KingPK 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 I'm guessing no one learned their lesson from 2000..... great. Why can't the networks wait until at least 50% of the precincts are reporting before "calling" a state is beyond me. And aren't Exit Polls the epitome of unscientific? Guest MikeSC Report post Posted November 3, 2004 I'm surprised that no one has called North Carolina yet. You have to think that NC, SC, VA, and MS will be called for Bush soon. Just like in 2000, the calls for Bush will be coming slow. Over an hour to call SC, a Bush EASY win? Yeesh. -=Mike

JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 That's why all the networks call everything at the same time. That and they're getting their info from the same places. But the public seems to demands results ASAP, so the media gives it to them.

teke184 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 They should wait before calling the states. So, these electoral vote amounts may change as the night goes right? They're not supposed to. Pretty much, by calling the states they're saying "There's no way that X will lose this state". The networks calling Florida for Gore then taking it back in 2000 was unprescedented and ended up with the networks going before Congress in 2001 to explain themselves.
