I need more money

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Ricky Williams has acknowledged having an intimate relationship with a woman who filed a paternity suit against him, according to court papers.

The retired Miami Dolphins running back, who has been saying he wants to rejoin the team, faces a court hearing in the suit Dec. 15.

Cherie Nicole Clark, formerly of Miami Beach and now a resident of Honolulu, filed papers in August in Broward Circuit Court asking Williams to pay child support for her 14-month-old son. Clark, 23, claims that Williams is the boy's father.

In a response on Sept. 10, Williams denied having sex with Clark and denied he was the father. However, in papers filed Sept. 22, Williams said he and Clark had "an intimate relationship during the time that the minor child in these proceedings was conceived."

The document said Clark informed Williams he was the father, and he "accepted her word." It also said Williams has provided Clark with a "substantial amount" of money for support of the child and allowed his name to be placed on the birth certificate and health insurance policy.

There was no immediate response Saturday to messages left with Williams' agent.

No wonder he wants to come back...

Why anyone would want this person as their teammate is beyond me.

Couldn't the offensive line just, like, not block on a play and let him get NAILED and laid out and all that? That's what I would do.

if all the assholes in the NFL started getting knocked out nobody would be able to field a team.

I like how Chris Berman was trying to paint Williams as a sympathetic guy on the pre-game show a little while ago.

They were showing some itnerviews with ex-teammates like Zach Taylor and they were all surprisingly open to have him come back, probably because they're just desperate for a win.

And Berman becomes even MORE of a dribbling vagina than he was.

And Ditka is right: The kid is a total flake. You can't trust him to not just quit out of the blue again.

Besides Miami would have a shot at some good free agents next year anyway. Why bother with Williams if Edgerrin James is attainable?

Hell, why bother with a man who did a bang-up job of UTTERLY fucking up your team?

That's what I'm wondering.

How could they be open arms towards someone who completely fucked them over?

I'd rather go winless than have him as my teammate again.

Well the Fins share some of that blame IMO. Sure Williams left them high and dry but their offense shouldn't have been so one dimensional that losing one guy would totally destory it. And who gives up a early round draft pick for AJ Feeley?

Someone needing some time to develop a strong runningback or waiting for their first round pick to be that strong runningback.

There will be someone that bank on Ricky Williams if the Dolphins just "null" his contract.

I think he reached his peak when sticking up for Emily Manning on Draft Day -- defending Williams is just status quo...

Man, if only Tom Jackson would have defended him...

Then all you'd need is for Michael Wilbon to scream that it's all about Williams race and it'd be the perfect situation.
