natey2k4 Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 *Jimmy Jacobs & Amazing N8 (nate mattson)* Yah.. I've seen both guys wrestle and they are incredibly good in the ring. Could anyone explain their gimmicks to me? Jacobs has been all over the US Indy Scene working ROH, IWA, CZW i believe... I heard he's got a really wierd gimmick.. if anyone can explain to me, that'd be top notch. Also, I've seen Amazing N8 on occasion (Border City Wrestling).. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about him and a gimmick and what not? From what I've seen he seems kind of like Chris Jericho, but I've only seen him a few times.. Thanks for any help.
Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Jacobs originally did a gimmick based on John Nord's Berserker character in the WWF, walking around wearing furry boots, and barking "HUSS!" repeatedly while stomping around and holding his wrist. He recently stopped doing the gimmick due to its staleness, and after adopting a gimmick based on John Cusack's character in the film "Say Anything", has since just been going as himself; nothing more and nothing less.
Youth N Asia Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 I've seen them both in ICW/IWF and XICW. I've only seen Jimmy a couple times with HUSS HUSS...not loving it. Before that he was "Jumping Jimmy" which is like Spanky without as much charisma or talent, but I like Jimmy. All I've seen of N8 is him as a firey babyface, solid enough in the ring though.
Zack Malibu Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Based off "Say Anything"? So does he walk to ringside with a boombox blasting love songs during Becky Bayless matches?
Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 He actually did have the boombox playing the Peter Gabriel song.
Guest Evolution Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 LOL. That I have to see. What show? I'm pretty sure Jimmy Jacobs debuted the "Say Anything" gimmick around the time of the July 30th NWA: No Limits show (which you can buy here)
Guest ArchoanJB Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 Prob. NWA No Limits July 30th and I know for sure on 7/31 IWA Mid-South as I was there.

Oh yeah, I was also there, and that was probably the wide debut of his gimmick. It's possible that he debuted it in No Limits as a test to see if it would get over with the fans (it did), and so he decided to carry it over into IWA. Of course, someone else may have seen it more recently.
