Vanhalen 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2004 http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds16908.html Filmmaker Michael Moore is planning a sequel to his controversial Bush/Iraq documentary Farenheit 9/11. The director will take aim at Bush once more in Farenheit 9/11 1/2, planned for 2007. "We want to get cameras rolling now and have it ready in two, three years," he told Variety. "We want to document it." "It" being Bush's second term in office as US President, following his re-election earlier this month with 51% of the popular vote. "Fifty-one per cent of the American people lacked information and we want to educate and enlighten them," Moore continued. "They weren't told the truth. We're communicators and it's up to us to start doing it now. The official mourning period is over today and there is a silver lining - George W. Bush is prohibited by law from running (for presidency) again."
Guest Shutterspeed Report post Posted November 12, 2004 It'd seem less desperate if he released it closer to the election like he did with the first film. Probably more effective too, obviously. Should be interesting to see what he puts in this one though, and if he can fill it with content worth viewing as opposed to peddling an inane ploy to get a non-Conservative leader into office. Anyway, isn't he working on an exposé targeting America's health care system?

franchise632 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2004 Michael Moore or the US Government hmmmmmm???? I know who I'm going to think is telling me the truth first. He should continue to make movies. They are at the very least entertaining.
Guest Shutterspeed Report post Posted November 12, 2004 ... and if you're referring to Michael Moore, you're an idiot. He's no left wing filmmaking pioneer fighting for truth and justice. At least not for the most part. For the most part, he's providing views that stir up controversy and he does this via half-truths. The guy doesn't outright lie, but I guarantee you that he has the ability to turn an idiot from Republican to Democrat. Edit: Idiot Republican to Democrat. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2004 Frankly I don't think anyone will care about this sequel to 9/11. I mean compared to the first film anyway. It MIGHT be a nice cult hit along the lines of Bowling For Columbine but it won't be a huge blockbuster.
Guest Shutterspeed Report post Posted November 12, 2004 Bowling for Columbine is the better movie though. By the way, I don't know what he hopes to achieve with that title. It sounds like he's ripping off The Naked Gun.
sfaJack 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2004 I just don't see any purpose to this film (other than money, duh). The whole point of F 9/11 was to get people not to vote for Bush, but now since Bush can't run again if he wanted to, why even bother with this film? Is ANYONE going to care about this in 2007? I am anticipating Moore's new health care movie though...but only if he includes highlights from his stomach-stapling surgery.
Guest Shutterspeed Report post Posted November 12, 2004 Maybe he's just trying to get back at Bush for getting the popular vote. Who knows? The President might even be stupid enough to let Moore bribe him into getting into bed for a home movie.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2004 Wow, 10 posts until the first fat joke -- what would you guys to without me? Shutterspeed, you seem to be new to this place, so here's a word of advice. Do a search here under "Michael Moore." You'll then know where the battle lines are drawn in regards to those that like Mikey and the sane people who think he's a big fat pile of shit. I, for one, think he's very talented... at putting buffets out of business...

Guest Shutterspeed Report post Posted November 12, 2004 I just take his messages with a grain of salt if I don't already know the full truth. I do enjoy watching his films because he's downright entertaining - I doubt that many could call him boring, but by no means would I rely on what he says in a debate or something of the like. He provides food for thought, and that's where I draw the line.

Well I generally believe nothing that the federal government tells me and if that makes me an idiot then so be it. Half-truths are more then you typically get from the wonderful administration we currently have. Iraq is just the tip of the iceberg. The next four years are going to pale in comparison to the shit we have gone thru. I would move out of a big city if that is where I lived. Iraq is going to look like a bum bust in Central Park when looking back to the amount of innocent blood that will be shead.

Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2004 Awe, isn't that sweet? Moore couldn't handle the fact his miserable attempt to try to cause a peaceful insurrextion failed and wants to try it again. I really don't see the point as Bush will be gone from the White House regardless in 2008. Oh well. *mails a package with a donut inside to Moore's address

I choose to make my own decisions. I choose to use my brain instead of sluggin down a beer and watching the evening news and believing it. I am far from crazy. I am paranoid about the fact that were gonna be getting are ass whipped and the goverment will change the security color and tell you to buy duct tape. Oh well. *mails a package with a donut inside to Moore's address I, for one, am glad that he's making another film. Because he's completely out of touch with reality and, more importantly, with the American people, by failing to realize that his little "documentary" this year more than likely threw more votes TOWARDS Bush than they did to take them away from him. Another anti-Bush / anti-conservative movie from Moore in about three years is just going to ensure that a Republican wins the Presidency again in 2008. Guest Evolution Report post Posted November 13, 2004 If you can stand a post in a Michael Moore thread without a "HE'S SO FUCKEN FAT LMMFAO WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH THE QUALITY OF HIS MOVIES ROFLMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO", then read below: I won't take Michael's word on anything, but I will say that his movies are entertaining. Unfortunately, Bush-bashing is a dead horse. He should do something about Flint again. Or something else wacky.
