Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2004 Money league draft, with two keepers allowed (we can keep players up to three years). We draft an absurd number of players, so I'm not going to list all my guys, just the important ones. We draft 4 QB, 6 RB, 6 WR, 2 TE, 2 K, and 2D. With the 2 keepers, that ends up being a 20-round draft. Sigh. We start 1/2/3/1/1/1, btw. Our league website hasn't been updated, and our draft sheets got turned into the commissioner, so I'm doing this from memory. And with a holiday weekend between the draft and now, that memory is fallible. QB: Aaron Brooks. (I honestly forget who my backup is at the moment) RB: PRIEST~! (2nd overall pick; LT2 went first), Domanick Davis (kept), Tyrone Wheatley WR: Joe Horn (kept), Eric Moulds, Amani Toomer, Rod Gardner, Marty Booker TE: Jeremy Shockey K: Jay Feely, Olindo Mare D: Philly, Jacksonville

KingPK 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2004 We draft 4 QB, 6 RB, 6 WR, 2 TE, 2 K, and 2D. With the 2 keepers, that ends up being a 20-round draft. Sigh. We start 1/2/3/1/1/1, btw. Damn. Hope almost everyone showed, or I would have brought a sleeping bag with me. We went 16 rounds, but almost everyone showed up, with only one "draft by phone" (and the Commish had the foresight to call the guy a few picks before his turn to update him), and were pretty well prepared, so we clocked in at around 2 hours. We even got distracted by a Pats-Colts game (I think from '99) on NFL Network towards the end.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2004 People of the COSG.net league need to activate you teams! About half of the league has not activated the team! The season starts tomorrow with the Pats vs Colts.
Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2004 Damn. Tell me about it. We're trying to reduce the number of players drafted, since how often are you going to use your sixth RB or WR? Bye week management is easy, so you should never have more than one guy on a bye the same week. Hope almost everyone showed Everyone who's local. One guy got relocated to Cincy a couple years ago. He drafted via AIM until the AIM room burped too many times, and then we just did a speakerphone call. Another guy is in Vancouver now, so he also participated by AIM (and had a better connection). I would have brought a sleeping bag with me. We drafted at one owner's house, and this house was off the hook. He has a home theatre in his basement, with rows of recliners for the chairs. No sleeping bag, but I was QUITE comfortable for the draft, which took a shade over three hours, and would've been quicker if not for the one fellow's AIM issues. Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 A little weak at RB. Only on bye weeks. Your two starters are quite solid.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 That's assuming Travis Henry stays a starter. He's already got bruised ribs. If either of those guys go down for a number of games, I'm screwed.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 Try to trade Alstott, Terry Glenn, Franks for somebody good. There is no reason why you should have 3 TEs, really.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 Heap is banged up right now. There's a chance he won't start week 1, so I'd like to keep Franks. Troupe was a late pick, since I think he may have a good season, but I don't want to have to rely on him if Heap's injury gives him problems since he's only a rookie. Alstott has negligible value, and I'm guessing Glenn does also, since he was a FA pick up yesterday. I'll try to work something...
