kkktookmybabyaway Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 No more wrestling comparisons, please. Have we learned nothing from "Vince McMahon is kinda like Hitler"?...
Guest MikeSC Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 Hey, Chad Clinton of the Kerry campaign just said that Sinclair had best hope that Kerry doesn't win in November. Nice, deeply implied threat there. -=Mike

Ah, using gov't agencies for petty vengeance. Man, Nixon got in a WORLD of trouble over that. Well, if Bush wins, I hope the IRS and Dept. of Labor take a DEEP look at the AFL-CIO's actions. Ditto the churches that Kerry has campaigned in... -=Mike
2GOLD Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 So, lemme get this straight. Now both sides are making threats at each other how they will screw each other over if they get in office. Nice. Real nice.

Now both sides are making threats at each other how they will screw each other over if they get in office. Nice. Real nice. I'm saying that Bush should do that. Bush --- nor his people --- have not claimed that. Kerry's campaign HAS said that. Expressly. -=Mike
2GOLD Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 Hey, I like to think of the Republicans as evil just because. It was nice when I believed that if the crap hit the fan, I had the monster Republicans ready to destroy all that stood in their way. I don't like the openly evil Democratic party. It doesn't suit them. Like watching a hippie with a chainsaw. It just doesn't work for me.
BX Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Well, I'll be doing the only thing I can to get this movie thrown off the network. Hit them in the pocketbook. I get two Sinclair owned stations where I live, UPN and The WB. I'm planning to get a list of advertisers during those stations 6 p.m. & 11 p.m. news broadcasts, assuming The WB has a newscast. I'll then send the names and local numbers of the advertisers to Josh Marshall ( http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/ ). Democracy in Action, this is so fun!
Rob E Dangerously Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 BX.. I doubt a WB station has a newscast.
BX Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Actually, I just checked, and the WB station does have a 10 p.m. newscast, and it's an hour long, so I'll get plenty of names. The UPN station doesn't seem to have any sort of news program.

Make sure you throw in a lot of profanities, too. That'll REALLY make them listen. -=Mike ...Funny, the protests of Dan Rather from the AFFILIATES hasn't led to him getting fired...
BX Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Good advice. In additon, I plan to capitalize random words and add a smarky remark after my signature. -=BX ...Something LIKE this. GODdamn, this is fun!

BX Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 By the way, are you still willing to hold to our agreement and change your sig and custom title, provided John Kerry wins the election? I'd think keeping it there until Inaugeration Day would be good enough.

BX Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 A few people have suggested to me that you may try to weasel out of it if Kerry were to win, perhaps if we had a repeat of the 30 day drama that was post-election 2000. Or that you would cite whatever Republican talking-point memo was popular at the moment showing how Kerry cheated or whatnot. You wouldn't do something like that, would you? I wouldn't.

BX Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Especially since you're already bitching about Kerry "stealing the election".
Guest MikeSC Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Especially since you're already bitching about Kerry "stealing the election". I expect him to try and fail. If he does, oh well. I won't pull the same shit the left has pulled for the last 4 years --- with no real reason, mind you. -=Mike

Im not saying the 2000 election was right/wrong...its just going to be relevant for a very very long time. You will just have to live with that...history doesnt follow partisan politics.

I'd think keeping it there until Inaugeration Day would be good enough. Oh that thread will be bumped the day after Election 2004, or whenever it's decided on who's president. And the agreement is to keep the winner's Avatar/subject line up until 1/1/2005. *prays Tyler takes an extended Internet vacation if Kerry wins...*
