Toxxic 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 Having seen Tom's tribute to the great people in the SWF I think it's really time I acknowledged all the people who have helped and inspire me to get where i am today. So here goes: Aecas: For giving me my first real feud, for not complaining when a n00b beat you for the Hardcore Gamer's Belt and for co-writing those backstage promos where you kept appearing and disappearing, still some of my favourite ones. Janus: Simply for having an entrance and character I did and still do mark out for. Zed: For advice and help, for actually booking me into the main event when he could have left me languishing in the midcard and, quite apart from anything else, giving me and IL the All-Show Brawl. I nearly didn't make it due to losing track of time, but that match was a great laugh. Tom Flesher: A long, long time ago Tom Flesher said that he marked for me. Words of real encouragement for such a new writer. Plus the guy is sheer class. Suicide King: Similar to Flesher - after the promo where I set up my Hardcore match with Aecas he mentioned that he liked 'this Toxxic guy' due to the fact that I write, promoed and seemed to be 'having a blast'. Encouragement is good. Kibagami: He was willing to work with me, and in the end chose me as the guy to retire him. Getting such a program from a writer who, although erratic and far from reliable was still one of the best around was an honour indeed. Not to mention the fact that I have basically ripped my writing style from him. In fact, right after I debuted there was a promo for the ill-fated Aidan Redmond (remember him?) which featured a small snippet of Edwin/Silent from Genesis IV. And that small snippet showed me how I should be writing if I wanted to succeed here. And last, but certainly not least... Dace FUCKING Night: Dace was the man carrying the Unholy Trinity sig that made me go 'what's that?' and brought me here. He gave me the lowdown on what was what, and it's no exaggeration to say that without Dace, his move knowledge and his willingness to proof-read my stuff I would not be anywere NEAR where I am now. So... blame him Everyone else - it's been a pleasure too. Now come get some, ya pussies. *gets mobbed by angry cats*
Ace309 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 I'm astonished by your rise to success in the fed, and I'm pleased to know that you credit me with a part of it (however small).
janusd 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 (Y) It's a pleasure, Toxx. In typical anti-self-praise writer style, I was surprised you marked for the character. But... one day, I'm going to come back and we're going to have an actual competitive match sometime...or did that already happen? Ah well. Either way - cheers, mate. Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 I give a shout out to Spike, if it wasn't for him i wouldn't be the chronically no-showing, repeatedly quitting forgotten nobody i am today. *jobs to Spike*
Guest Suicide King Report post Posted September 24, 2004 Cool. I'm glad my comments encouraged you Toxxic. That should give me the boost I need to finish my Genesis comments. Sometime this weekend. It really is neat to see how far you've come so fast. And I think everyone should certainly take notes. They key isn't to write "good" matches/promos/anything. The key is to write ones that you enjoy, and the sugary goodness will flow from that.

Toxxic 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2004 This is a shout-out for people I'm not in a stable with, Spike. That sort of thing just leads to interbreeding and cliqueness and general bad stuff. That being said, when you become World Champion I damn well expect a shout-out from you. And a cloth, to clean the mess off me from where Drea's head just exploded.
