Feinstein with Maximos Start New Promotion?

Recommended Posts

Alot of big names on that show (especially the guy who sings that everyone is planning on getting tippy song) but that card doesn't interest me in the slightest. The Main Event most of all has huge potential to be terrible (thanks to SAT)

But of course, it is always fun to see feds throwing away LOADS money for no reason! Hey bring in the Ultimate Warrior next!

From the CZWFans board...

That's the greatest thing since Tossed Salad.

Does anyone think X-Pac...I mean Syxx-Pac is going to pimp his new porno with Chyna? I'm sure RF will buy a copy or 10 considering he likes watching 2 men fucking.

Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Mitsuharu Misawa and Yoshinari Ogawa will not be appearing at this Friday’s FUSION debut at the Rexplex in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Numerous sources have confirmed that the NOAH talent, who were the focal point of what little advertising was done via the Internet and flyers, pulled out of the show late last week. One source close to the promotion attempted to cite a conflicting tour to PWInsider.com earlier today, but there are no NOAH dates scheduled for this weekend in Japan.

Although the promotion has yet to make a public announcement, FUSION representatives, including the Maximos, have been trying to line up replacement talent since at least this past Thursday. Among the talent contacted have been AJ Styles, Steve Corino, Marty Janetty, Ultimo Dragon and Christopher Daniels, although none are yet confirmed for the event. The same source who claimed the non-existent NOAH tour told PWInsider.com that an official announcement of a replacement would be named this evening “if they weren’t going to appear.”

Despite garnering immediate attention with the announcement of Misawa and Ogawa several weeks ago, the show (which is being put together by Evan Karagias, The Maximos, and a backer out of Pittsburgh, PA named Jacquelyn Moore) has been hampered by an apparent lack of organization. The initial announcement of the Japanese talent was quickly rescinded by the promotion, citing that it needed to be announced in Japan first. Flyers promoting the show featured incorrect names for the talent and the tag line that they would be appearing in the United States for the first time in “30 years” when had appeared for Pro Wrestling Iron in California on several occasions. There are conflicting stories as to whether the promotion even has a ring to use this weekend. The Maximos appeared last week on UXW promoter Frank Goodman’s hotline, trying to defuse rumors that the Japanese talent would not appear as well.

Talent still announced to appear this Friday at the Rexplex includes Scott Hall, Sean Waltman, Justin Credible, Tommy Dreamer, Sean O’Haire, The Maximos, The Amazing Red, Ron Killings, Psicosis, Kazushi Miyamoto, Juventud Guerrera, Xavier, Danny Maff, Brian XL, Jay Lethal, Steve Madison, and Ryan Drago. Sonjay Dutt and Matt Striker were initially scheduled as well but are no longer advertised. In the case of Striker, he pulled out after being booked for his Japanese debut tour with ZERO-ONE. FUSION is scheduled to hold a press conference at 5 PM followed by the live event at 8 PM. For ticket information, visit www.MaximoFusion.com.

Misawa and Ogawa were scheduled to face the Maximos, who have been the faces of the upstart company, contacting talent, handing out flyers at recent Northeastern independent events, and even having their names as part of the company's website URL.

PWInsider.com will have further updates on the FUSION event as they become available.

Marty Jannetty - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Geez, what a fucking horrible lineup for this promotion. Is anyone actually going to go to this mess. I say they draw 150 fans if they're really lucky.

I would be surprised if they draw more than 150 ring rats. If they put this in Memphis, it would draw big.

A PRESS CONFERENCE?

This is like an online "E-Fed" gone wrong.

Scott Hall, Sean Waltman, Justin Credible, Tommy Dreamer, Sean O’Haire, The Maximos, The Amazing Red, Ron Killings, Psicosis, Kazushi Miyamoto, Juventud Guerrera, Xavier, Danny Maff, Brian XL, Jay Lethal, Steve Madison, and Ryan Drago

I read that list and see no one enjoyable until Jay Lethal, who I think is pretty good. Never seen Madison or Drago or Xavier, however.

Who wants to guess the next drop out?

I'll say Tommy Dreamer next followed by Scott Hall and Sean Waltman.

I found some results on the DVDVR board:

Solution d. Silas Young and Dave Hansen

Jay Lethal d. Ryan Drago

Xavier vs. Dan Maff - Draw

New Jack d. Chris Hamrick

X-Pac d. Sonjay Dutt, Justin Idol and Brian XL

Justin Credible d. Frankie Kazarian

Scott Hall d. Marty Jannetty

SAT d. Ultimo Dragon and Amazing Red

Killings and Dreamer both showed but didn't wrestle. I think I know why Misawa backed out because the SAT probably wanted him to lay down for them. Total ring action ended up being like an hour and 12 minutes.

IMO this looks like a pretty bad show.

Although I’d probably be interested in seeing “SAT Vs. Ultimo Dragon and Amazing Red” other than that, the card really doesn’t interest me.

Fair play for them for continuing on with the show though.

Lethal vs Drago kind of interests me, but that's probably because i'm a mark for Lethal more than anything else.

Scott Hall d. Marty Jannetty

Probably the greatest match to ever grace the squared circle.

You must remember it's the year 2004, not 1994. Hall was never that great of a wrestler, and by now he's got to be way over the hill. Jannetty I haven't seen wrestling in years, but I doubt he's still good enough to have many good matches. I am interested in seeing this and the "main event" though.

"The word going around was that FUSION will run a second event in February, but not at the Rexplex. RF Video is releasing a tape of the show (Note from Mike: I had previously noted someone set to do commentary, but that person has told me the information was incorrect and it has been removed). RF Video had planned to do a shoot interview with Scott Hall but called off the plans once they saw Hall’s demeanor at the show."

Damn it, that could have been the greatest shoot interview ever.

As long as Hall didn't show up drunk at least. Actually, that would make it more entertaining in a train wreck sort of way.
