NoCalMike Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 And my god is this game assbackwards. Yankee fans throwing stuff on the field? Jesus. umm, that is something new!?!
mike546 Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Thats it. I give up on this team. Kevin Brown goes tomorrow, and were FUCKING screwed.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 It's absurd. This team can't hit ANYTHING below 91 MPH or above 94 MPH.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 You know, I've almost accepted the who knuckler thing, and the real slow changeup issue this team has. Someone explain why no one can hit an 88 MPH palm ball. As someone famous once said, pitching is about disrupting the hitter's timing. It is not how fast the pitcher throws, but whether he can fool the batter.
DMann2003 Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 To steal a famous quote... "Do you believe in miracles!"
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 I am predicting that the Red Sox are going to the world series, because when I watch baseball (rarely), the team I pick to win always does. I'm telling you man, the Sox are moving on.
mike546 Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 I'm not afraid of Wake tomorrow. I have confidence with us hitting him for some reason. The reason I have a feeling we'll lose is because, ya know, KEVIN FUCKING BROWN is pitching. I'd rather start Vazquez tomorrow, honestly.

IT'S TWO FUCKING MILES AN HOUR SLOWER THAN WHAT THEY NORMALLY GET. This isn't some slow looping 75 mph curve. It should not dumbfound one of the greatest lineups (on paper) ever.
strummer Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Oh God, I just heard someone on another board say that Lowe is starting tomorrow, forget your miracles
mike546 Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 This game reminded me of when we used to play the As when they were mad good in 2000. It was during the regular season, and we were playing in Oakland. I don't remember who it was, but this reliever they had did the same thing Foulke did. Outside corner EVERY pitch. And coincidentally, we didn't hit him either.
mike546 Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Oh God, I just heard someone on another board say that Lowe is starting tomorrow, forget your miracles WHOOHA~!!!!!!!!!!!!
KingPK Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 If it is Lowe, he'll be on a short leash, and Wake will be in the instant he starts losing it, I think.
Guest Quik Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 I hope Tony Clark drops dead of a fucking heart attack tonight. Worthless shit. Too bad we won't get Olerud back any time soon.
The Dames Posted October 20, 2004 Author Report Posted October 20, 2004 Well, I'll be way too nervous tomorrow to concentrate on my JOB, thank you. Dames

When you stand in the batter's box, the ball arrives in about a second. Swinging and making contact is a matter of milliseconds. That's why the best hitters still get hits only 30-40% of the time. A few mphs here or there make all the difference in the world.
NoCalMike Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 So is it Lowe or Wakefield tomorrow?
Guest Anglesault Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Well, I'll be way too nervous tomorrow to concentrate on my JOB, thank you. Dames You're even going to bother watching this horseshit?
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 So is it Lowe or Wakefield tomorrow? I'd wait for Francona's news conference tonight to find out for sure.

I don't want to, but I have no self control. EDIT: Good thing I only have two classes tomorrow, I'll be thinking about tonight ALL DAY.
The Dames Posted October 20, 2004 Author Report Posted October 20, 2004 I have to watch it....I have to. Dames
KingPK Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Well, I'll be way too nervous tomorrow to concentrate on my JOB, thank you. Dames You're even going to bother watching this horseshit? What is "What most Red Sox fans were saying before game 4", Alex?

EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Question for Yankee fans. Lieber has an $8 Million option for next season. Should the Yankees pick it up?
Damaramu Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Well I've pretty much kept my Red Sox fandom out of these threads b/c I don't know that much about baseball. But god damn I'm happy.
Guest Quik Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Seriously, I want Tony Clark to die. Grey hair at 32, amazing. He plays like he's 48, so it makes sense. Die die die die, where is John Olerud? Hey, maybe Tony's a smark. HEY MAN! GO FUCK YOURSELF! I HOPE YOU DIE OF THE PLAGUE!
Slayer Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 I don't follow. That's the Anglesault we know
KingPK Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 It's a Jeopardy joke. A lot of Sox fans weren't too rosy after getting whomped 19-8, and a lot I know weren't too keen to watch game 4.
