Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 I REALLY wish Smallville would stop focusing on the witch plot and devote more time to Clark learning about his alien heritage. There are still so many unanswered questions about Krypton and Jor-El. There's even been speculation that the voice in the cave claiming to be Jor-El (or his essense, to be exact) is actually something else (The Eradicator, Zod, Brainiac, ect). The thing is that the witch story is what is leading Clark to discover the Fortress of Solitude, which is where he learns of his heritage.

But associating magic with Krypton just feels wrong somehow. Then there's the fact that Lana is WAY too overexposed on the show.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 I understand that the show needs the smalltown crush and everything, but Lana is just so overused now, more useless than Pete I think. This witch story just isn't holding my interest at all. Seasons 1-3 were very good, unless this one ends strong I'm not looking forward to season 5.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 HEY, I watched a full episode tonight for the first time after watching bits and pieces over the past few years. I liked it. There's way too much grey in it though.
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted March 14, 2005 Which episode did you watch? The current season hasn't been very good.
Molotov The Bear 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 Meh, season 4's fine. Not as good as last season, but still not as terrible as everyone makes it out to be. Although super-annoying Lana needs to go.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 The episode where Lois' sister comes and causes trouble. I am still unfamiliar how Lois has ended up in Smallville and knows Clarke, but she's a fun character and works well enough. I think the witch stuff is lame as shit, and thought the same thing when Buffy did it.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2005 Bumpy Bumpy  New episode tonight for the first time in a month or so. Not like it's been a great season, but Lost is a rerun
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted April 14, 2005 Evil Lex rules.
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2005 If the season keeps up like this it could save this season....interesting to see where Lex goes after seeing his dark side in full swing....and it looks like it's giving us back Lionel of old
Guest JMA Report post Posted April 14, 2005 I loved tonight's episode, it's great to have "Magnificent Bastard" Lionel back once again. I'm hoping that the whole Krypton storyline is resolved this season, though.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2005 Decient episode, although this week and next weeks eps seemed to have borrowed from Buffy a little.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2005 Another "Meh" episode. I will kill myself before I care about Jason and his evil mother. Lois' filled out her dress nicely though. Â and... Â Clark: "The crown is mine, bitch." Â *punches Chloe* Â absolutly killed me, I laughed for a solid minute.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2005 Decient episode, although this week and next weeks eps seemed to have borrowed from Buffy a little. Dude you're cool and all and I like Buffy as much as you, but Joss Whedon didn't invent body switching and amnesia storylines, so saying that Smallville is copying Buffy is a little silly.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2005 I didn't imply that Joss invented body switching, rather than saying it borrowed from Buffy I should have just said it seemed a little Buffyish in the case of an episode...but it was basicaly the same thing that happened to Xander when he split. The extremes from both halves seperate, and if one's to die the other is likely to. And they way they previewed this weeks ep it looked a lot like the episode where the girls were trying to kill one another to get through to Xander. Although that wasn't the case. Â Buffy and Smallville feel like the same show much of the time and have many of the same aspects, so I guess it's natural that I just see a lot of the same things in them. Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2005 Clark: "The crown is mine, bitch."Â *punches Chloe* Â absolutly killed me, I laughed for a solid minute. Heh, me too. That was some funny shit. Â I'm kinda torn on the amnesia episode next week. I tend to dislike hackneyed superhero plots, like the hero loses his powers, the hero switches bodies with someone, etc. Despite that, I thought the series has handled each of those episodes well (though I maintain the idea of Clark "losing his powers" or getting them transferred to someone else is absurd). Â By that standard, I'll probably like the amnesia episode. :-/
Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2005 I don't like the idea of Lois finding out about Clark. Though I suspect she'll forget about his powers somehow by the end of the episode. Well, she'd better.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2005 Yeah, between Lex, Lana, Pete, Lional, and Chole they've all seen him use his powers a million times only to magicaly forget. That got old Waaaaay quick.
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted April 22, 2005 I thought Dawn hopping into Martha Kent was pretty funny. Â I agree with YNA about people finding out about Clark's abilities. The writers need to come up with a new way to deal with it, one that doesn't end up with either (1) the character conveniently forgetting about it or (2) the character dying. Â I'm also getting tired of Lana's poor choice in guys. She's got to be the most naive character on the show. The whole storyline with Lana's tattoo, the witch connection, and Jason doesn't interest me at all.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 Well I'll hand it to the creators of the show they did a decent job of making us think that Jason was actually going to turn out an okay guy until this episode. Usually they'd tip their hand early and just go ahead and show us he's a jerk, but they actually held off for awhile this time. Â However, it seems sort of out of nowhere since he hasn't exactly been acting shady up to this point. A lot of things are going to have to be explained now. Was he always shady or did his time working for Lex change him? Did he find something out while working for Lex that made him decide to act this way or was this a plan from the beginning? Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2005 Good episode, although for the five hundredth time someone saw Clark use his powers ONLY for them to forget after.
Molotov The Bear 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2005 Chloe still knows though. Chloe's been awesome since finding out, and last night's episode was pretty good. Â I'm pretty sure by the end of the last scene that Lex remembers most of the stuff from before his mind was wiped. Â "Ageless" (next weeks ep) looks ok. Â I'm pretty sure by the end of the last scene that Lex remembers most of the stuff from before his mind was wiped. Â "Ageless" (next weeks ep) looks ok. His mind was never wiped. (Unless you're talking about from the earlier episodes when he went to Summerholt or something) Lana's wasn't either, and I couldn't help but find the whole dual 'itll be different this time' thing, kind of funny, in an OC way.. Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2005 Lex had electro-shock therapy in season 3 that supposedly removed all his memories of the previous few months, including seeing Clark get hit by (and consequently, destroy) Morgan Edge's car in the previous episode. At the end, he told Clark he remembered how important Clark's friendship was to him and hugged him, but the camera showed a brief, knowing smirk. Â Realistically, Lex can't know, since I don't think Lex has ever known Superman = Clark Kent in all the years of the comics.
Guest JMA Report post Posted April 28, 2005 Realistically, Lex can't know, since I don't think Lex has ever known Superman = Clark Kent in all the years of the comics. He recently did, but Manchester Black removed his memories. Â I have a feeling that Lex WILL know Clark's secret before the show is over, though. After all, Lois never lived in Smallville in the comics either (in any era).
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2005 Of course Lex will know about Clark before the show is over. Smallville ultimatly has to be Lex vs Clark. They're not going to run this show long enough to be "Superman." So it's not like they have to keep the mythology straight.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 Ugh! Â Another weak ass episode. 2 more eps, and the final is 90 minutes, I'm hoping they'll finish strong, but season 4's been the worst so far.
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted May 12, 2005 Just in case anyone hasn't seen tonight's episode yet, I'm using spoiler tags Lionel whacked Jason. Hopefully, this means the whole storyline with the Teagues and the stones ends next week. For some reason, I don't think the stones storyline payoff will be great. In my opinion, the whole Lana/Jason/stones storyline is one of the main reasons that this season hasn't been that great. Â Next week, the 90-minute season finale and a 10-minute sneak peek at Batman Begins.
Guest SpiderFan Report post Posted May 12, 2005 It's sad that the best thing about next weeks episode will be the Batman footage. I hope they have a better storyline for next season than this whole Jason/Witch/Stones one has been. Although, I did see Clark in the middle of a snow field in the preview. I'm hoping we'll be getting the introduction of the Fortress of Solitude.
