Okay, I can't keep up the charade any longer. I don't think Aeroplane . . . is as good as everyone says. Songwriting be damned, it sounds like it was all done on a single mic from Radio Shack, and the whole Elephant 6 thing of using saws and trumpets because they can gets tired.

For some reason, I thought of replacing the N word in Rap songs with the word "Panda"

Here's part A of "The Panda Project", the Pandaization of "Cowards in Compton" (The classic by Luke)

Intro: Luke

UH! Yo fuck ass pandas

let me tell y'all one thing right now I just don't give a fuck!

I'ma let pandas just RIP y'all motherfuckin' throwdown y'all

gay ass motherfuckers! Snoop ass hoe ass dog ass panda!

Dre you ain't nothin' but my bitch I'ma make you my bitch!

You look like you could suck a panda' dick hoe ass motherfucker!!

Verse 1: JT Money

I know pandas ain't tryin' to diss comin' with that wack shit

Keep tryin' to front, get your motherfuckin' back split

And yo' ass kicked! Your shit is drastic!

Run up on my panda, get your punk ass blasted!

Real pandas don't talk that gay shit

Talk about, let another panda suck ya dick

Only punks talk like that

I won't even bust ya; I'll slap you with my gat!

Frontin' like a gangsta, but you's a faggot

See if you can act it, but you can't back it

A panda like me won't play wit' ya

I'ma BUCK BUCK BUCK when I get ya!

Fuck it, I'm Goin' All Out

Step on Death Row and spray up ya house, panda!

Dumb motherfucker tryin' to talk bad

Fuck around, get a missile launched in yo' ass

And for your homies talkin' fly shit,

If we was locked up together I'd have made 'em MY bitches!

'Cause I know y'all pranksters

Y'all pandas still Fakin' Like Gangsters! Fuck y'all!!

Verse 2: Clayvosie

It's about time for me to tear the roof off the motherfucker

I grab the gat to make you fuck-pandas run for cover

You can fool a groupie, but you can't fool a gangsta

1985, you used to be a fuckin' prankster

Down with (?) and the World Wreckin' Cru

Turnin' off the lights and dressin' like bitches too

Every panda on Death Row must be a joke

I put a level to the chair and watch you pandas smoke

Real pandas don't follow punks down here

I guess your panda Snoopie Dogg must be a queer

So who the fuck you gonna blast here in Miami?

Fuck with me and I'll kill your whol' family!

And I do mean hoe', you think I'm playin', son?

I got my glock to your head, now where you gonna run?

Before you diss my panda Luke, you better think twice

I'll pull a trigger, panda, and turn off your life!

Luke:

Yeah, fuck-ass panda, you just don't know! A panda know about yo'

motherfuckin' ass with them "Turn Off the Lights" days! panda,

when you was sittin' on them album covers with the motherfuckin'

lip gloss, and them sequins outfits on, panda, I know what a panda want

you to do right now! panda, you know what I want you to do for me

right now? I want you to just, *music stops*

Take off that g-string, ba-by,

'Cause you know you look real cra-zy,

And you gon' be my hoe - maybe -

I just don't like this panda.

Yo, Mike Fresh, let's just take these fuck-pandas' beat!!

*The opening of the instrumental track from "Fuck Wit Dre Day"*

Yeah, this is how we do, we take fuck-pandas' beat!

Yo, better yet, fuck that shit, my panda, fuck that shit!

*The record needle is dragged off*

Yo, my panda, bring the real shit in!

Get that ol' coochie shit outta here!!

*The "Cowards" track comes back on*

Verse 3: JT Money

Verse two, motherfucker, I still hit you with the ill shit

Fuck with my panda and yo' ass'll get killed quick

Pussy panda, you ain't shit!!

Did a whole album of other pandas pullin' your dick

I'll wreck your whole staff

Bust shots at they ass, you pandas can't last!

So don't try to flip the script, money grip

Got a tech on my hip, plus I'm in the mood to trip

And I'll take your 4-4

Take a walk down Death Row, them pandas get Petrol

'Cause that shit ain't nothin' but soft-town

Play bad, get knocked the fuck off, clown

I'll be on the D.L. scopin'

Catch you slippin', leave your motherfuckin' chest open

That panda changed gears like a 10-speed

Last album, that panda was against weed

Now he's mister Chronic-man

Get high, panda, try to play bionic man

Act like you wanna be tough

And we gon' see who'll really get fucked, ya fuck!!

Luke: Yeah, fuck-ass panda, lemme tell you somethin'! What you gon'

be? You gon' be a real panda or you gon' be a flaunt, panda? You gon'

be on weed, or you ain't gon' be on weed? You gon' be a bruise next

year! Aaight, what you gon' be on this motherfuckin' year? Let me

tell you somethin' 'bout a panda, right? All real pandas - I mean, you

lookin' at a real panda, panda, now lemme tell you somethin', have you

ever got head on stage, then? I'll get head from yo' motherfuckin' hoe

on stage! You let the bitch be in the audience, 'cause I'ma take that

pussy! You a pussy-ass, cock-ass panda! Lemme tell you somethin'!

Cowards in Compton get sprayed in Dade! Cowards in Compton get

sprayed in Dade, pussy!! Cowards in Compton get sprayed in

motherfuckin' Dade!! You hoe-ass panda, you my bitch, bitch!!

JT (in the manner of Dre): HELL yeah!

Announcer (talking rapidly):

Luke Records would like to acknowledge that all references made in the

previous work towards homosexuals is not reflecting anti-homosexual

position on our part. Our problem was just homosexuals by the name of

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg

I consider that an early success.

the best rap lyrics nowadays are far better than the best rock lyrics, if you're looking for inventiveness and use of language. and especially imagery.

i don't like it either. at all. but i have very inconsistant & irrational musical tastes.

I love it, but I have very consistent and rational musical tastes.

I got the Beta Band's The Three E.P.'s for Christmas. I think I like it quite a bit, but I can't yet listen to it all the way through. It's much more ambient than I expected.

Still, the songs from A Ghost is Born came off much better live. I haven't checked out that new live album of theirs—nor will I probably ever—but, from what I've read, it's a solid document of their tour from earlier this year. (On said tour I saw them, but not at the dates recorded for Kicking Television.)

What he said.

In addition, I like A Ghost Is Born a good deal more than most people seem to.

me too, regardless of their mindless & mostly illadvised doped up tweedy electro-jamsessions

in an effort to remain hip on 2005 music, i downloaded several of the albums from pitchforks top 50 list. the only one worth a damn as the hold steady album - which is pretty interesting. even if its talking. there's a certain unsophistication about it that really gets to me.

I really am starting to like Luke Haines (Auteurs, Black Box Recorder) but I think it's cos he balances the strings and lead guitar perfectly, not cos he's as great a songwriter as he's cracked up to be.

What else did you try? As soon as I get back up to school I'm going on a file-sharing binge through a few of those.

spoon, sam prekop, dearhoof

had tried to devandra & cam'ron earlier, didn't like neither.

i had several albums before hand which i liked, such as wolf parade (no thanks to pitchfork!) and silver jews (at inc's behest).

Only just got into Broken Social Scene. Good album, very different to YFIIP. Over-produced, but the more beat edged tracks are cool.

Also, listened to Takk properly for the first time over the holidays. It's good, but it doesn't engage me.

Morrissey's UK tour is thus,

18/4 - Salford Lowry

19/4 - Llandudno Nw Theatre

20/4 - Leeds Town Hall

22/4 - Aberdeen Music Hall

23/4 - Stirling Albert Halls

25/4 - Dundee Caird Hall

26/4 - Greenock Town Hall

27/4 - Glasgow Academy

29/4 - Whitehaven Civic

30/4 - Gateshead Sage

3/5 - Sheffield City Hall

4/5 - Grimsby Auditorium

6/5 - Manchester Apollo

7/5 - Manchester Opera House

8/5 - Manchester Bridgewater

10/5 - Halifax Victoria Hall

11/5 - Blackburn King Georges

12/5 - Liverpool Philharmonic

14/5 - London Palladium

15/5 - Cardiff St Davids

17/5 - Reading Hexagon

19/5 - Portsmouth Guildhall

20/5 - Birmingham Symphony Hall

21/5 - London Palladium

23/5 - Truro Hall For Cornwall

24/5 - Cheltenham Town Hall

25/5 - Oxford New Theatre

27/5 - Kings Lynn Corn Exchange

28/5 - London Palladium

Apart from tickets for the Palladium gigs which go sale on Friday, tickets for every other gig go on sale on the 27th which is so fucking annoying. Not only will it be chaos trying to get any, it also makes it fucking hard to try and go to multiple gigs. I *have* to go to all four Manchester ones so they'll be the one's I go for first, and I could be on the guestlist for the Scotland ones so hopefully I won't spend time getting any of them, but trying to get to some other tickets will be hard :(

And of course I've still not paid up my debts from the 2004 tour...

God, I need to get a life... ;)

Somebody sang a Cannibal Corpse song on American Idol last night, but I don't know which one. Funny, cause I said somebody should do that a long time ago.

You ain't kidding. It flows nicely once you can make it all the way through, though.

The only (good) horrorpunk bands I know of are Balzac, The Misfits, and Blitzkid. Are there any other ones that I've just managed to miss?
