Gary Floyd Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Ennio Morricone/William Goodhart-Regans Theme (From Exorcist II) Shitty movie, underappreciated score. One of Morricones most underrated.
PLAGIARISM! Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Replacements - 'Alex Chilton'. Should be a cringeworthy homage track, esp. as he was working with them and everything, but as usual, effortlessly sublime.
haws bah gawd Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 "You Don't Know How It Feels" - Tom Petty
Corey_Lazarus Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Goblin-Profondo Rosso You should check out stuff from Zombi if you haven't yet. Very similar to Goblin, only with a lot better drumming (since it's an actual drummer). Uhwarria - "Winter Bear"
PLAGIARISM! Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Sparks - Hello Young Lovers First impressions are that it isn't the equal of Lil' Beethoven but obviously I like it a lot.
Si82 Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Sparks - Hello Young Lovers First impressions are that it isn't the equal of Lil' Beethoven but obviously I like it a lot. I'm really enjoying the album so far, anyway... "Here Kitty" - Sparks
snuffbox Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Govt Mule - Simple Man (Skynyrd cover)
Gary Floyd Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 You should check out stuff from Zombi if you haven't yet. Very similar to Goblin, only with a lot better drumming (since it's an actual drummer). I have the Zombi Album Cosmos actually. One of 2004's most underrated albums. Funkstorung-Sounds Like a Break Record
PLAGIARISM! Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Oh and Si82 & anyone in the UK who cares, Sparks are supposedly on Newsnight tonight for some reason.
Si82 Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Oh and Si82 & anyone in the UK who cares, Sparks are supposedly on Newsnight tonight for some reason. Odd. I'll check it out though. Anyway... "Get U Down" - Warren G
Corey_Lazarus Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Yeah, I just scanned over this page and saw you listening to "Orion." MC Lars - "Hot Topic Is Not Punk Rock"
The Czech Republic Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Kraftwerk 2. It's an early album that Ralf and Florian don't like, so it hasn't been officially reissued. Apparently, the guys from Neu! were secondary band members at the time, and you can tell. It doesn't sound like the typical vocoder/sequencer stuff. There's a lot of John Cage-y percussiveness to it. I like it.
Anorak Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Oh and Si82 & anyone in the UK who cares, Sparks are supposedly on Newsnight tonight for some reason. Billy Bragg must be on holiday. Robyn Hitchcock - Trams Of Old London
