Campaign commercials

Recommended Posts

for the Presidential race.. nothing stands out as being noteworthy from either side.

Missouri doesn't seem exciting enough to warrant unique ads either.

How about in your areas? there has to be some interesting ad or something.

(is sorta OD'd on politicial ads after seeing a video filled with them for one of his classes. Including the Wellstone ads from 1990, the Feingold ads from 1992, Strom endorsing Dole for President (1988), a "game show" anti-David Duke ad (with stuff like "Was caught selling Nazi books out of the basement of his office" "Who is David Duke?".. nothing like kicking a guy who doesn't have a real shot. Like LBJ did with Goldwater), Michael Dukakis turning into John Kerry (1990 ad) and other local things)

anything?

I'm waiting for the:

"Hi. I'm John Kerry and I have a plan."

Paid for by the friends of John Kerry

followed by:

"Hi. It's a good plan. Really, you'll love it. I swear. Johnny Boy can't get enough of it."

Paid for by the friends of John Kerry

then:

"Seriously. I have one. Vote for me and I'll tell you. Promise. Honest. Would I lie to you?"

Paid for by the friends of John Kerry

Give me those three commercials and I'll vote Kerry in a second.

http://www.citypages.com/databank/23/1143/article10840.asp (the Wellstone ads are on the bottom)

I'm pretty sure the Wellstone/Ventura agency wouldn't quite work in a national campaign.. but you never know

My Kerry idea is a bit more mean.

Get the clip or footage from the Bush 78 ad of him jogging (if possible/legal).. go over the negative parts of the record then mention something with his attacks.. and.. "With a record like that, you'd be running from it too"

and also destroy all footage of Kerry running (just in case.. ha)

Perhaps we could photoshop Kerry's head over Dukakis and just run the Tank commercial again.

I like him better dressed like Willy Wonka introducing Wonkavision myself. Put him in the tank like that and it's perfection.

Oh, Jesus, we could definitely do a "Magical World of Kerry" commercial with his Iraq views.

"The Magical World of John Kerry: Where you can be on both sides of the issue at once!"

I haven't really seen any campaign commercials, which is kind of weird. I would've thought that they'd be all over the television channels by now.

Bush has had some chucklers -- recently there's been that "wind surfing" ad.

Soros' groups have had some pretty funny ads, but for all the wrong reasons.

To expand this thread's topic a bit: Now I know most of you are pansy-ass pussy "independents," but I'm just wondering for the few of us with a nutsack who has a sign in front of their house or a sticker on their car, have there been any, well, incidents?

Example, even though I'm surrounded by f'n Kerry signs by my neighbors, nobody has vandalized my Bush sign planted on my front yard. Perhaps that's because my outside light comes on whenever someone walks by my house. In addition, there have been two cases where motorists have honked their horn and given "thumbs up" or something similar after seeing my Bush/Cheney bumper sticker. In addition, I have also noticed that there have been several times when I park somewhere (grocery store/fast-food joint) that when I get back there are cars/trucks with Bush stickers parked next to me -- we Republicans gotta stick together in Southwest PA.

And Bob Barron, I gave my other Bush sticker away, so you're S.O.L. -- should have given me your address...

Just to chime in here, I've not seen (or heard) a single commercial for either side. I guess I'm either watching the wrong channels or both candidates figure spending money in Texas is a waste.
