Mole Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I love the fact that mostly Jam Bands play on New Years.
Red Baron Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 The biggest new years eve bash is in Niagara Falls with Collective Soul and The Trews. It's free so I might go.
The Czech Republic Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Umphreys McGee/Mini Kiss - Riviera Theatre, Chicago Stellar Spark II(techno fest) - The Rave, Milwaukee I'm not feeling it.
The Amazing Rando Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I love the fact that mostly Jam Bands play on New Years. Of course, cause nobody gives a shit if they play for four hours straight cause most of the crowd is blazed out of their head anyway. Also, I'd love to see Moe, Flaming Lips/Wilco, or Keller Williams...but would never be able to get to any of them (living in Western Maryland as I do)
Placebo Effect Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 If I remember correctly, Dramarama and the Smithereens are playing Sayreville, NJ and Clutch is in Philly. I'm thinking about Clutch.

I dont know too many radio bands that can play for several hours in a party atmosphere...a few can, but the 'jam bands' tend to fit the bill perfectly. Too bad theres no word of Modest Mouse, The Dead, Trey Anastasio, Tool, Damien Rice, U2, Beck, or Mike Patton doing some sort of NYE show...
Matt Young Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Nothing in Los Angeles? if not, I guess I'm S.O.L. There has to be something, though...
King Kamala Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Nothing in Los Angeles? if not, I guess I'm S.O.L. There has to be something, though... Crystal Method and Paul Oakenfield, if you're into that kind of stuff. The Doors of the 21st Century and Al Green are both in Anaheim. Joe Satriani in Ventura. Thought there would be bigger acts in your neck of the woods.
snuffbox Posted November 14, 2004 Author Report Posted November 14, 2004 Chrystal Method and Oakenfold would be a pretty fun NYE party...
5_moves_of_doom Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 Don't forget Dick Dale and the 5,6,7,8's in Southern California! Zing!
Matt Young Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 The Doors are one of my 2 favorite bands ever, and Anaheim's closer than LA. if tickets are still on sale and don't go for an ungodly amount of dinero (which they probably will), I'm there.

If you count the Doors as one of your favorite bands ever...why do you have any interest in seeing this 21st Century bullshit?
Matt Young Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 The same reason so many people attend all the Kiss "farewell" tours... Half the original band members is better than nothing at all.
