bob_barron 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 Just STOP dragging it out, CNN. Wolf Blitzer, Larry King and the BUTT Buddy Company need to stop the double-talking and just present the cold hard facts. Someone needs to grow some balls and just admit that Kerry lost on CNN. Jeff Greenfield pretty much did. The black guy seems to speak just so Greenfield can refute him. Larry King just says whatever he wants and laughs.
Vyce 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 I'm genuinely surprised by the popular vote totals. I figured Bush would win, but not by that much. With 95% of precincts reporting, Bush is up by almost 4 million votes.

Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 Fox is fucked. Bush won NV, but Fox doesn't want to report it because it puts Bush over 270 and they can't rescind their Ohio decision. Wonderful manipulation, Fox. And just last night one of their reporters was on the Daily Show saying they required verification from four different people to go ahead with a projection this time. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 I just started on the missions up in the mountain area. My current mission I have to go with some chick, jack a big rig truck, and hijack a tanker somewhere to meet with a connection. You can do any of the missions with the $ sign on them in any order. My advice in the gas tanker one is to get out of the gas tanker right after you hook up the tank and shoot up those guys' car. The guides suggest they drive like maniacs and tend to explode themselves by accident, but they actually cost me the mission the first time. The second time I lost because I accidentally jacknifed. And, if you didn't notice already, the chick you're with is from GTA3. She's the asshole that shoots you in the face at the start, and you get revenge on in the end. So am I officially in a new area, or are these mountain missions just an extension of the first city? I did notice now it does let me go to San Fierro without giving me 4 stars for doing it. I did notice now it does let me go to San Fierro without giving me 4 stars for doing it. You can travel around San Fierro but your missions for a while will be entirely based in the mountains area. Eventually you'll get a mission called "If You're Going To San Fierro..." that officially moves you into the city. The whole wilderness region with it's various tiny hick towns are like another city unto themselves.
Vyce 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 Thune is giving his victory speech on CNN. I'm indifferent to most Senate races - but I'm GLAD that he beat Daschle. I can't stand the prick. Are you "saddened and dismayed" at losing, Tom?
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 LOL. I will admit she is a much better writer than a speaker. She is the most vapid talking head ever. She went on Bill Maher's show and rather than speak up and fight she just sat there and pouted, making her everyone's bitch, even fucking D.L. Hughley (I think that was the episode he was on, but if not another celebrity which seems to be on the uninformed end of the spectrum.)

Vyce 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 CNN officially calling it for Thune. Martinez has declared victory (and is leading with 99% of precincts in) but Castor is refusing to admit defeat. And man, I'm still amazed at how chicken shit the networks are to call anything for Bush. It's a FORGONE CONCLUSION now.
Vyce 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 What a surprise - the Democrat Secretary of State stuck his nose in the New Mexico race, and suddently Bush's lead has diminished. And Bob, where do you keep getting this info about Kerry winning Nevada? Even those who aren't reporting the Nevada result are indicating it's going for Bush. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 Has Fox News said why it's not giving Bush Nevada? You would think they would want Bush to win. So why did Daschle lose anyway? It seems that since he's the minority leader he'd win
Vyce 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 Honestly, I have to agree with Jobber about Fox - they've called Ohio for Bush, and that IS factually correct, but they're too scared to go ahead and call one of the other races - which would definitively establish that Bush is the winner. I'm afraid I'm going to punch out for now, and hopefully wake to Kerry giving his concession speech. Good morning to you all.
Big Ol' Smitty 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 *braces for flaming* Prior to the election, Bush criticized exit polling in swing states. In every state that uses non-electronic voting or e-voting with paper trails, the exit polls match up with the official results pretty evenly. In states that use e-voting with no paper trails, Bush is doing significantly better than what the exit polls indicate. Plus it appears as if CNN has changed their exit polling numbers to better coincide with the official results. I'll throw out this article as well: Published on Thursday, August 28, 2003 by the Cleveland Plain Dealer Voting Machine Controversy by Julie Carr Smyth COLUMBUS - The head of a company vying to sell voting machines in Ohio told Republicans in a recent fund-raising letter that he is "committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year." The Aug. 14 letter from Walden O'Dell, chief executive of Diebold Inc. - who has become active in the re-election effort of President Bush - prompted Democrats this week to question the propriety of allowing O'Dell's company to calculate votes in the 2004 presidential election. O'Dell attended a strategy pow-wow with wealthy Bush benefactors - known as Rangers and Pioneers - at the president's Crawford, Texas, ranch earlier this month. The next week, he penned invitations to a $1,000-a-plate fund-raiser to benefit the Ohio Republican Party's federal campaign fund - partially benefiting Bush - at his mansion in the Columbus suburb of Upper Arlington. The letter went out the day before Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, also a Republican, was set to qualify Diebold as one of three firms eligible to sell upgraded electronic voting machines to Ohio counties in time for the 2004 election. Blackwell's announcement is still in limbo because of a court challenge over the fairness of the selection process by a disqualified bidder, Sequoia Voting Systems. In his invitation letter, O'Dell asked guests to consider donating or raising up to $10,000 each for the federal account that the state GOP will use to help Bush and other federal candidates - money that legislative Democratic leaders charged could come back to benefit Blackwell. They urged Blackwell to remove Diebold from the field of voting-machine companies eligible to sell to Ohio counties. This is the second such request in as many months. State Sen. Jeff Jacobson, a Dayton-area Republican, asked Blackwell in July to disqualify Diebold after security concerns arose over its equipment. "Ordinary Ohioans may infer that Blackwell's office is looking past Diebold's security issues because its CEO is seeking $10,000 donations for Blackwell's party - donations that could be made with statewide elected officials right there in the same room," said Senate Democratic Leader Greg DiDonato. Diebold spokeswoman Michelle Griggy said O'Dell - who was unavailable to comment personally - has held fund-raisers in his home for many causes, including the Columbus Zoo, Op era Columbus, Catholic Social Services and Ohio State University. Ohio GOP spokesman Jason Mauk said the party approached O'Dell about hosting the event at his home, the historic Cotswold Manor, and not the other way around. Mauk said that under federal campaign finance rules, the party cannot use any money from its federal account for state- level candidates. "To think that Diebold is somehow tainted because they have a couple folks on their board who support the president is just unfair," Mauk said. Griggy said in an e-mail statement that Diebold could not comment on the political contributions of individual company employees. Blackwell said Diebold is not the only company with political connections - noting that lobbyists for voting-machine makers read like a who's who of Columbus' powerful and politically connected. "Let me put it to you this way: If there was one person uniquely involved in the political process, that might be troubling," he said. "But there's no one that hasn't used every legitimate avenue and bit of leverage that they could legally use to get their product looked at. Believe me, if there is a political lever to be pulled, all of them have pulled it." Blackwell said he stands by the process used for selecting voting machine vendors as fair, thorough and impartial. As of yesterday, however, that determination lay with Ohio Court of Claims Judge Fred Shoemaker. He heard closing arguments yesterday over whether Sequoia was unfairly eliminated by Blackwell midway through the final phase of negotiations. Shoemaker extended a temporary restraining order in the case for 14 days, but said he hopes to issue his opinion sooner than that. © 2003 The Plain Dealer I'm just sayin' is all...
