Hunter's Torn Quad Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 An 'unknown' wrestler e-mailed 1Wrestling.com a few times around the time of WM XIX, and complained about WWE and, amongst other things, the Miller Lite girls being brought in and taking a spot on the card that should have gone to the wrestlers. Scotsman tried to claim it was him, but he was lying. It was an actual wrestler in WWE.
Brocklock Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Wasn't it rumored to be RVD, or was it actually him.
JoeDirt Posted November 14, 2004 Author Report Posted November 14, 2004 It was Van Dam. How do you know that for sure? I read rumors that it was Rikishi or Jeff Hardy (as well as the RVD rumors).
CanadianChick Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Never heard Rikishi, but I heard it could have been Helms too.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 It was Van Dam. How do you know that for sure? I read rumors that it was Rikishi or Jeff Hardy (as well as the RVD rumors). Well, Hardy was long gone before WM XIX, so he could hardly complain about not being on the card. I know it was Van Dam, or at least believe it was him, because when the usual suspects were asked about it, they all said it wasn't this guy or that guy, but when Vam Dam's name came up, they got quiet and never gave an actual answer. So, either they wanted us to believe it was Van Dam, or it was Van Dam. Also, if it was someone who had since left, like Rikishi, it would have come out by now.
CanadianChick Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Well, Hardy was long gone before WM XIX, so he could hardly complain about not being on the card. Actually, Hardy was still in the company. He left VERY shortly after though. Like within a month.

Still, considering how he was viewed by management, he would have no reason to complain about not being on the card.

snuffbox Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Is that why RVD never gets the push that he should?

Bryan Alvarez was constantly asked who it was, and the one time someone brought up Van Dam's name, he never gave an answer. If it wasn't Van Dam, why didn't he come out and say it wasn't Van Dam ? I know a lot was written about Willy at the time of the e-mails in various newsletters, so you can check what Willy said in there, and check what he says against known facts. I would suggest asking Meltzer, but if Willy really was RVD as I think he was, or anyone still with WWE, then he probably won't tell you. I can do some research myself if you're that interested in knowing.

But just wanted to point out your error.
JoeDirt Posted November 14, 2004 Author Report Posted November 14, 2004 Well I've heard that the emails were traced back to RVD's or something like that, but I don't know if that's true. But it would make sense, as RVD is/was clearly a disgruntled worker who was left out of WMXIX for the Cat Fight girls. I read that it might have been Rikishi because of lots of Smackdown references, like how Nathan Jones was seen as a joke in the locker room, stuff about A-Train, etc. Of course since then he DID resign with the WWE, so I guess it's his fault for staying there. But I suppose with RVD still in the WWE nobody really wants to talk about it anymore.
bob_barron Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Willie the Worker Willow the Wisp That's why a lot of people thought it was Hardy
JoeDirt Posted November 14, 2004 Author Report Posted November 14, 2004 Found a post on the WC boards where Meltzer says it wasn't Jeff Hardy. And another post of his: ""This is going to surprise a few people but here goes. I received the same thing, and like Bob Magee said, the person writing it said he was sending to me because he didn't like Scherer and Ryder (who he sent it to, and I'm figuring he wrote them saying he didn't like me--typical wrestling con). The idea of printing something anonymous like that is mind boggling. I've gotten tons of stuff from guys in that company and they say who they are but know I won't print their names because that's the business. This came anonymously and I did later find out it was from a wrestler that I know a little (and really didn't like Scherer at least in the past) and... It is legit." -Dave Meltzer, posted 04-02-2003 04:18 PM"
Guest Loss Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 That still fits, as RVD also had history with Scherer.
Guest Duncan Eternia Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 I think the whole thing was a lame publicity attempt by 1wrestling. After all they ended it because "Wille" wanted to cenosr their writers or some shit like that.

I'm sure he knows more about it than I do. But one of Willie's ideas was to bring in Eminem...and the columns just sounded way too smarkish. By the way...I heard at the time the stuff was being written that it may have been Scotsman doing it as a way to get Scherer. There's another rumor for you!!!
Guest Loss Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Meltzer says the same thing was e-mailed to him earlier in the day, and that it was absolutely for sure traced back to a worker in WWE.

There's another rumor for you!!! That was later shown to be Scotsman just trying to be funny, and failing, by claiming to be WtW.

Despite what Meltzer says I am still inclined to think "work". But, for all we know, it could have been Honky Tonk Man! He's always desperate for publicity. /random bashing
Guest BrokenWings Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 Well I've heard that the emails were traced back to RVD's or something like that, but I don't know if that's true. But it would make sense, as RVD is/was clearly a disgruntled worker who was left out of WMXIX for the Cat Fight girls. I remember the same thing. I thought that that was reported by Meltzer, after he did some work to find out who it was. I don't really recall, and you'd think it'd have been a bigger deal if Willie was exposed.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 I don't think Meltzer would so publicly say it was RVD, or anyone still with WWE, because he would have to know he'd be basically killing their career. Also, WWE themselves did some internal investigation, and they almost certainly had to find out who it was. I guess that might point to RVD, seeing as during the summer of 2003 he was made Kane's personal bitch.
