KingPK Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 I'm guessing no one learned their lesson from 2000..... great. Why can't the networks wait until at least 50% of the precincts are reporting before "calling" a state is beyond me. And aren't Exit Polls the epitome of unscientific?

Do you need to wait that long before calling DC for Kerry?
Guest MikeSC Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 I'm surprised that no one has called North Carolina yet. You have to think that NC, SC, VA, and MS will be called for Bush soon. Just like in 2000, the calls for Bush will be coming slow. Over an hour to call SC, a Bush EASY win? Yeesh. -=Mike
teke184 Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 SC finally called for Bush. Still waiting for NC, MS, and other states.
JoeDirt Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 That's why all the networks call everything at the same time. That and they're getting their info from the same places. But the public seems to demands results ASAP, so the media gives it to them.
Guest MikeSC Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 Who convinced CNN that Larry King would be able to add squat? -=Mike
JoeDirt Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 Who convinced CNN that Larry King would be able to add squat? -=Mike He has been embarrassingly stupid all night so far. Really, really horrible.
Rob E Dangerously Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 CBS has South Carolina and Mississippi for Bush and the Exit Poll weighting says that Kerry leads in DC by 91-8 Bush takes Virginia
Rob E Dangerously Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 I'm going to stay with CBS.. so I won't have to deal with the CNN guys
Guest MikeSC Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 FNC's exit numbers seem to lean FL to Bush. -=Mike
JoeDirt Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 FNC's exit numbers seem to lean FL to Bush. -=Mike Same with CNN, it seems.
Guest Brian Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 CNN seems to have FL for Bush and OH for Kerry by about the same percentage.
teke184 Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 "And with 0% of the precincts reporting, we're calling this election. 100% for Sideshow Bob and 1% for Diamond Joe Quimby and, remember, there is a 1% margin of error." - Kent Brockman
teke184 Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 Virginia and North Carolina called for Bush... Louisiana, Texas, and other Bush states will be closed within 30 minutes and should be quick calls for him.
Rob E Dangerously Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 CBS calls Oklahoma for Tom Coburn.. which is bad news for crapheads, abortion doctors and lesbians
Mole Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 Fox has Bush with 102, Kerry 77. ABC has Bush with 94, Kerry 77.
teke184 Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 *Wants to put security cameras into girls bathrooms in Oklahoma*
Rob E Dangerously Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 CBS has it 108-77 CBS = less annoying people.. which doesn't say Rather isn't annoying, just that he's less annoying than all the forces of CNN

Eclipse Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 They should wait before calling the states. So, these electoral vote amounts may change as the night goes right?

I can ignore that
teke184 Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 They should wait before calling the states. So, these electoral vote amounts may change as the night goes right? They're not supposed to. Pretty much, by calling the states they're saying "There's no way that X will lose this state". The networks calling Florida for Gore then taking it back in 2000 was unprescedented and ended up with the networks going before Congress in 2001 to explain themselves.
Vyce Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 Christ, the commercial breaks are annoying as piss. Can't they refrain from selling ad time during this?
Rob E Dangerously Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 Palm Beach, Miami Dade and Broward haven't reported yet
Guest Brian Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 Do you really need an answer to that question Vyce?
Guest MikeSC Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 Palm Beach, Miami Dade and Broward haven't reported yet Nor has the panhandle. -=Mike
