alfdogg Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 The season begins tonight. So did everyone else look at their injury/suspension riddled team and think "What the fuck was I thinking?" Well, the Pacers have so many guys injured that they didn't have room for Miller on the IL, so I have him on the bench right now.
razazteca Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 I made a few changes to intergrate my teams, sadly, I missed out on the Chris Mihm free agent frenzy. I made a few trade offers.
Der Kommissar Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 I am happy enough with my team. From the looks of it, they should do just fine, though I have already replaced my two bench players with Udonis Haslem and Bonzi Wells. I just hope this league will be more competitve than my Sportsline league. So far, half the teams never got active(and have "illegal" lineups, meaning they get 0 points) and most of the ones that are don't look too competitive. Ah well, 3 team leagues can be fun...I guess.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 I'm gonna get killed until Kidd comes back. I'm scrambling to find a back up guard and so far, I've ran through 3 guards with no results. I'm on my 4th with Jamaal Tinsley, so we'll see how it goes.
razazteca Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 You do know that Tinsley had 14 Assist in the game, right?
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 Problem being, I didn't have Tinsley till after that performance. I'm scrambling at this point. Theo Ratliff will win one category for me every week by himself, but I've got no scoring or passing and not many steals either. Rebounds and blocks are about all I'm gonna get with this group, but thats what I get for having an injured guard and drafting very forward heavy. They REALLY cut back on who can play guard and forward too. I know Wally Szczerbiak plays some guard here and there, but you sure can't use him that way in the league. Same with Stojakovic and other players with long weird last names.
razazteca Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 There are alot of players that have been added to the GF edibility list such as Matt Harpring of the Jazz and Rasual Butler of the Heat, also Amare Stadumire of the Suns might play Center.
Cuban Linx Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 The joys of owning Kevin Garnett, even if the rest of my team sucked KG alone gives me a ton of numbers in basically every stat and would keep me competitive. Of course the rest of my teams looking pretty good in it's own right so i'm feeling good about my chances this season.
HarleyQuinn Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 My team's been solid so far this week with Kobe and Amare carrying my squad. Just dumped the suckness that was Clifford Robinson and picked up Primo(15/9 in his first game) in hopes that he can complement Eddy Curry and give me some more help in the blocks category.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 8, 2004 Report Posted November 8, 2004 7-0! Im in first place..! *probably will go 0-7 for the next 7 weeks, but at least for 1 week Im at the top for once*
Lightning Flik Posted November 8, 2004 Author Report Posted November 8, 2004 1-6... fuck that hurts bad...
razazteca Posted November 8, 2004 Report Posted November 8, 2004 Losing in the 1st week is not bad, just don't repeat the same mistake(s).
Lightning Flik Posted November 8, 2004 Author Report Posted November 8, 2004 Losing in the 1st week is not bad, just don't repeat the same mistake(s). How can I not repeat mistakes when I underperformed? Well, I did miss one day, but I don't honestly think two guys would've been able to clear up the deficets I had to face against Garnett.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 Im going to regret dropping Q-Rich.
Brett Favre Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 Did someone already pick him up? I didn't know he was dropped. BTW, 6-1. I am impressing myself.
Lightning Flik Posted November 14, 2004 Author Report Posted November 14, 2004 I know it is early in the season, but Vince Carter is on the trading block.
Agent_Bond34 Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Did someone already pick him up? I did.
HarleyQuinn Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Start fearing my team fellas. I have 410 points on the week and am filling up all the categories moderately well too. I'm looking at a 13-0-1 record and 1st place, whoo!!
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 The only reason Im not down 0-7 is Dirk with his 149 points and 48 rebounds this week...
Lightning Flik Posted November 14, 2004 Author Report Posted November 14, 2004 Doesn't SOMEONE want Carter? Come on... You know you want him.
Brett Favre Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Hey, i'd take him if I get Big Z with him . Unless you want Al Harrington, Mike Dunleavy or Josh Howard back instead.
Lightning Flik Posted November 14, 2004 Author Report Posted November 14, 2004 Hey, i'd take him if I get Big Z with him . Unless you want Al Harrington, Mike Dunleavy or Josh Howard back instead. Ok... You want Z, you better cough up something better than what you originally did, as that wasn't a great trade going towards me. As I lost a huge chunk in points scoring and I ain't losing that. And I'll think about a trade for Al Harrington.
Der Kommissar Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Doesn't SOMEONE want Carter? I am still somewhat considering that trade offer. Though, right now, I am too busy bitching at the Vikings for not giving Onterrio Smith the ball to make a ratonal decision.
the pinjockey Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 Doesn't SOMEONE want Carter? Not for AK-47 I don't.
Lightning Flik Posted November 15, 2004 Author Report Posted November 15, 2004 Doesn't SOMEONE want Carter? Not for AK-47 I don't. I had to try... I knew it wasn't realistic.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 Theo Ratliff is on the trading block officially. Preferably for a good guard. After making almost a dozen switches, I've come to a decent core at group at the moment. I'll see how far it'll get me and then panic and trade Peja Stojakovic for Reggie Evans.
Cuban Linx Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 A 6-1 win followed with a 5-2 victory, i'm happy enough with my team that i don't see myself having to make any moves to change things at all, at least until the inevitable Grant Hill injury anyway. Of course saying this Garnett and Allen will inevitably get hurt tomorrow and throw things out of wack once more since things can never go totally smooth.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 I'll see how far it'll get me and then panic and trade Peja Stojakovic for Reggie Evans. Anytime..
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 Once again, Theo Ratliff is on the trading block. My standards for what I wanted have drastically lowered. Throw something at me, I'll heavily consider it.
