ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 (edited) Due to the Jamie Noble being released thread popping up, I decided to make this list of the people on the active WWE roster that were released this year. This is from memory, so feel free to add any that I have forgotten: Earnest "The Cat" Miller Brock Lesnar *CONTRACT FROZEN* Goldberg Grandmaster Sexay Faarooq Terri Sean O'Haire Stone Cold Steve Austin Chavo Classic Jacqueline Paul Bearer *In Debate. Obsessed With Wrestling has him cut* Rikishi Sakoda Jamie Noble EDIT: Sable EDIT: Scott Steiner EDIT: Kanyon EDIT: Spanky EDIT: Zack Gowen EDIT: Kevin Nash (didn't compete in 04) EDIT: Goldust (didn't compete in 04) ...that's kinda strange looking back at all the cut people. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Bearer is listed twice, is that intentional? EDIT: No. Strangest of all is Steve Austin and to a lesser extent, Brock Lesnar, listed among Ernest Miller, Sakoda, and Brian Christopher.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Thanks for noting that. Fixed now
Guest W_Hillard Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Sable was released this year, wasn't she? Edit: And Rikishi as well?
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Sable was released this year, wasn't she? Edit: And Rikishi as well? Rikishi is on the list. Editing to add Sable now.
Guest W_Hillard Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Sable was released this year, wasn't she? Edit: And Rikishi as well? Rikishi is on the list. Editing to add Sable now. Ah. I missed Rikishi on the list. Eyes... losing focus... need... caffeine!
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 I guess you could add Linda 'Shaniqua' Miles to the list.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Steiner, Kanyon, Spanky.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 I guess you could add Linda 'Shaniqua' Miles to the list. I thought that she was just demoted to OVW. That's also why I didn't include Kevin "Mordecai" Fertig, because he was just demoted from his spot and not fired completely.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Steiner, Kanyon, Spanky. Were Kanyon and Spanky 04 or late 03? Steiner I did forget though.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Both were early '04 (Jan/Feb).
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 OK, thanks KoOS. Hmmm...was Gowen released late 03 or early 04?
Guest DeathBecomesYou Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Gowen was early 2004 too.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Gowen was February also.
Guest DeathBecomesYou Report post Posted September 16, 2004 It's strange though, out of the 20 or so guys that have left this year, how many of them have either left on bad terms, or left by choice? I'd imagine it's a fair few, doesn't really do much for the image of the "WWE family" does it?
Guest ramsdell Report post Posted September 16, 2004 How about Golddust?
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 How about Golddust? I thought he was 2003... Someone confirm or disprove this?
Guest ally mccoist Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Nash? I think he was released at the very start of the year, even though he hadn't been on tv for months.
Guest Fook Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Did Nathan Jones make it to 2004?
AnonymousBroccoli 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 http://www.gerweck.net/dustinrunnels.htm "WWE announced in November 2003 that the contract of Goldust (that expired in January 2004) would not be renewed."
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Would Nash count? Didn't his contract expire on Jan. 1st? Would that make his release Dec. 31st or Jan. 1st, technically?
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Goldust I believe was fired very early January but was informed of his release right before Christmas.
strummer 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Every year the company used to do a Post Wrestlemania "Spring Cleaning", where they would drop several workers to keep a budget.. Now these releases keep coming at different times and out of nowhere.
Guest fanofcoils Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Nash's contract was through December 31, so he was released as of January 1. Put him on the list. Goldust was officially let go in January, put him on the list.
DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Fook, I'm pretty sure that Nathan Jones was gone by December last year, I seem to remember him leaving the company just after Survivor Series
Enigma 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Paul Bearer wasn't even fired. He was just taken off TV. He's got a contract until October 2006. He's working backstage now. And for Goldust: He was informed in November 2003 that his contract, that expired in January 2004, would not be renewed. However, in the middle of December 2003, they went on and terminated it. Mrnoitaull 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Grandmaster Sexay gone again ?! I thought we were gonna get 2cool one last time
claydude14 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Didn't Vince keep Lesnar under contract, only a freezing type deal? So he wouldn't go wrestle in Japan or anything.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Jones left after the tour in Australia last November (directly after the Smackdown with Cena/Benoit winning the battle royal). Lesnar's contract has been frozen - they don't have to renogotiate if (and when) he comes back.
Guest Big Daddy V1 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 About Zac Gowen, did he compete at all during 2004? I'm not sure if he was in the rumble or if there were terrible jokes going around saying that he would have to be eliminated twice beacuse 'both feet have to touch the floor to be eliminated'
