I'm a huge fan of his horror films, especially "Inferno", "Tenebre" and "Suspiria". I think "Inferno" and "Suspiria" are probably the closest that anyone has ever come to capturing a nightmare on film. I also enjoyed "Deep Red" and "Phenomena", just not as much as the above three.

Hell yeah.

Brutal, sick, psycho....he's like the uncle I never had.

Plus any man who makes a movie where his own daughter gets raped is a special individual.

I have the Suspiria 3-disc limited edition DVD & Opera 2-disc collectors edition. Argento is the man, and Asia Argento is a hottie.

I have also seen Tenebrae.

Deep Red > you

Susperia is the shit.

Anyman who helped George Romero produce "Dawn of the Dead", is a deeply respected person in my eyes.

Argento is one of the greatest horror minds of all time and his films always bring an auroa(sp?) of suspense and his violent scenes are brutal.......yet, beautiful.

After the Brattle Theatre (small hipster theatre here in Cambridge) played the Bava flicks a few years back, a few of us asked them to do a series of Argento movies. They looked at us like we'd asked them to eat their young. Needless to say, they felt that Argento's work would be a bit much for the average fan.

/Big fan of his work.

//bigger fan of Asia

Honestly, I think Argento's stuff IS too much for the average fan. His movies are intelligent and could really go over the head of an "average fan"........

I dunno, I've not really liked any of Argento's work that I've seen. I don't understand why Suspiria is so highly rated. It seemed just like an average horror flick to me. I also saw Trauma, which was pretty boring, and Phantom of the Opera, which was a steaming pile o' shite and easily the worst Phantom movie ever (which is REALLY saying something). Also, yeah, Asia is hot as hell, but having her get in creepy sexual situations in her own father's movies just seems sick to me.

Italian Horror, especially Argento has to be watched more then once to truly appreciate. The style of italian horror is so different from anything else.

I couldn't recommend Deep Red enough......I personally do like Suspiria.....but I think Deep Red blows it out of the water.

I'm not a fan of any of his films really, or almost any "classic" Italian horror really. I agree with what both J*ingus and MrRant posted.
