Guest TDinDC1112 Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 So the NFL moved the Dolphins-Titans game to Saturday. I have the dish and the Sunday Ticket, so I was psyched I could watch it as I'll be at the Bills game Sunday and can't watch it then obviously. Butttt, the game won't be airing live, except for in Miami and Nashville. It'll air on the Sunday ticket package, but not until Sunday at 1pm. I thought that package allowed me to see all games live. Guess not. I think it's Bull Shit actually.
NoCalMike Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 it certainly is a bullshit move by the NFL.
Dr. Tom Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 Let's not forget that the biggest bullshit move with NFL SUnday Ticket is that it's only offered on DirecTV, despiite the fact that digital cable has a greater installed base. I'd order it in a heartbeat if the NFL didn't have some asinine exclusive deal with a company whose service is available to less than 15% of the country.
Guest El Satanico Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 I don't recall "see all games live" being part of the deal. As far as I know the deal is that you can watch every regular season game.

It has nothing to do with the NFL/DirecTV and has EVERYTHING to do with Fox and CBS. They won't allow it to go to Digital Cable as they have exclusive rights. Look it up on Google.
Dr. Tom Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 Did the NFL not sign the deal that gives Fox and CBS exclusive rights? They're still to blame. Maybe they'll wise up when the regular TV rights are up for renewal.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 Boo -- I was hoping to watch that game tomorrow...

What the fuck is the NFL thinking?
Dangerous A Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 The NFL Sunday ticket is the only reason I even have DirectTV realistically. (well that and their cable prices are only a smidge cheaper than Rapecast)
Dr. Tom Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 I know what you mean, man. What the fuck is the NFL thinking? I don't know. It's unlike any sports league not to do things that could generate the most revenue.

It's unlike any sports league not to do things that could generate the most revenue. Especially the NFL, who seem to be the only league who knows what the hell they're doing. -=Mike
Kahran Ramsus Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 In Canada they opened it up to all providers this year, so maybe it will be the same down there before too long.
MrRant Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 Even though cable companines offered them MORE money than DirecTV did...
Dr. Tom Posted September 11, 2004 Report Posted September 11, 2004 You work for the Evil Empire, Rant. Tell them to bid even more next time. If your company can try to buy bloody Disney, they should be able to put up enough dead presidents to make Tagliaboob take notice.
MrRant Posted September 11, 2004 Report Posted September 11, 2004 Comcast should buy an NFL team... that would help. They already own the Flyers and the 76ers.
2GOLD Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 Good thing they didn't air it. It sounds and looks like it was the worse played game in a very long time.
Guest GreatOne Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 Lamont F'n Thompson returned a pick for a TD! The Cougs could have used one of those today............................

The Dolphins are wretched. Don't count on much for the Cards/Rams or Giants/Eagles games tomorrow either.
