Edge Injured Again...

Recommended Posts

Guest wildpegasus
Salt Lake City does that to people (usually kills them slowly, but edge took the fast route). It's just sad he is injured from a simple bump to the outside. Seems he is the kind of wrestler that they should send to OVW. I don't know the extent of what it looked like (I wasn't paying money for that crap), but I hope it wasn't as pussy as it sounds.

KJ

A lot of people get hurt on the apron of the ring as it's a very dangerous spot such as Dynamite nailing his back on the apron against Davey Boy in their New Japan junior tournament match. There are other examples of wrestlers getting hurt but I just can't think of any right now.

WP -- Who cringed went Benoit hit his back on the apron in the ironman match against HHH.

I think because Jericho tossed out of that little rumble, but they haven't really mentioned that anymore. I think that's what started it though.

Well Orton was pretty injury prone himself for a time and he's been hurt free since June 2003.

Hopefully this is just a scare and nothing more. I was really enjoying Edge's character and his feud with Y2J

Why are they feuding again?

Because there can only be one Canadian that makes crappy jokes as a face.

Jericho cost Edge a shot at the world title by eliminating him from the battle royal. Edge thought they had agreed to work together and claims that if Jericho didn't turn and eliminate him, Orton wouldn't have won. Jericho claims it was perfectly fine for him to toss Edge as it was every man for himself and he was just trying to win. It escalated from there as neither one wants to lower his ego and admit they were wrong.

I have plenty of reasons that I dislike Edge now, and always have since he's been a singles face.

I can't stand him talking on the mic, it just makes me want to pull my hair out when he says just about anything. He tries to make jokes, but to me he comes off like some immature brat that you'd want to beat up in school. I can't stand his face whe he's a...face, he just doesn't have the look to pull it off for me. I also hate his current moveset. It was fine when he was in tags with Christian, I loved them both then, but I feel it's time for him to change up his moves from top to bottom. All the way from his attempts at "flying" to his finisher.

It's just, almost nothing that he does, fits how he looks to me.

I want him as a heel, with a new series of moves, with a new name. The guy has a bit of talent, but I don't like how they are using him right now.

I never understood why Edge then agreed with Jericho that it was perfectly fine for him to toss him out and that he would've tossed Jericho out also...then started crying about him doing so.

Now that Edge is hurt who will take his spot? It is not a good day when 3 of the "veteran" midcard stars get hurt. Who will take over for Christian, Matt Hardy, Edge? Has Shelton Benjamin improved his interview/promo skills any? Will WWE rush to get Jimmy Snuka Jr. on tv now? Will Raw be stuck with the 2 match format now that they don't have any healthy wrestlers left?

True. His moveset just strikes me as "light", for lack of a better term. Nothing befitting a guy who's due for the big title and who WWE wants us to believe belongs in the upper card. His moveset seems stuck in the SmackDown Six era, with nothing too threatening, and mostly stuff more suitable to short spurts, comebacks, etc. His moveset is almost bizarre, coming from this 6'5" guy who should have more impactful stuff.

His character sucks too. Serious inside the ring, yet cracking wise and trying to match wits on the mic and dancing around on the stage like a goof, which these days comes across as almost desperation, unnatural in some ways. Because of that, his latest attempts to be serious by calling out Evolution, to be the man to take them down can only be seen as a joke, and his blandness since the comeback isn't helping. I can say people would've gotten sick of that eventually.

They'll do the same thing they always do when the Raw roster has deficiences--they'll call up some folks from the B-show. I can't wait for Batista/Eddy for the IC title; can you?

Isn't his WWE-xaggerated height 6'4"? So I doubt he's even that tall. Plus, Edge used to be very lanky and even now his physique is hardly even the fit-n-trim Hollywood Rock size, let alone your standard WWE main eventer.

Paging Val Venis...

Benjamin should be ready to be back on TV. They could have Christian be a non-wrestling talker for a bit too.

This is not good for them, though. Anyone expecting Jimmy Snuka Jr to be an "impact player" is pretty mistaken. Mark Magnus is way too green. Nova is ready but is too small (and is using a lower midcard gimmick on the house shows). Matt Morgan is the best guy who could make an impact but he's just a generic hoss at this point (although he's got good mic skills). Johnny Jeter is good but at best he's Jericho sans great mic skills (Jeter is okay on the mic). There's some other guys who should be called up as tag teams ASAP but don't really show enough for a big singles push.

The two guys from OVW who could hold down an upper midcard spot are stuck in tag teams (Rob Conway and Doug Basham) and don't get mic time.

Well too bad for Edge. I heard the original storyline was supposed to progress until Christian returned and Edge and Jericho would put aside their differences and re-form their tag team to take on Tomko and Christian. Wonder what will happen now.

Time to petition they give Batista the belt!

Now Val Venis I can deal with. I like him many times over more than Edge.

They should have continued to push Val when he was stuck in that feud with Rikishi. If I remember correctly they had a few pretty good matches, got very bloody, and Val let a lot show back then. If they gave him an actual push, over an extended period of time, I bet he could get huge. I've always thought that about the guy.

Take it from one crap wrestler and put it on another crap wrestler?

At the very least, Batista has shown more character and charisma than Edge.

Hmmm. I was referring to wrestling ability.

Benjamin is the best choice in my opinion.

He has good mic skills(watch TWGTT's impression of the APA before WMXX), and he is a great wrestler.

He could make a great IC champion, before he goes to the main event. Plus he already is recognized.

The real question is whether Edge will work through this injury or drop the belt and take time off.

Perhaps a couple months off is best for Edge. he had gotten unwatchable.

Maybe he will keep the belt and never defend it just like Trish is doing with the women's title.

I'm well aware of that, and I agree, which is why I mentioned Batista's other positives... stuff which Edge doesn't have going for him anymore.

Maybe Edge will forfeit the IC title ala Shawn Michaels at IYH and Jericho and Batista will have a match over it tomorrow night.

I was thinking, why did Edge come to RAW? They should have kept him on Smackdown!

Supposedly it was to work a program against HHH, but it never happened.

If he does forfeit the title, they should keep it vacant until the ppv. No need to crown a new IC champion right away plus guaranteeing a new champ could bump up the buy rate.

The only question is whether they have a sort of mini tournament for it (which is a great way to bring back Benjamin or Christian) or just go with the predictable Jericho/Batista matchup?

Edge loses his smile?

If it's a 2 week injury they'll keep the belt on him and hope no one notices.

A tourny would be great!

I love tournies!

And Rumbles!

THEY SHOULD HAVE A BATTLE ROYAL WITH THE FINAL 12 LEFT IN THE RING ENTERING A TOURNY AGAINST EACH OTHER!@!#$$!@

Wait.. there's not that many great wrestlers...

Although I'd love to see people like the Hurricane going for it
