Bored Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 National television schedule. Two games again this week between Top 10 teams although although neither will be on a network. For ABC this week it's the annoying three time slots, two games schedule. West coast gets San Diego State/Colorado State and the rest of the country is split between the two early games. Damaramu Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 REVENGE WEEK!!!! God I wish KSU was good this year though....my revenge just won't be as sweet.
snuffbox Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Im really looking forward to the Wisconsin-Purdue game.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Me too, but I wish it started at 4:30. I'm going to have to the channel-swap thing for the final hour since the UVA/FSU game starts at 7:45. Or maybe I can find two TVs... Unusually interesting Wednesday and Thursday match-ups this week as well.
Damaramu Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 God damn you KSU! IF you had managed to be good and stay undefeated this game would be awesome! College Gameday would be there. It'd be like a Big XII title game preview and there could be all kinds of video packages and such for it bringing up last year. BUT NOOOO you just had to go and suck.
Crimson Platypus Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 So wait, #2 Oklahoma at Kansas State, Noon/9:00 AM, ABC* and #14 Michigan at Illinois, Noon/9:00 AM, ABC* are getting local coverage, while #19 Minnesota at Michigan State, Noon/9:00 AM, ESPN is getting the national spot? Minnesota is going to kill my Spartans, the game should be over by halftime..
Damaramu Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Yeah but OU and Michigan are going to kill their respective opponents. Besides ESPN doesn't show Big XII games. FSN and TBS show those. They only get Big XII teams on the non-conference schedule. What is it with ESPN and the Big Ten anyways? Do they have a deal?
2GOLD Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Michigan has been on ESPN enough this year.
Damaramu Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 So who has a deal with what conferences? Let's see: NBC: Notre Dame ABC: everyone CBS: SEC FSN: Big XII/Pac 10 TBS: Big XII/Pac 10 ESPN: Big Ten/mid-majors/non-conference?
Bored Posted October 13, 2004 Author Report Posted October 13, 2004 ESPN has deals with every conference except the Pac-10 and Big XII. ABC has deals with all conferences except the SEC.
lomasmoney Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Why wouldnt Michigan be on TV every week. They are arguably the most popular team in the country and of course the TV people know that their games will get ratings no matter who they play.
Guest GreatOne Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 Would we be willing to put money on that if Michigan say scheduled Idaho in like '06?
Bored Posted October 14, 2004 Author Report Posted October 14, 2004 Well Michigan does play Eastern Michigan in '05 and '07 and Central Michigan in '06.
lomasmoney Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 and Eastern sucks so bad that my friends there come to the Michigan games just to tailgate. They are flat out bad and I can almost guarantee that game will be on TV unless Michigan just flat out sucks the rest of the time up until that game
Guest GreatOne Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 Hell EMU not only lost to Idaho but also gave up 45 to them. Keep in mind, Idaho's scored barely more than that in their other five games (49-45)
Damaramu Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 Revenge Saturday just gets closer. Man I'd hate to be wearing a purple and silver jersey right now.
cabbageboy Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 No talk on here about the Louisville/Miami game? Actually I can kinda see that, since no one in their right mind is giving my boys a chance there. I'm not saying U of L will win that game, but it'll be tougher than expected. I do believe next year is the rematch here in Louisville...now there's the upset pick, albeit about a year early.
Bored Posted October 14, 2004 Author Report Posted October 14, 2004 What's the over/under on how many times we'll hear the term "BCS Buster" tonight? As long as Brock Berlin is his typical self then Louisville has a shot especially with how dominate their defense has looked. Expecting a very low scoring game as even as good as Louisville's offense has been they are facing arguably the best defense in the country tonight.

I do believe next year is the rematch here in Louisville...now there's the upset pick, albeit about a year early. I'm watching the game. The people that live above me have been going crazy for everything. And as much as it pains me, I'm pulling for Louisville, too. The Cards are looking far better than I thought they would. They are playing exactly like they should be: balls out with nothing to lose. And thus far it has paid off.
iggymcfly Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 I had a feeling Louisville would spring the upset tonight, and so far they're looking damn good. Miami can't do anything to stop the passing game, and as long as the Cardinals don't fall apart, they should be well on their way to the upset. BTW, does anyone else think the parallels between Louisville and Cal are really striking? They both dominated their early opponents on both sides of the ball without getting much respect, before picking apart a Top-3 opponent with their passing game. Really, the only difference is that USC's a lot more well-rounded than Miami, and managed to control the ball.

Damaramu Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Lefors for Heisman anyone? Umm.....no.
Bored Posted October 15, 2004 Author Report Posted October 15, 2004 Okay so much for Miami having arguably the best defense in the country. 31-14 Louisville. The Fiesta Bowl and Sugar Bowl officials are shitting their pants right now.
Guest GreatOne Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Not good news if you're expecting Brock Berlin to lead you back from a second half deficit against a team not coached by Ron Zook....................

The Fiesta Bowl and Sugar Bowl officials are shitting their pants right now. It's probably not that bad. Only one of them's gonna get stuck with Miami, and the other one could easily get an undefeated Louisville team going for a share of the national championship.
Bored Posted October 15, 2004 Author Report Posted October 15, 2004 Flipping through the new Sports Illustrated it said the Fiesta Bowl was "intrigued" by Utah and that they are open to taking the first non-BCS school to play in a BCS Bowl. Miami cuts the lead to 7.

There could be up to 3 undefeated teams... Southern Miss still has to play Alabama and Cal this year but, due to a fluke of C-USA scheduling, doesn't have to play Louisville this year.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Lefors for Heisman anyone? It's still Kyle Orton at this point.
Bored Posted October 15, 2004 Author Report Posted October 15, 2004 4th and 4 at the Louisville 8. This could be the ball game. First down. Louisville is going to need a huge goal line stand to win now. Touchdown Miami with 49 seconds left. Louisville has all three timeouts.
