Jesus Christ! RF Video doing a SABU shoot!

Recommended Posts

This looks AWESOME.

This has to be one of the biggest announcements in RF Video history. After 8 years in the making RF Video finally had the chance to sit down with one of the most influential wrestlers of the 90's. This is the one wrestler that has never spoken one word on video camera, and is the true legend of extreme. He is the most homicidal, genocidal, suicidal death-defying maniac, Sabu. RF Video proudly presents one of the biggest shoot interviews of all time with Sabu. From growing up as the Shieks newphew, how he broke into the business through the Sheik, working different territories throughout the US and Canada. His early tours in Japan and FMW with the Sheik. His ECW debut, to all his major fueds and angles. Internal disputes with the office, problems with Taz, what happened when he quit ECW and how he ended up in WCW. Getting back into ECW, reason for quitting FMW going to New Japan. Going from New Japan to All Japan. Talks about WWF, WCW, XPW, TNA and other independent promotions. This is hands down the best shoot interview ever conducted. Here are some of the topics we discussed in this interview:

That's funny. Scary, too. Puhleez..."Straight shootin?" LMAO. Gotta favor the innovator here, and that's RF Video. Face it - they pulled something off that nobody - not Dave Meltzer, not Bob Barnett, not Bill Apter has been able to do for years. Sure Wade Keller did an interview with Sabu around '95 and Sabu did the Gathering of the Juggalos Fans Q&A, but still...I've been waiting for this for ages.

I hate to tell you this; Sabu hasn't meant anything since 1997 and that's being very generous. Sabu's career is kaput and has nothing left to do but get Rob "I swear Officer he told me he was 18" Feinstein to do a shoot interview.

ROH's Straight Shooting offers better Quality everything. RF uses the DVD-R discs and usually if not always delivers poorly with the lightening, the follow up and the overall presentation.

ROH's uses quality footage and production. Just Like Gabe made ROH better wrestling promotion, He has made the Shoot genre HIS.

RF is a joke and this "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT" means nothing. He'll gladly rape you of your money and spend it on little Billy for a Happy Meal.

Say what you want about RF Video, but they always come out with something you don't expect.

Like the transcript that exposed Rob as a child molestor?

Nobody's defending him. I damn sure wouldn't What I'm defending is his seemingly unlimited business contacts and innovations.

And your sig is way too big

It's been like that for the last several weeks, dude.

I hate to be the guy defending RF Video because I know they've made some really poor decisions in the past, but...

Sabu is desperate for money, so it wasn't that hard for RF to pull off.

Dude, you don't know that. Only Sabu, RF, his employees, and a few others know. I'd love to see you commit to the travel schedule that Sabu once had and still maintains. Maybe the time was right to let the mystique die. Sabu has had a lot of physical and personal stuff go down over the past few years. He's not going to be wrestling for more than a couple more years, and that's pushing it. The non-life-threatening back tumors that someone else brought up are just one example of his problems. He has a lot more health problems that I know a bit about, but hardly enough to speak of (partly because of the credibility issue and partly because a lot of the stuff crosses the level of what should be on a public forum). Who are you to comment on his financial status?

You're welcomed to have that opinion, man. I just don't agree, nor do thousands of other wrestling fans. And unfortunately (in my opinion), a lot of people probably agree with you. What the f*ck else do you expect from the guy? He just celebrated 20 years in the business, and judging by his scars, it seems like he's an elder who's been wrestling ever since the day he was born.

Well, RF Video's shoots date back to the early '90's, so you gotta expect the production value is going to be considerably less than 2004 production value. The reason I scoffed at your original assessment was because you made it sound like you were completely devaluing the fact that without RF Video, ROH Straight Shootin wouldn't exist. (hope that answers your question, too, bob barron)

If you don't think Sabu's cash crisis, which is well known, wasn't the primiary motivation for doing this, then you're deluding yourself.

As for who I am to comment on his financial status, I'm just going by what's obvious to those without the blinkers you seem to have on: Sabu needs money to pay his medical bills, and this is one obvious cash cow to go to.

Wow poor Sabu must really need the money.

I'm interested in hearing what he has to say, so I hope HighSpots does a shoot with him or a bootleg copy shows up soon. Because no way in hell I'm ever giving RF a dime (and I'd be saying that even if the "lol I'll pretend you said 18" thing never happened. Hate that bastard and his crappy company)

If anyone here gets the shoot, let me know and I'll buy a copy.

Like Psycho, there's no way RF, or still ROH (since Gabe participated in a cover-up with the pedophile for months), will be getting my money anytime soon.

While I am interested in a Sabu shoot, I am not buying from RF Video. Man-Child love aside, they just provide awful customer service.

And while I respect Sabu for keeping that character forever, I would call that far from a huge announcement.

I just think it's troubling that people are still willing to buy from RF Video knowing everything they know about Rob.

ROH wasn't 100% honest about Rob but Gabe had to do some of the stuff he did to keep the company alive and they finally got Doug out of there.

It's been like that for the last several weeks, dude.

Yea- it's kinda big.

Who are you to comment on his financial status?

The fact that they're having a benefit show for him probably isn't a good sign of his financial status.

It sounds like that ROH's shoots are better quality and just better videos overall.

I'll buy this off my local bootleg tape dealer. I don't support pedophiles.

Too bad couldn't release this himself, I would rather give him my money than a fucking douche like RF. I've seen both RF shoots and ROH's straight shootin series and they are basically the same. The ROH DVD's of course are better but that is obvious. I would have to agree with bob on this one, I can believe people still give their money to that assfuck. I'll gladly by a bootleg though if someone wants to sell.........

Even as a non-Sabu fan, I understand the significance of him doing a shoot if nothing else. I have no interest in seeing it, but I can see the importance of it.

It is too bad he is doing one. Not just that he is doing it with RF, but that he is doing it at all. He had a mystique about him (through not talking in general and not doing any shoots) that really nobody else has in wrestling. It would have been nice to see him maintain that aura since it is rare.

Of course, he does need the money for his hospital bills and everything. RF lucked into that more than anything (though they *were* quick/smart to take advantage of the opportunity).

I think his wrestling character's mystique is dead now that he's been in a hospital bed with tumors all over his back. Its sad how some can't differentiate the difference between real life and fantasy. Its like asking DeNiro to do an interview as Travis Bickle.

How is RF's vid quality anyway these days? I remember when I was heavy into tape collecting (late '90s), they were known for bad customer service and usually lousy picture quality. Has any of that gotten better? I would consider buying the Sabu shoot, just 'cause I was a big mark for him when ECW was still around.

So that was RF's huge announcement?

Who cares about Sabu now anyway?

Only impact he had was on ECW rube fans and Rey Jr./Konan in AAA.

Tim

oh, you bad ass, you.
