CanadianChris Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Just like the Braves. At least the Red Sox can advance past the first round. At least the Braves have won the World Series in the past 85 years That's exactly the kind of snappy comeback I would expect from someone who took the time to come up with such a masterfully witty putdown as "Chris Resuckma."
bob_barron Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 ::Waits for CC to make a point:: ::Still waiting::
CanadianChris Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Wow, it keeps getting better and better.
Brett Favre Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Well, game over, but the Yankees should have won this game a hell of a lot easier than they did. They just threw their best starter, and now we get into the rest of the rotation. Boston threw their best starter and got hammered. What's your point?
bob_barron Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Not that I'm bitter or anything- Reitsma, Chris (Address Removed)
bob_barron Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Wow, it keeps getting better and better. I know- I don't really expect anything better from you.
bob_barron Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Of course the funny thing is that I LIKE Boston a lot and they're my favourite AL team. But of course the usual suspects ignore that in favour of bashing me even though have no idea what they're talking about

Kyle Farnsworth? Psh. More like Kyle CRAPworth if you ask me.
bob_barron Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Kyle Notworthit? Come on Al or KingPK- his address is public record and us Braves fans should have a chance for revenge.
Guest Sylvan Grenier Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Kent Mercker? More like Kent POOR-WORKer.
Slayer Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Whenever I see Barron get angry, I think of the "Lisa the Beauty Queen" episode of Simpsons where Lisa enrages the nerds to run onto the football field
bob_barron Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 That wasn't me angry. I was just bored in my reporting class
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Kyle Notworthit? Come on Al or KingPK- his address is public record and us Braves fans should have a chance for revenge. That was me. Chris Reitsma's ability, or lack thereof, is not a reflection upon the true quality of his character. There are superstars out there who are jackasses, and there are poor players who are genuinely nice players. If you really feel the need to harass Reitsma for his play, go ahead. But I am not facilitating it.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Also, anyone else find the concept of AS tossing around the word "bitter" hilarious? I do I do as well. But when al gets so desperate to prove that Jeter sucks that he starts nitpicking his every move, it overtakes anything I say. I think its pretty clear my posts are in jest. Jeter is a very good player. He's just overhyped. Come on al. We all know that there's no joking when it comes to the Yanks. In fact, we should all be wearing suits right now to celebrate their win. Joking about the Yankees is tantamount to joking in the WWE Folder... DON'T DO IT, PEOPLE! And along with the suits, you need to have proper haircuts and be clean shaven, because lord knows you can't be a good person if you have long hair and a beard it's amazing that acting one's age has now become a bad thing.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 By the way, real question. Is it fair to say Mystique and Aura danced all over Fat Curt's face?
The Man in Blak Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 If you amended "face" to say "bad ankle", I think it'd probably be a little more accurate. That said, you can't really dispute that Curt needed to put up or shut up, considering past comments that he's made.
Cartman Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Schilling did embarass himself by saying what he said knowing he was injured and wouldn't have his game, but give the guy some kind of break for at least giving all he had. I blame Francona for not yanking him when it was painfully obvious he couldnt pitch in the 2nd inning. I mean he could barely touch 90 with his fastball which is usually around 96. THAT alone tells you things ain;t right.
mike546 Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 I'm shocked New York papers weren't titled "Whos Your Mommy?" today.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 I'm shocked New York papers weren't titled "Whos Your Mommy?" today. They said "I want my mommy"
Guest Anglesault Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Schilling did embarass himself by saying what he said knowing he was injured and wouldn't have his game, but give the guy some kind of break for at least giving all he had. No way. Schilling's fat ass mouth got him into this situation, and that lousy effort doesn't absolve him.
Brett Favre Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Well, he got himself into a corner and got exactly what he deserved. Had he shut his mouth, maybe we'd cut him some slack. You never hear Gary Sheffield with his bad shoulder and all going "I'd like to stick it into those Boston fans. They're such idiots. Oh, and I have a bad shoulder, but I will give it my ALL!".
Cartman Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 If he wasn't hurt he would have backed his talk up just like he did in 2001.
Brett Favre Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 If he wasn't hurt he would have backed his talk up just like he did in 2001. If I had 1,000,000 dollars i'd be rich.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 If he wasn't hurt he would have backed his talk up just like he did in 2001. When he blew game seven of the World Series? And Randy Johnson (the true MVP of that series) and the offense had to save his ass?
bob_barron Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 If he wasn't hurt he would have backed his talk up just like he did in 2001. But he WAS hurt. So he should've kept his mouth shut.

I think it all goes to illustrate that there is more than one way to run a winning team. I think it adds a little bit of personality to the rivalry myself. Nothing wrong with either club's approach.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 I think it all goes to illustrate that there is more than one way to run a winning team. If you consider the Red Sox to be "run" by anyone Francona and Epstien have both said they have no control over these idiots.
