Happy Birthday

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to acknowledge the great John Cleese on his birthday today.

My favorite Cleese, besides Monty Python, are:

A Fish Called Wanda

Fawlty Towers

and the brief but great appearance in "Silverado" BTW, Silverado is a largely forgotten classic, a good 80s movie that holds up well even today

Flowery Twa--er, Fawlty Towers is great--checked out a tape of it and looking for the DVDs now.

Silverado rings a bell but I haven't actually seen it...

Are you sure, the man looks like he is near 80 or older to me. He has the Ernest Borgnign or Charleston Heston look to him since the man looked like he was born middle aged.

Eric Idol was the real star of Monty Python and Fish Called Wanda!

No one in Monty Python was better than anyone else in the group. They all have their own unique talents that play off each other very well. John Cleese is one of those people that make me laugh just by standing there, or smiling or something. He's funny looking, and has great timing, and a great comedic voice.

It was a western with Kevin Kline, Brian Dennehy, Scott Glenn (whatever happened to him??), Kevin Costner (before he was a big star), a few others I can't remember.

yeah, he does look pretty damn old, kinda like Christopher Lee (Lee is freakin 82)

imdb says Cleese was born in 1939 but who knows for sure

Kevin Costner was a corpse...

...in 1983's, "The Big Chill."

But, for some reason the editors cut his acting scenes. LOL

I atually just saw him in a show on Food Network called "Wine for the Confused." He made it funny and enjoyable as well as informative. The man is a genius. :)
