Guest bigm350 Report post Posted November 23, 2004 What is your favorite wrestling promotion of alltime? Doesn't matter what era, where its located, or what country. I'll probably say the WWE/F, but WCW ranks a close second.

Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2004 Late 80s, early 90s WWF. From when Orndorff turns heel in 1986, all the way until Hogan wins at Wrestlemania VII.

strummer 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2004 WWF 86-88. The period where Orndorff turned on Hogan till Summerslam 88 where Hogan and Andre finally ended their feud. This period was the peak of my markness, and where I became a die hard fan that couldn't miss a show. Favorite years for me watching wrestling WWF 89-91 I still watched but the booking became so complacent and repetitive, that I kind of the lost the passion for a little while WWF 92 is probably the second greatest period for me as a fan, Flair, Bret, Hogan Piper, Savage, just the incredible star power on the roster that year. Although the company did horrible business this year, it was one of my favorites. WWF 93-97. I seemed like the only person at school that still watched wrestling during this time. Not a great time to be a fan, but I still got psyched for the big PPVs and heel Shawn Michaels was a favorite. I loved the Attitude era for the majority and although Vince Russo's booking became atrocious towards the end, his shows were such a breath of fresh air in 97 and 98. I didn't like 2000 as much as the rest of the net did, but it was still enjoyable. Can't really decide the last 3 years yet, they kind of are still a blur. Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2004 ECW. Despite the usual array of shitty matches, and the pretty bad booking towards its end, no company had the same "feel" to it as ECW did, and that's what I admire about it so much.
The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2004 ECW, followed by WWF. WCW after the terrible Hogan-Sting finish made me embarassed to like wrestling.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2004 And WCW after Russo took a hike for the second time and Hogan was MIA made me not embarassed to be a wrestling fan again, since Dusty Rhodes, Terry Taylor, and John Laurinatis were booking one hell of a show, and everybody seemed to be hauling ass. I mean...Nash jobbed to Booker 100% clean in the middle of the ring at Fall Brawl '00. That alone made it awesome.

geniusMoment 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2004 Without question, ECW. If you never got to go to a live event you truly missed something special. No live event can compare to the feeling that ECW gave you. From my first trip to the ECW arena, a 15 hour drive with my friends, as a Sophomore in high school in 1998 to a TNN taping in Cincy during the fall of ECW I went to 21 ECW shows. There was, and is, nothing like it. I do not care if it was a the best card in the world, or the worst, I would take ECW back in a second.

Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted November 25, 2004 NWA/WCW has always been my favorite fed. I've never cared a great deal for the WWF styles. I liked juniors the most. New Japan is probably a distant second followed by the WWF.

No, thats 21 shows over a two year period. Including the shows from Dayton, Cincy, Chicago, Louisville, Lexington and Indianapolis. All of those cities are within 5 hours of my house in Cincinnati. Still, ppv or not, the ECW arena was the best place to see ECW action. Sure, it smelled like pee, but it was EC fuckin' W.
