Edge Injured Again...

Recommended Posts

As we noted on the newsline yesterday, Edge was injured during his match with Chris Jericho in Salt Lake City on Saturday night. Edge took a nasty bump on the outside of the ring during the early part of the match and started screaming that he had been injured while performing the spot.

We've heard reports over the weekend that he took a nasty fall on his back or hip and immediately knew something was wrong when he landed.

The match was completely stopped and EMT's came to the ring to attend to him. Edge refused a stretcher and walked to the back with help from several of the agents.

Edge was in a tremendous amount of pain backstage and the last report we received (and this is just pre-examination), this was a pretty serious injury.

We hope to get an update later today.

I don't want to say "good" because I really don't want to encourage harm to anyone...but Edge has pretty much sucked since coming back. He's bored me so much, in fact, that I dread hearing his name. Before his last injury, back when he was still on Smackdown, he was actually one of the names that I enjoyed.

Boy, how times have changed.

Wow, that's a shame. Really, No I...

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I give you the most injury-prone wrestler in the history of the WWF/E

What's the list? Shoulder, neck, wrist, and now back/hip? All in the span of 2-3 years? That's God-awful. Someone forgot how to take bumps.

ANYWAYS, what I said in the other thread no one will ever see is:

From lordsofpain.net:

cbadc sent in the following:

I just got back from Salt Lake City's House Party Raw Live (28 Aug 04). Edge was injured several minutes into his and Y2J's match. Y2J threw edge over the ropes and onto the ground. When edge did not get up, several trainers ran up to him and were checking out his leg. Y2J just watched from inside the ring. After 10 minutes, a gentleman came up to the referee and whispered something into his ear. The referee then proceeded to do a count out, giving the match to Y2J. Y2J immediately jumped out of the ring and kneeled next to Edge. After several more minutes they carried Edge out of the arena.

Far be it from me to wish harm on another human being, but if this keeps him off of my TV, I'm a happy man.

To be fair I bet all of the injuries were from the TLC matches. This cannot be good news as it means more pointless Diva Search or Tough Enough segments. Maybe now Tajiri & Rhyno can get more tv time.

Have Christian or both Hardy's been this injury prone in the last few years? Christian just recently took time off for his back, and Matt's knee is pretty beat up. Buit other than that, it pales in comparison to Edge's amount of injuries.

Oh and Jeff's on Heroin and became a flagrant homosexual. But was that really a direct result of the TLC matches?

Christian and Matt were trying to see who could go the longest without having to take time off for injury and I think Matt won. The Dudleys seem healthy. Jeff is "over there". So Edge is either very injury prone or cursed.

Either way, maybe Batista will get the belt. Or maybe Jericho.

I wonder what's that on his shirt?

Batista should have won the belt at Summerslam.

This is really unfortunate for Edge though. He is underrated around these parts, at least as far as his in-ring work is concerned. He is a much better worker than Christian is.

THis truly sucks. Edge is one of the few wrestlers I enjoy watching. I hope he comes out of this okay.

OK, NO more gloating about the injury putting Edge out.

If I come back and see more of it, I'm closing the thread.

If people take the gloating to another thread after I've closed this one, I'll change their member status to "Banned from the WWE folder" indefinitely.

It's currently 4:00 Central Standard Time on 8/29/04. Any comments made after this point are fair game, understand?

I hate that someone got hurt.

I'm glad that this means that I don't have to have Edge bringing the suck on RAW anymore for a while. To me, he's pretty much one of the most worthless guys in WWE.

Now that I think about it, and if it's not too serious, this might be the best thing that could have happened to him. His face run was, to put it gently, falling flat. When he returns, he should make a huge impact by instantly turning heel.

No showing up being a face for a week or two and then turning heel. He should come out, and make an impact as a heel instantly. Not by speaking either...but by actually doing something.

It also wouldn't hurt if he started going by his real name once he turns. I could even see him getting a very good manager to be by his side. A heel Edge is fine, but I can do without him ever being a face again.

Salt Lake City does that to people (usually kills them slowly, but edge took the fast route). It's just sad he is injured from a simple bump to the outside. Seems he is the kind of wrestler that they should send to OVW. I don't know the extent of what it looked like (I wasn't paying money for that crap), but I hope it wasn't as pussy as it sounds.

I think injury prone needs to be defined more. I mean missing 1 - 2 months isn't THAT bad. Missing 6 months etc consistently is injury prone.

This sucks if he's out for a while. Edge has been one of my favourite wrestlers for a while and I was really enjoying him since his comeback. The pop he got at Vengeance for winning the belt was huge.

All the Edge-haters seem to hate him for stupid petty reasons so I don't take much stock in what they say

I'm surprised it happened in a match with Jericho. You almost never hear something like that happening...hope he'll take enough time off to get healthy.

Edge is injured again while Orton walks around healthy with the title. This does not compute...

"All" is an unfair generalization.

I think Edge is boring as hell right now, but I chalk it more up to having been gone so long, the extent of his injuries, and not really having much direction since his return. For a guy who has gone through what he did, he's been doing a great job wrestling. It's just that his character is blah to me.

Well Orton was pretty injury prone himself for a time and he's been hurt free since June 2003.

Hopefully this is just a scare and nothing more. I was really enjoying Edge's character and his feud with Y2J

Why are they feuding again?
