Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2004 Why are the tag champs jobbing on Velocity? I can understand Dupree losing to Booker, since he's the No. 1 Contender and all, but Kenzo losing to Holly?

Guest JerichosHi-Lite Report post Posted November 10, 2004 So if JBL loses to Booker, he'll leave SmackDown forever ... Booker was on Velocity the week before his WWE title shot ... I wish WWE wouldn't make PPV winners so obvious
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2004 It makes no sense, I thought the WWE was so desprate to take the title off JBL.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2004 Why is anyone taking JBL's promise as gospel ? Stips never get adhered to for long, if ever at all.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted November 10, 2004 exactly, It could just be a cheap way of JBL getting heel heat by coming right back and he can just say "No you must have misunderstood me, I said I would never come back to (wherever the show was held), Why would I leave Smackdown!? They NEED me!"
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted November 10, 2004 However, they could have the match end with the cheap Double DQ Brawl finish and have the rematch at Armageddon. I'd have Booker win the title there in some sort of FCA/No DQ type match. Angle would take the title at Rumble. I'd have a Eddie/Angle I Quit match to Headline Armageddon. The Feud might have sucked but the matches were good and should have the proper blowoff at Armageddon.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 10, 2004 I'd have a Eddie/Angle I Quit match to Headline Armageddon. Just get them away from each other for a good, long time. They were able to make what should have been an excellent all around feud almost unwatchable by the end. And you and I both know those two would be completely incapable of building up an I quit match. If they can't make the match seem important (and they won't, because you can't do that and be HI-LARIOUS at the same time) the fans aren't going to give a damn and the match will bomb. Moving on, anyone else scared that they might be trying to bring the Bashams back to Smackdown?
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2004 JBL will probably lose and come back as Mr. America. When I first read the statement, it bothered me because it seemed to guarantee Booker losing. However, with some more though (and no angles forthcoming if JBL were to win), JBL being forced to honour his word and come up with wacky masked gimmicks to get back on TV would be a direction they could go. Doesn't mean they will, but it's there.

Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2004 They might be releasing him. Probably not, but you never know. I nope not. He is one of the only reasons I even watch the show these days. But it doesn't stop me from knowing that the money-match for Wrestlemania is Angle/Cena, which they don't seem to plan on doing anyways.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted November 11, 2004 Angle/Cena is an obvious Money match but 'Taker's politics get in the way of that to make way for a pointless Angle/Taker showdown. I understand 'Taker doesn't like the fact his WM Record doesn't include but two matches worth a shit (HHH and Flair) and wants that "Classic" match. We know from last summer these two can have a fantasic match but this is Mania. I still think Heyman's Angle/HBK and Benoit/'Taker idea works better since it gives us TWO great money matches and 'Taker still gets his "classic" match. As it stands, I really cant see WHO Cena would compete against at WMXXI. TBS and Eddy are the only others at his level and Eddy isn't turning heel anytime soon and TBS has been done. I guess Cena/Bradshaw? That makes me sick to my stomach. Speaking of which, what does that leave Eddy with? Eddy will be jerking with Mysterio in some meaningless tag team match won't he? To tell you the truth, if I can't get Angle/HBK, Angle/Taker is much more appealing to me in just about every way.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted November 11, 2004 I agree that it would be a GREAT match but I can't figure out Angle's "politics". He could go over a "Legend" like Shawn in a high profile match but he'd rather job for the 3rd straight Mania in the title match. (Because 'Taker isn't laying down). I think Angle must have long lasting concussion syndrome. Oh, I remembered...Maybe CCC can face Cena. That still feels like a total step down.

I think his mindset is that he could be in the world title match of Wrestlemania three years in a row, and regardless of how her performs, people will look at that as a plus on his career. That and a Shawn match, at this point, (barring a Shawn move to Smackdown after his injury) would be a bitch to organize.

They really should make some trades now to give us fresher angles heading into WMXXI. I understand Angle's theory but I think it's flawed.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 11, 2004 they could just say Shawn's contract ran out with Raw and he was a silent free agent and he slipped in the backdoor of Smackdown. . Anyway they can get Shawn on SD! works. I was operating under the assumption that the feud would be like last year's Lesnar/Goldberg
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted November 11, 2004 They could also have Angle flat out say he's sick of beating and kicking everyone's ass on Smackdown and demands to be traded (while really ducking some big name face like 'Taker). Long says, "Mr. Bischoff of Raw called me up and wanted to see if we could have a special Interpromotional match to represent each brand. So if you want out of SD!, You have to beat whoever Raw puts up, whoever wins that match chooses which brand he'll work for". Angle shrugs it off, assuming it'll be some nobody...Then it's Rumble time and the returning HBK arrives and introduces himself to Angle, Angle is a total dick and shrugs him off, when Shawn closes the segment with "Oh, Kurt? See you at WrestleMania." It's pretty easy to set this match up but you know WWE will create a complicated and convoluted method if they went this route. That's still two months of Shawn and Kurt yelling at each other on opposing shows and/or "KURT ANGLE, BAH GAWD, HE'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE!"
