Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2004 You do realize that if Wal-Mart does in fact release it a day early, they'll be fined like 1000 for every copy sold? Just thought I should mention this.

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2004 Flik, a lot of Wal-Marts release shit early. It's nothing new. ...I did work in the game selling industry for three years, so yes, I know. I was more trying to imply for him to buy it on Nov 1st to get Wal-Mart smacked. Next time, I'll just say that.

They took almost a week after the release date to get Fable.

The Walmart in my area had Here comes the Pain, 4 days early last year. However, the same store didnt get the first copy of Fable for nearly a month after the initial release. The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2004 1. Everyone is supposed to release everything on Tuesdays. That's new release day. 2. If other Wal-Marts are like the one I work at (and I suspect that they are) keep in mind that the employees probably don't care that much, and sometimes either put merchandise out too early, or too late. Shit happens.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted November 1, 2004 Well, the Wal*Mart around here usually puts the shit on the shelves at Midnight on Mondays. Technically, it is Tuesday, so I'll be checking out my local Wal*Mart tonight, most likely, to see if they have Smackdown Vs. Raw in.

Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2004 Walmart is always breaking street date. I'm not there often, but any time I am there I usually see some DVDs out early.
LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2004 As far as I know, movies and music are not allowed to be put out until release dates, however video games can be put out whenever they are received. The reason being that movies and music are set release dates by the companies whereas video games are projected due to completion and production. There are some exceptions to the rule, as I know places that got Star Wars Battlefront had to hold it in backrooms and such until the 21st of September per memo from Lucas Arts. MrRant 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2004 Yeah but you have to remember practically no one will argue with Walmart. If you are off their shelves you are in deep shit.
Guest bigm350 Report post Posted November 2, 2004 I just called an EBGames in my area and was told that the game will be in tonight at 7:00. The guy said there will be extra copies available so I could get one tonight, despite not pre-ordering the game.
NYU 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2004 SD VS RAW EARLY IN WALMART'S? No. In fact, I just wasted my time going over there, only to be told they're not receiving the game until November 4th. Funny thing is that I don't even want the game too much anymore anyway.
David Blazenwing 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2004 SD VS RAW EARLY IN WALMART'S? No. In fact, I just wasted my time going over there, only to be told they're not receiving the game until November 4th. Same here. Lucky for me I have mine pre-ordered at EB (right across the street from the Wal*Mart, no less) and they said the same thing they told bigM350, in tonight at 7 pm (actually the guy there told me sometime between 6 and 7, though it will probably be closer to 7).
