Mik Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 So, tonight is the pilot for Listen Up, 8:30 on (I think) CBS. It stars Jason Alexander as Tony Kleinman and Malcom Jamal Warner as the Michael Wilbon character. Kleinman is, of course, Kornheiser, and the scripts for this series are loosely based on a series of columns Kornheiser has written about trying to relate to his teenagers. I'm hoping it will be good. I love PTI and I think Jason Alexander is a funny guy. I can't see it lasting 10 seasons or anything, but I hope it lasts at least 2-3 solid years. What do you guys think about this show, and whose watching tonight?
starvenger Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 I guess it's been 7 years since Dave's World, so it's okay to steal the idea.
razazteca Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 It has a laugh track, this can't be good.
Ted the Poster Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 I think that if CBS truly wanted it to succeed as a show they should've put it on right before a CSI or something. Regardless, it'd still be as bad as it's been tonight. Blecch. It has a laugh track, this can't be good. That's the general rule, but I think there are a few exceptions- Spin City for example.
razazteca Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 So is Theo suppose to be Michael Holley? And it gets worse as it turns out to be a musical....
Mik Posted September 21, 2004 Author Report Posted September 21, 2004 I actually kinda liked it. There were a few funny parts. I mean, I didn't have any belly laughs, but I think it could get better with time. It was only the pilot. I'll give it a few more weeks.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 If it's around that long...
