won't make the match any better or the fued more entertaining. Building a company around the likes of Jarrett, Hardy, and Monty Brown is nothing short than a recipe for disaster. Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted August 31, 2004 I find it hilarious that this is the show that they have been BUILDING to. I would have to agree with Mike......TOTALLY POINTLESS.

He's simply Heidenreich with better mic skills. -=Mike
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted September 1, 2004 No Mike, I've seen Heidenreich in Zero One. Monte is miles better than Heidenreich.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2004 Monte should have stuck to how he did things in 2002 when he just started. You know...he was moving around and did things DESPITE being a big man, not BECAUSE he was a big man.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted September 1, 2004 No Mike, I've seen Heidenreich in Zero One. Monte is miles better than Heidenreich. As I've said more than once --- if somebody sucks where I can see them, I'm not going to expend the effort to see if they suck elsewhere. I'll just assume that the suckage is consistent and be done with it. From what I've seen, Brown is no better in the ring than Heidenreich. -=Mike
Magus 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2004 Brown's got some good things going for him, but no way is he going to approach greatness. He's only being set up to do the job to Jarrett when the time comes anyways, so it doesn't matter. Brown could be much more effective if he weren't booked as a generic Hoss wrestler. Being big and strong doesn't magically make your match fun to watch, and with TNA's boring booking style, Monty's not much to mark out for.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2004 with TNA's boring booking style, Monty's not much to mark out for. Even though he is getting the biggest pops of the night despite being a heel?
Guest Donners Report post Posted September 1, 2004 I'm not a hoss fan, but Brown has more natural charisma than a significant percentage of wrestlers. He almost has a Don Callis-like ability to make pretty much anything look and sound good outside the ring. That counts for a hell of a lot. If he can get to the point of being solid in the ring, where a guy like AJ could carry him to ***+ and even an average wrestler could put on a watchable contest with him, then he could be a huge boon for TNA. Guest Staravenger Report post Posted September 1, 2004 Trying to say Monte Brown is at the level of John Heidenreich is the biggest pile of crap since Tito Jackson. Brown has a very impressive look, but isn't a complete slug in the ring. He also can cut an entertaining promo, while Heidenwhatever needs a mouth piece. Both men played pro football, so thats the only even comparison they had.
