Styles 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 Ok, so on a carride back with a few friends, we were shooting the shit, talking about politics and Ralph Nader comes up, and the issue of the legality of him appearing on the ballot in places like Florida. Anyway, I argued that Nader will have virtually no impact on the election this year, as even in 2000 with the Green Party behind him and a strong media coverage he didn't even get 3% of the popular vote. Now, my friends were disagreeing with me, feeling that Nader will still be a strong force, since people are pissed at Bush and not confident enough in Kerry, and in fact believe he will get at least 5% of the popular vote. Now, I completely disagreed so one of my friends stuck out his hand and said "20 bucks". In the heat of the moment I grabbed it and shook. 3 witnesses. So...I need some feedback from you guys, will Ralph Nader get 5% or over of the popular vote this time, thereby costing me $20, or am I secure in believing he will get less than 5%? MrRant 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 I don't think 5% of the population even knows who Nader is since the media has chosen not to acknowledge anyone that isn't the big two.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 Hell no, he won't get 5%. He won't even get 2% this year.

Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 as a general rule.. if the guy is on the ballot though the signatures of people who won't vote for him.. he won't finish well in the election.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 will Ralph Nader get 5% or over of the popular vote this time ahahahahahaha! Nader?!?! Hahahahahhaha God, I'm trying to keep the guy in the election and even I don't believe he'll get 5%. Hell, I'd rather vote for General Zod than Ralph Nader. In fact, I AM voting for General Zod over Nader.

AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 kkk has a good idea--although I'd also mark my calendar as well. If I didn't check out the Nader threads in this folder, I wouldn't even have known Nader was running.
EricMM 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 The Green Party was at least one party. Now Nader isn't even affiliated with them. I doubt he'll get 5%.
BUTT 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 I'd say there's a very slim chance of that, considering that many of the "Bush and Gore are the same person" crowd are now part of the "anybody but Bush" crowd and will be voting for Kerry.
